Early the next morning.

Zhang Erhu sat slumped at his door, eyes bloodshot and complexion pale with a tinge of green.

Despite getting a full night’s rest,

he still felt incredibly exhausted, profoundly drained.

Moreover,

whenever he thought about cultivation, it triggered a sensation akin to nausea.

Even deep within him, there was now a sense of resistance.

Zhang Erhu couldn’t help but ponder:

Had he consumed something harmful recently? Or perhaps offended someone?

Could this be some sort of curse?

He continuously drank water,

as if doing so provided slight relief.

“Cough…cough…”

Just after taking another sip,

Zhang Erhu erupted into violent coughs.

His throat burned intensely; each swallow felt like consuming molten lava.

Not only that,

when Zhang Erhu examined himself internally, he discovered that his meridians were swollen and inflamed, as though ravaged by spiritual energy.

“What the hell is going on? Why is this servant disciple courtyard so sinister?”

Zhang Erhu’s expression shifted uneasily multiple times.

In the end, he began to suspect whether he might have contracted some strange illness.

Yet, he dared not let anyone examine his condition due to his status.

Considering his status, he couldn’t allow anyone from the Green Lotus Sect to examine his body.

Suddenly,

Zhang Erhu noticed Liu Shunyi waking up nearby.

His eyes immediately lit up.

“Junior Brother Liu!” Zhang Erhu called out.

Liu Shunyi momentarily hesitated but quickly smiled and ran over.

“What can I assist you with, Senior Brother Zhang?”

Without delay, Zhang Erhu produced a low-grade Spirit Stone.

“Go to the pill room and buy me a healing Medicine Pill!”

Liu Shunyi appeared somewhat troubled.

“Senior Brother Zhang, it’s not that I’m unwilling, but I’ve already committed to help at the Artificer Room today. If I take the time to fetch your medicine now, I might be late for my duties there. Perhaps…”

This indeed posed a dilemma for Liu Shunyi.

Zhang Erhu’s gaze suddenly turned icy cold.

“Oh? And why should I care about that?”

Liu Shunyi took a deep breath.

“All right, Senior Brother, please wait here!”

With that, Liu Shunyi hastily rushed towards the pill room.

He returned swiftly moments later.

Zhang Erhu, satisfied upon receiving the Medicine Pill, intentionally held onto Liu Shunyi.

“Senior Brother Zhang, what is the meaning of this?” Liu Shunyi’s expression shifted uneasily.

Zhang Erhu, however, chuckled.

“Nothing specific, I just wanted to see what punishment you’d receive for being late!”

Liu Shunyi felt a surge of mild anger.

“Senior Brother Zhang, we have no grudges against each other. In fact, I even helped you fetch medicine pills. Why would you deliberately harm me?”

Zhang Erhu snorted coldly.

“Because you defied me earlier – this is your lesson!”

Liu Shunyi’s murderous intent flared, and his fists clenched tightly.

But wait…

This guy is marked as a green enemy; he could still be potentially useful.

I must endure.

Taking a deep breath, Liu Shunyi composed himself and forced a smile onto his face.

“You’re right, Senior Brother Zhang. It won’t happen again!” He bowed deeply with deference.

Zhang Erhu narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

“Your ability to tolerate such treatment worries me. Therefore, I cannot let you go unchecked!”

With that, Zhang Erhu suddenly threw a punch at Liu Shunyi.

Liu Shunyi reacted swiftly, sensing an opportunity to counterattack.

Liu Shunyi knew he could still counter this guy.

Suddenly,

Out of the corner of his eye, Liu Shunyi noticed someone approaching and instantly feigned ignorance.

“Bang!”

A punch struck Liu Shunyi’s face, sending him flying backward.

Zhang Erhu prepared to follow up with another attack.

But then,

A swift Flying Sword appeared out of nowhere,

instantly severing both of Zhang Erhu’s arms.

“Ahh~”

Zhang Erhu let out a blood-curdling scream.

He collapsed on his knees, staring at his severed limbs, veins bulging on his forehead as sweat drenched his body.

At that moment, a cold and elegant woman clad in a long white dress entered through the servant disciples’ gate. Observing Zhang Erhu kneeling and wailing, her voice chilled the air.

“Innocent harm to fellow disciples is punishable by death!”

With these simple words,

the cold and elegant woman controlled the Flying Sword once more.

In a flash,

a bright white glow streaked across.

And thus, Zhang Erhu met his end!

Liu Shunyi watched, stunned, as everything unfolded before him.

After dispatching Zhang Erhu, the cold and elegant woman merely glanced indifferently at Liu Shunyi, sheathed her sword, and continued on without any hesitation.

Meanwhile, Liu Shunyi’s nose bled profusely.

Even his clothes were nearly soaked with blood.

Here’s what happened:

As Zhang Erhu threw his punch, Liu Shunyi hastily flipped to Shen Kaiyang’s page in the Grand Dao Golden Book.

Consequently, after enduring Zhang Erhu’s strike, Shen Kaiyang’s name shattered immediately.

With Shen Kaiyang’s name gone, there ensued a three-second vacuum period.

During these three seconds, Liu Shunyi experienced some negative effects. However, once the vacuum period ended and the first page of the Grand Dao Golden Book automatically updated to Cui Hao’s name, he felt relieved.

This incident reinforced Liu Shunyi’s understanding that the names inscribed in the Grand Dao Golden Book could indeed substitute for death.

*Holy shit! Now this is an awesome cheat I can get behind.*

Yet, even more bewildering for Liu Shunyi was that another name appeared on his Grand Dao Golden Book.

That new name was Zhang Junbao.

Moreover, this name appeared even greener than Zhang Erhu’s, resembling a vibrant aura light.

Liu Shunyi narrowed his eyes.

“It seems I shouldn’t blame that beautiful Senior Sister for Zhang Erhu’s death; instead, it falls on me now. Well, well~” Liu Shunyi chuckled sarcastically.

This was pure survival of the fittest.

However, at this moment, Liu Shunyi wasn’t afraid of enemies anymore.

In fact, the more they sought to take his life, the more he relished it.

And with a name as strikingly green as Zhang Junbao’s, Liu Shunyi decided he deserved a proper reward for himself.

“Hold on, not good!” Suddenly, Liu Shunyi remembered his laborious work in the Artificer Room, realizing there was no time to celebrate acquiring such a formidable enemy.

His top priority now was making money.

Only with wealth could he purchase better Cultivation Techniques and advanced Magic Spells.

With this thought, Liu Shunyi hastily rushed towards the Artificer Room.

Although Shen Kaiyang was crippled, his cousin had brought in a top-tier healer to treat him.

Naturally, Lin Qinghe didn’t want to involve himself with Shen Kaiyang’s condition. However, he couldn’t bypass the scrutiny of Shen Kaiyang’s parents, who were Foundation Establishment elders. With an incident occurring under his watch, it would be difficult to explain away.

Thus, Lin Qinghe also sought out a renowned healer to assess if there could be any remedy. Even if full recovery wasn’t possible, prolonging Shen Kaiyang’s condition for each additional day until Lin Qinghe reached Foundation Establishment would alleviate future concerns.

However, the healer seemed at a loss for words. “Young Friend Lin, I’ve examined your cousin thoroughly. It’s not that his meridians cannot be repaired; rather, the cost is exorbitant, requiring countless Spirit Stones and rare medicinal ingredients. Without those resources, there’s truly nothing I can do!”

Lin Qinghe nodded. “I understand. I just wanted you to see if there might be more affordable alternatives or herbs to stabilize his injuries.”

As he spoke, he produced around thirty low-grade spirit stones.

The healer’s face instantly lit up with delight. “In that case, let me take another look.”

With these words, they approached Shen Kaiyang’s bedside.

Shen Kaiyang attempted to rise, but Lin Qinghe waved dismissively.

“Let’s begin!”

The healer nodded, first checking Shen Kaiyang’s pulse, then examining his eyes closely.

Just as he glanced once more,

*Boom!*

Shen Kaiyang’s head suddenly exploded, splattering blood and fragments onto both Lin Qinghe and the healer.

Stunned and utterly bewildered, the healer and Lin Qinghe froze on the spot.
