EX: 18/20

Chen Beiping’s eyes were filled with bewilderment.

As he stared at the rusty iron sword before him, a sense of unwillingness surfaced.

“Could it be that, aside from Ji Suying, no one else can wield this sword?”

He let out a deep sigh.

For this very sword, he had meticulously prepared himself.

Yet, to his surprise, when attempting to refine it, he experienced unimaginable agony akin to thousands of swords piercing his heart and the sensation of being brutally dismembered.

Although not fatal, it exacted a significant toll on him.

What perplexed Chen Beiping most was whether there was something inherently inappropriate about this sword.

Recalling how it moved up and down before finally shooting a fragment of its essence into his mind, reminiscent of lewd and almost obscene actions, infuriated Chen Beiping so much that he felt compelled to snap the sword in two.

It seemed as if the sword itself had insulted him.

“Wait, could it be that unlocking this sword requires some utterly unsavory method?”

Chen Beiping’s expression turned grim.

He found himself torn between options.

In the end, he decided that this situation was utterly absurd.

“Forget it. Since I can’t possess it, let this sword never see the light of day again!”

With these words, Chen Beiping lifted the sword and slowly headed towards a nearby cave.

Eventually, he reached a pool of molten lava within the cave.

Gazing at the rusty blade in his hand, Chen Beiping felt a pang of reluctance.

However, knowing he couldn’t control it, he resolutely tossed the sword into the lava.

“Buzz~”

Just then, the rusted sword vibrated fiercely.

Suddenly, it flew away with incredible speed.

“Clang!”

At that precise moment, Ji Suying emerged from another cave nearby.

She swiftly extended her arm and caught the rusty longsword.

Ji Suying didn’t immediately focus on the sword but instead turned to face Chen Beiping standing opposite her.

“Explain yourself,” she demanded. “How did you find this sword, and why were you attempting to discard it? Don’t even think about escaping or lying to me.”

Chen Beiping took a deep breath, his complexion turning slightly pale.

Never had Chen Beiping imagined that Ji Suying would discover him.

Nor did he foresee failing to seize this opportunity amidst such competition.

What was even harder for him to accept was being eliminated so early from the stage.

After all, the name “Ji Suying” itself symbolized invincibility.

However, Chen Beiping refused to believe it.

“I, Chen Beiping, am also among the top Heaven’s Chosen.”

“How could I ever be weaker than others?!”

“Hummm~”

A terrifying aura surged within him.

Today, he decided to challenge this supposed invincibility.

The corner of Ji Suying’s mouth curled with disdainful amusement.

“Ding~”

With just a gentle tap of her finger on the sword sheath,

a powerful shockwave erupted, causing rocks to crumble and lava to churn violently.

Caught in the blast, Chen Beiping was sent flying like a cannonball, slamming into a distant mountain peak.

“Swish~”

In an instant, Ji Suying reappeared before Chen Beiping.

“I…”

“Swish~”

Ji Suying’s finger swiftly brushed past Chen Beiping’s neck.

His head instantly flew off, separating from his body.

“Swoosh~”

At that moment, a palm-sized infant-like entity attempted to flee.

“Hmph!” Ji Suying extended her hand, gripping the void tightly.

“Boom~”

The infant exploded instantly.

Ji Suying dusted her hands.

“So, a mere ant dares to covet what does not belong to them! How audacious!” With these words, Ji Suying vanished without a trace.

At the main headquarters of the Heavenly God Cult’s branch.

Nalang Buzhu lay emaciated within a blood pool, visibly draining by the minute.

Despite this, there was no improvement in his condition-or rather, that wasn’t entirely accurate.

During the process, there were moments of slight recovery.

Whenever Nalang Buzhu neared exhaustion,

his blood would cease evaporating.

Once he regained some strength,

the evaporation would resume.

Nevertheless, Nalang Buzhu remained ecstatic.

Having witnessed Shi Changxin repeatedly breakthrough with the Blood Demon Scripture, he recognized the pattern.

Is this opportunity finally mine now? Nalang Buzhu fervently activated the Blood Demon Scripture.

As expected, his understanding of it deepened significantly, and indeed, he began to continuously break through barriers.

“Quickly, bring more blood from the pool! And fetch the ancient Monster Emperor’s blood crystals!” commanded Nalang Buzhu.

His subordinates dared not delay, hastily preparing as instructed.

Meanwhile, Nalang Buzhu intensified his absorption frenzy.

Although this process was incredibly painful,

the sensation of continuously breaking through with his Cultivation Technique

was utterly addictive and irresistible.

“Hahaha, at this rate, I’ll become invincible! Then, when the time comes, I…wait, hold on, something’s wrong!”

Nalang Buzhu sensed that things were not as they seemed.

It wasn’t just his blood evaporating anymore; now, his soul, longevity, and flesh itself began to dissipate.

“No, no!” Nalang Buzhu panicked.

Just as he uttered these words, the evaporation abruptly stopped.

By then, Nalang Buzhu had transformed into a desiccated corpse, visibly aged beyond recognition.

Emerging from the blood pool, terror filled his eyes as he gazed upon it.

“Fill up this blood pool, quickly!”

His subordinates hastily nodded, equally frightened.

Indeed, witnessing Elder Nara reduced to a dried-up husk by the blood pool instilled fear in them all.

At this moment, even Nalang Buzhu realized something was seriously amiss.

“This-this feels like some kind of Curse!” Nalang exclaimed just as an old lady approached with a smile.

“You’re right, it is indeed a Curse, and a remarkably powerful one at that!”

Seeing the old lady, Nalang felt as if he had found his savior.

“Please, dear grandmother, help me get rid of this damned Curse!”

The old lady chuckled mischievously.

“I’ve never encountered such a potent Curse before, but don’t worry, I will certainly assist you.”

With those words, she swiftly extracted one of Nalang’s teeth.

Using the momentary distraction, the old lady began to activate her Curse.

“Pff…” Nalang suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood.

In an instant, countless insects emerged from his body.

“Grandmother, what have you done?!” Nalang Buzhu was utterly bewildered.

Even the old lady appeared equally stunned.

“Are you insane? You’re cursing yourself!” Nalang’s eyes widened involuntarily.

“No, I’m not cursing myself!” The old lady frowned. “This curse seeks out its source and then devours it!”

Nalang’s breaths grew fainter by the moment.

“B-But, Grandma, perhaps you should reverse the curse first. I feel like I can’t hold on much longer!”

The old lady nodded in agreement.

Just as she was about to halt her spell, a series of crunching sounds echoed around them.

Suddenly, countless insects emerged, tearing into her flesh as well.

“I’ve cursed myself?” Terror filled the old lady’s eyes.

“No, stop it!” She desperately tried to end the spell.

However, the cursed insects consumed too quickly. In mere moments, both the old lady and Nalang Buzhu were reduced to two skeletal remains…
