Extra Chapter: 18/20
In a small town of the Qinglian Sect.
At this moment, a beggar lay on the ground, his face devoid of color.
It seemed as if he had been cursed lately.
Not only was he completely drained of energy,
but also felt inexplicably irritable and nauseous, especially when seeing medicine pills – just the sight made him want to vomit.
“What’s happening to me?” Shi Changxin wondered, perplexed.
Why did he suddenly feel such disgust towards medicine pills? The mere smell of them triggered intense nausea.
As he lay there, a small snake slowly slithered up to Shi Changxin’s feet. Raising its head, it spoke in human language:
“Shi Changxin, once the Heavenly Fire Secret Realm opens, that disciple Liu Shunyi will enter too. Seize the opportunity!”
Glancing at the little snake, Shi Changxin nodded.
“Remember, you must retrieve the Blood Puppet Master’s Storage Bag intact, without altering its contents!”
Again, Shi Changxin nodded affirmatively.
The little snake looked at Shi Changxin with suspicion. “What’s wrong with you?”
Shi Changxin shook his head.
“I’m not entirely sure myself; lately, I’ve been feeling somewhat weak. Hmm, even seeing Medicine Pills makes me nauseous!”
The little snake remained silent, momentarily stunned.
“Alright, remember to seize your opportunity. As for the other elders of Qinglian Sect, don’t worry about them – Qing Teng will create openings for you.”
Shi Changxin nodded.
Once again, the little snake slithered away.
Helplessly, Shi Changxin leaned against the wall, a wave of discomfort and irritation surging within him.
“Darn it, what’s happening to me?” Shi Changxin felt increasingly agitated.
Deciding to take a walk outside, he suddenly spotted someone familiar.
“Liu Shunyi!” His eyes lit up.
Just as he was about to approach, he noticed Ji Suying beside Liu Shunyi. Quickly, he hid himself.
“Cursed! How did she end up with Liu Shunyi? An Inner Sect disciple associating with an Outer Sect one? It doesn’t make sense at all!” Shi Changxin’s expression turned grim.
Nevertheless, his gaze never left Liu Shunyi, and simultaneously, he hurriedly sent a message to his superiors.
Liu Shunyi also felt somewhat helpless.
Originally, he had planned to attempt Foundation Establishment.
After all, he now possessed a Cultivation Technique, a Foundation Establishment Item, and even a Foundation Establishment Pill.
Everything was ready for his breakthrough.
However, Ji Suying seemed inexplicably determined.
She insisted on having him accompany her shopping trip.
“Senior Sister, within the Qinglian Sect, you lack nothing. Why bother descending the mountain to purchase these mundane items? They’re not even related to cultivation!” Liu Shunyi asked, perplexed.
Ji Suying smiled gently.
“Although we are esteemed cultivators meant to distance ourselves from worldly affairs, how can one transcend them without experiencing them first?
“I’ve grown up here on the mountain, surrounded only by matters of cultivation. I’ve never truly ventured into the world beyond; it feels like a gap in my understanding!”
Liu Shunyi nodded in agreement.
Her perspective made perfect sense. Few cultivators displayed such clarity of thought as Ji Suying did.
No wonder she became an Inner Sect disciple.
Yet, Liu Shunyi still couldn’t understand.
“But why did you choose me to accompany you?”
Ji Suying cast a slightly displeased glance at Liu Shunyi.
“There are plenty of disciples eager to accompany me. You should be grateful that I chose you! What’s with all the questions? Are you looking for some discipline?”
Ji Suying raised her sword hilt, ready to strike Liu Shunyi’s head.
Liu Shunyi hastily pleaded for mercy.
“Senior Sister, I’m sorry! Please don’t hit me!”
Ji Suying let out a cold humph but refrained from actually striking him.
They continued strolling through the market.
Occasionally, Ji Suying would pick up hair ornaments, comparing them with her own hair and asking Liu Shunyi if they looked good.
“Yes, very nice!”
“And this one?”
“Very nice indeed!”
“How about this?”
“Very nice too!”
Ji Suying grew visibly irritated.
“You haven’t even looked at them!”
“Huh? I did look, honestly!”
Ji Suying glared menacingly at Liu Shunyi.
“Well then, tell me exactly what makes them nice!”
Liu Shunyi scratched his head.
“Senior Sister, you’re like a celestial fairy; everything looks good on you!”
Feeling somewhat disheartened, Ji Suying sighed.
“All right, there’s not much fun just wandering around here!”
Quickly sensing her mood, Liu Shunyi asked, “Then shall we head back?”
Ji Suying rolled her eyes.
“Shunyi ah!”
“Yes?”
In a more serious tone, she said, “Actually, today wasn’t just about shopping!”
Liu Shunyi’s expression turned tense.
“What is it, Senior Sister?”
Instead, they headed towards a large courtyard within the town.
Upon arrival, a group of servants greeted them with bows.
Ji Suying waved her hand dismissively.
Finally, she led Liu Shunyi to the main hall of the courtyard.
“Have a seat!” Ji Suying said.
Liu Shunyi nodded and casually sat on one side.
Meanwhile, Ji Suying took a sip of tea before speaking.
“Shunyi, do you know that the future of the cultivation world might not be peaceful?”
Liu Shunyi shook his head. “No, I don’t!”
Ji Suying nearly choked on her tea.
She then put down her cup.
“It’s quite normal for you not to know. However, today I want to inform you that potential turmoil may arise in the future of the cultivation world. On a grand scale, we must consider the fate of all under heaven; on a smaller scale, we need to protect our own sect, isn’t that right?”
Liu Shunyi scratched his head. “Senior Sister, what kind of turmoil are you talking about?”
Ji Suying shook her head. “I don’t know the specifics!”
Liu Shunyi was momentarily speechless.
“Hold on, let me clarify. Although I don’t have all the details, I am aware that chaos will engulf the cultivation world in the future. Bloodshed will flow like rivers, darkness will envelop the skies, mountains and rivers will crumble, the world will collapse, and prospects will be dire…”
“Wait…” Liu Shunyi couldn’t bear it any longer. “Senior Sister, perhaps you should put away your script and just tell me straight – what do you need from Junior Brother?”
Ji Suying cleared her throat and discreetly tucked away her notes.
“In this impending chaos, there will arise an individual destined to end the great calamity. However, they urgently require a Forming Core Pill to breakthrough to the Golden Core Realm. Junior Brother, for the sake of our sect and the world, could you assist in crafting such a pill?”
Liu Shunyi looked speechlessly at Ji Suying.
“Senior Sister, if you have such requests in the future, please just state them directly, no need for roundabout tales. Unfortunately, my current abilities are insufficient; I cannot yet create Fourth Rank Medicine Pills. Once I reach Foundation Establishment, perhaps I might give it a try!”
“Excellent!” With Liu Shunyi’s agreement, Ji Suying felt relieved.
“However, that wasn’t the only reason I called you here today.”
“Do you know why I haven’t allowed you to attempt Foundation Establishment yet?”
This time, Liu Shunyi was genuinely perplexed.
Ji Suying sighed deeply.
“To enter the Foundation Establishment realm, one requires a suitable Foundation Establishment Ground. The better the ground, the higher the chances of success and the stronger your foundation becomes!”
“The sect’s Foundation Establishment Spiritual Pool is decent but falls short compared to the innate Foundation Establishment grounds within secret realms.”
“In the upcoming Heavenly Fire Secret Realm, there exists a Nine Spirits Dao Platform. Achieving Foundation Establishment there could potentially transform and strengthen your foundation further – making it the ideal place for you!”
Upon hearing this, Liu Shunyi finally understood.
“Many thanks for your guidance, Senior Sister!”
Ji Suying waved her hand dismissively.
“One more thing, may I see the Blood Puppet Master’s Storage Bag?”
