- Chapter 6 - Eldest Senior Sister of Hidden Sword Peak
Shen Kaiyang’s death was utterly unexpected.
The healer wiped his face with one hand and stared incredulously at Lin Qinghe.
“Listen, I swear this incident has nothing to do with me. Do you believe me?”
Lin Qinghe also cleaned the red and white mess from his face, his expression somewhat grim and uncertain.
“Truly, it had nothing to do with you?”
The healer forced a bitter smile.
“It really didn’t involve me. I just took one look, and he exploded! Honestly, I’m starting to suspect if you’re trying to frame me!”
Lin Qinghe was momentarily speechless.
“Why would I risk my cousin’s life to frame you? Are you overly confident, or am I being unreasonable?”
Both the healer and Lin Qinghe locked eyes, falling silent for what felt like an eternity.
Finally, the healer hesitantly asked, “So now, what should we do?”
Lin Qinghe rubbed his temples.
“This situation is quite troublesome. Although my cousin wasn’t favored at home, once news of his death reaches them, my uncle will undoubtedly investigate thoroughly.”
“Let me think!”
They both sank into a prolonged silence.
Nearby, Shen Kaiyang’s headless corpse lay quietly.

When Liu Shunyi arrived at the Artificer Room,
the Steward had been eagerly awaiting his presence.
Several other servants were also present, waiting alongside him.
Qinglian Sect was vast,
with numerous servants’ quarters scattered throughout.
The number of servant disciples was practically uncountable.
As such,
Liu Shunyi did not recognize any of these fellow servants.
Upon seeing Liu Shunyi enter, the Steward immediately smiled and said, “You’re here, but we’ll need to wait a bit longer – the ores haven’t arrived yet!”
Liu Shunyi nodded.
The Steward didn’t inquire about Liu Shunyi’s tardiness, sparing him from having to explain.
Since the ores had not yet reached,
Liu Shunyi and the other servants took a seat nearby to rest.
Due to their unfamiliarity with each other,
they engaged in little conversation.
However,
instead of waiting for the ores,
they were greeted by an unexpected arrival – a celestial maiden.
To Liu Shunyi’s surprise, it was someone he recognized:
the cold and stunning beauty who had just saved him moments ago.
Seeing her approach,
the Steward and the other servants hastily rose to welcome her.
“Greetings, Senior Sister Ji!”
They all bowed in respect.
Liu Shunyi hastily joined in with his greeting, feeling somewhat awkward.
After all,
he did not recognize her,
and thus his bow was rushed and nearly silent.
This caught the attention of Senior Sister Ji, who eyed Liu Shunyi closely.
The other servants also turned to look at him curiously.
With a cold gaze, Senior Sister Ji directly questioned Liu Shunyi:
“What is your name?”
Liu Shunyi quickly lowered his head and responded,
“Disciple Liu Shunyi, greetings, Senior Sister!”
Senior Sister Ji nodded.
“Enduring a punch from a Qi Refining Seventh Layer Cultivator without any injury! Remarkable!”
Her words stunned the other servant disciples, who now looked at Liu Shunyi with astonishment.
Internally, Liu Shunyi thought, “Oh no,” but swiftly explained:
“Beforehand, Zhang Erhu asked me to purchase healing medicine pills for him. I hadn’t given them to him yet when he attacked with lethal intent. After being injured, I immediately consumed one of those healing medicine pills!”
Senior Sister Ji pondered briefly before nodding in understanding.
She then proceeded straight towards the Artificer Room.
Liu Shunyi let out a sigh of relief.
However, he still felt there were too many loose ends.
Upon closer thought, numerous questions arose.
For instance:
With his current cultivation at Qi Refining Second Layer, how could he possibly survive an attack from a Qi Refining Seventh Layer Cultivator?
This won’t do.
From now on, such incidents must not be witnessed by anyone else. Anyone who does, will die!
Liu Shunyi made this grim decision internally.
Ultimately, it all boiled down to his low cultivation base, which left him feeling quite despondent.
Ah, poverty indeed.
Liu Shunyi was deeply frustrated.
Before the damn crossover, he was poor; after crossing over, he became even poorer.
“But no worries, I’ve got cheats now. As long as I diligently work hard, someday I’ll be able to afford Cultivation Techniques and Magic Spells.”
With that thought, Liu Shunyi took a deep breath.
Time to keep grinding relentlessly!
The Steward of the Artificer Room eyed Liu Shunyi with suspicion. “You know Hidden Sword Peak’s Eldest Senior Sister?”
As he spoke, the Steward glanced in the direction where Senior Sister Ji had departed.
Liu Shunyi also looked towards the path taken by Ji Ruxin.
Liu Shunyi then recounted the events that unfolded earlier this morning.
Upon hearing his tale, the Steward expressed indignation as well.
“That guy truly deserves it! However, you’re quite lucky, lad. Just your timing to encounter Senior Sister Ji during her inspection saved you. Otherwise, even if you didn’t die, you’d surely suffer greatly!”
Liu Shunyi nodded in agreement.
They continued chatting for some time before the mine cart from Qinglian Mine finally arrived.
The servants promptly sprang into action, and Liu Shunyi joined them.
However,
This time, Liu Shunyi made sure not to stand out excessively, thanks to Senior Sister Ji’s reminder.
He worked when others did, rested when they took breaks, and drank water alongside them. Everything he did appeared perfectly normal.
Of course,
Liu Shunyi couldn’t hide his abilities forever.
At least, he needed to diligently contribute his efforts.
So,
while working, aside from the burly man who stood at 190 cm being the most efficient, Liu Shunyi consistently held the steady second position.
The Artificer Room Steward was visibly satisfied with Liu Shunyi’s performance.
Nonetheless,
Perhaps it was because each time they passed by the Artificer Room, they caught glimpses of Senior Sister Ji.
The servant disciples worked exceptionally hard as a result.
Mainly due to the fact that Senior Sister Ji often observed them from afar, which excited the servants even more. Some went to the extent of baring their chests while working, clearly seeking attention and trying to impress her.
However, Liu Shunyi stood out – he avoided any interaction whenever possible. He had no desire to be noticed by Hidden Sword Peak’s Eldest Senior Sister.
Yet, whether real or imagined, Liu Shunyi felt that Senior Sister Ji seemed to constantly observe him.
He repeatedly cautioned himself internally:
“Don’t overthink it, don’t get vain. She’s an Inner Sect disciple; why would she bother looking at you, just a mere servant?”
At the same time, Liu Shunyi prayed fervently:
“Ignore me, ignore me, please ignore me!”
Then, focusing diligently on his work, thankfully…
Unaware of their own limitations, these overeager servant disciples rushed through their tasks. What typically took a full day was completed within half a day.
Liu Shunyi couldn’t bear Senior Sister Ji’s unwavering gaze any longer and hastily approached the Artificer Room Steward to settle his payment.
“You’ve done well,” said the Steward, promptly adding one hundred thirty merit points to Liu Shunyi’s disciple badge.
Liu Shunyi graciously accepted the points and added, “Senior Brother, for any future strenuous or tedious tasks, please call upon me. I’m willing to do anything as long as there are merit points involved!”
The Steward nodded. “Agreed!”
Having achieved what he sought, Liu Shunyi turned and swiftly left without lingering.
Little did he know that after his departure, Senior Sister Ji approached the Steward and calmly stated:
“Have him deliver my sword tomorrow!”
Taken aback, the Steward quickly bowed in acknowledgment.
“Yes, Senior Sister, understood!”
Senior Sister Ji nodded, then mounted her flying sword and soared away into the sky.
