“Hummm~”
Light reappeared before his eyes.
Liu Shunyi opened them and beheld a scene akin to a celestial paradise.
“Is this the River of Forgetfulness Secret Realm?” Liu Shunyi asked, somewhat surprised.
He had envisioned the secret realm filled with red spider lilies everywhere, perhaps even scattered with skulls.
However, what he encountered differed significantly from his expectations.
Chen Qiaoli was now fully equipped, covered head-to-toe with magic artifacts. It seemed as though she had donned a futuristic suit of armor-a cultivation mech! With her gear on, Chen Qiaoli barely resembled human, and even her voice sounded more profound.
She handed a token to Liu Shunyi, “This is the Return Token; keep it safe. We have limited time. After three days, this token will automatically initiate our return without any trace. Until then, we must make the most of these three days to thoroughly explore and gather resources.”
“I’ve given it careful thought,” Chen Qiaoli continued, “Senior Sister Ji stands as the foremost among the young generation so far. Although her warning might seem illogical, we should still be prepared!”
“Otherwise, I wouldn’t have risked entering this secret realm!”
After saying this, Chen Qiaoli provided Liu Shunyi with a map and gave further instructions:
“In reality, we only have one day to collect treasures because the greatest treasure lies here!”
Chen Qiaoli pointed at a specific location on the map.
Liu Shunyi followed her gaze.
It appeared to depict a palace.
“Every generation of Heaven’s Chosen entering the River of Forgetfulness Secret Realm has aimed for this very place – the River of Forgetfulness Temple.”
“I’ve heard it holds unimaginable treasures. However, I know about a hidden entrance that requires two individuals to activate simultaneously. That is our true objective. Let’s meet here again tomorrow at this time. Now, let’s part ways!”
Without wasting another moment, Chen Qiaoli instantly took flight.
Liu Shunyi didn’t protest much either.
As they journeyed,
whenever encountering any valuable treasures,
they stripped the area bare.
Fortunately, Liu Shunyi had brought plenty of Storage Bags for this occasion.
“Hmm, this tree seems quite promising too.”
“Oh, and this herb isn’t bad; it appears rich with spiritual energy, potentially beneficial for beasts as well!”
“Wow, even this soil looks exceptional, likely advantageous for cultivating spirit plants.”
Following these observations, Liu Shunyi embarked on a thorough sweep operation.
Everywhere he passed, not a single blade of grass remained untouched.
He even dug down several feet deep in places.
After half a day,
Liu Shunyi finally ceased his relentless actions.
Unbeknownst to him,
he had completely denuded the River of Forgetfulness Secret Realm.
Surveying the barren landscape behind him, Liu Shunyi felt somewhat awkward.
“Uh, maybe we should leave some for those coming after us!”
However, Liu Shunyi couldn’t help but feel that this secret realm truly lived up to its name.
Damn! Every mountain and stone seemed beneficial for cultivation.
Although it didn’t quite match the richness found at the desert’s center, it was still impressive.
Naturally, during the remaining time, Liu Shunyi selectively gathered more resources. He decided against collecting random weeds or soil, as they appeared similar throughout the realm. However, all medicinal herbs, regardless of their grade, were not left behind – none escaped his collection.
After all, despite finding Chen Qiaoli’s concerns somewhat unfounded, he believed it wise to be prepared. If there was a chance to gather more, he would seize it.
Unfortunately, Liu Shunyi had initially planned to excavate the entire mountain range, but alas, he lacked the power to move mountains or reshape seas.
“Ah well, the secret realm remains intact; I’ll have ample opportunities in the future!” With this thought, Liu Shunyi continued gathering medicinal herbs while making his way towards the River of Forgetfulness Temple.
Finally, at dawn the next day, Liu Shunyi spotted Chen Qiaoli waiting for him early.
However, the look she gave Liu Shunyi was rather peculiar.
“You, you’re quite ruthless!” Chen Qiaoli exclaimed.
Liu Shunyi observed the flattened landscape behind her, feeling somewhat speechless.
“Senior Sister, are you being sarcastic? You’ve removed all the mountains and accuse me of being ruthless?”
Chen Qiaoli coughed lightly.
“These stones serve as materials for Tool Refinement and Formations; moving them is not an issue. As long as the secret realm remains, the mountains will eventually reappear! However, I didn’t expect you to dig so extensively!”
Liu Shunyi waved his hand dismissively.
“Calm down, I just took some soil, that’s all.”
Chen Qiaoli pondered for a moment.
“The soil from the River of Forgetfulness Secret Realm indeed warrants study.”
With that, a small cauldron flew out from her hands and instantly grew larger in mid-air.
Under Liu Shunyi’s astonished gaze,
the massive cauldron began to rotate.
Chunks of soil from the River of Forgetfulness Secret Realm
continuously gathered into it.
Wait, more than just soil –
a deep abyss appeared on the ground.
Liu Shunyi stood at its edge,
feeling the chilling wind emanating from within.
He couldn’t help but gulp nervously.
“Senior Sister, and you call me ruthless!”
Chen Qiaoli chuckled despite herself.
“I must admit, entering the secret realm this way was indeed clever. When I said you were ruthless, I never imagined someone would excavate so deeply within a secret realm. You’re truly the first, leaving me utterly amazed!”
“All right, enough talk. Let’s head inside the River of Forgetfulness Temple and see what awaits us!”
Liu Shunyi nodded.
As they approached the River of Forgetfulness Temple, Liu Shunyi anticipated it to be quite challenging.
However, the actual method of entry left him utterly astonished.
Chen Qiaoli found a mouse hole near the temple.
She reached in, grabbed the mouse inside, and proceeded to give it several resounding slaps before tossing it aside.
“You’re not going anywhere! Wait here until we enter, then seal the entrance!”
The bewildered mouse stood on its hind legs, placing its tiny paws over its chest, completely dumbfounded.
Watching this gopher, Chen Nian couldn’t help but envision a classic meme image flashing through his mind.
Subsequently, Liu Shunyi and Chen Qiaoli began digging into the gopher’s burrow.
They dug tirelessly for what felt like countless meters.
Finally,
they reached a stone slab.
“Come on, let’s lift it together!” Chen Qiaoli said to Liu Shunyi.
Liu Shunyi nodded in agreement.
With ease, both lifted the stone slab aside.
To their surprise, it revealed a floor tile from the River of Forgetfulness Temple.
In a surreal moment, they effortlessly entered its deepest recesses without any obstacles.
Upon arrival at the temple interior,
Liu Shunyi was taken aback.
There was nothing to be found.
The anticipated scene of treasures scattered everywhere and countless magic artifacts remained unfulfilled. Not even a single statue could be seen.
“Senior Sister, did we come to the wrong place?”
Chen Qiaoli shook her head.
“No, this is the right spot.”
She pointed towards a table in front of the main throne inside the grand hall.
On that table lay a chest.
“All the treasures are within that chest. We need to simultaneously trigger the mechanism above it to open, revealing the desired artifacts once unlocked.”
Liu Shunyi blinked.
“Don’t just stand there, hurry up and open the chest! This time, we’re truly hitting the jackpot.”
“Oh, right!”
Together, Liu Shunyi and Chen Qiaoli approached the chest with anticipation.
