Extra Chapter: 15/20

Liu Shunyi’s interest was instantly piqued.

The Primordial Bead.

Just hearing its name suggested something extraordinary.

As for the risk of immediate death by explosion while attempting Foundation Establishment with this bead, Liu Shunyi feared it not at all.

However, upon seeing the price of the Primordial Bead, his face turned grim involuntarily.

“Nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine merit points!”

Liu Shunyi turned to Ji Suying.

“Is that serious?”

Ji Suying smiled.

“Naturally not serious. The high price is meant to deter others from using it for Foundation Establishment!”

Liu Shunyi nodded thoughtfully.

For a moment, he hesitated.

This item seemed unusable by most people. But if he could successfully achieve Foundation Establishment with it, wouldn’t he stun the entire Qinglian Sect?

Considering such a remarkable Foundation Establishment artifact existed,

Wouldn’t it be a waste not to use it?

Ji Suying appeared to read Liu Shunyi’s thoughts and quietly asked:

“You wish to attempt Foundation Establishment with this?”

Liu Shunyi remained silent.

Ji Suying pressed further, “How confident are you?”

Liu Shunyi scratched his head.

“I don’t know!”

Ji Suying’s fingers tapped continuously on her sword sheath, her gaze fixed firmly on Liu Shunyi.

After what seemed like an eternity,

Ji Suying said, “I can decide to give you this Primordial Bead!”

Liu Shunyi sighed.

“What does Senior Sister expect me to do?”

Ji Suying’s expression turned serious.

“In the coming days, a small secret realm is set to open. Within it, there exists a spirit herb called Foxfire Vine.”

“I need you to enter the secret realm and locate the Foxfire Vine, even just determining its exact position would suffice!”

Liu Shunyi hesitated momentarily.

Honestly, venturing into secret realms was not something he desired. They were simply too dangerous.

With his possession of the Grand Dao Golden Book and alchemy skills, over time, there was no need for him to take such risks to acquire anything he wanted.

Safe cultivation should always be the priority.

However, considering the Foundation Establishment opportunity before him, Liu Shunyi gritted his teeth.

“Fine!”

Ji Suying extended her hand, and the Primordial Bead flew out from the transparent cabinet. She promptly handed it to Liu Shunyi, who eagerly accepted it.

“Just like that, you’re giving it to me?” Liu Shunyi seemed incredulous.

Ji Suying smiled warmly. “I trust your character!”

Liu Shunyi reciprocated her smile.

Time swiftly passed over three days.

During this period, Liu Shunyi repelled three waves of challengers, all Outer Sect disciples, including some seasoned ones.

The reason was simple: After defeating the disciple who had previously occupied his cave dwelling, Liu Shunyi faced retaliation from that disciple’s allies. Each time they came, he soundly defeated them. This cycle repeated until Liu Shunyi had essentially thrashed all the formidable Outer Sect disciples on Hidden Sword Peak, finally bringing peace to the situation.

Now, within the Outer Sect of Hidden Sword Peak, Liu Shunyi commanded respect and could practically strut with impunity. Even those outside bowed upon seeing him.

Such is the cultivation world, where strength always signifies one’s status.

Liu Shunyi, however, did not let it go to his head; instead, he reciprocated their gestures courteously. Sometimes, he even stopped to chat casually with the disciples.

Nevertheless, today Liu Shunyi had important matters at hand.

Having acquired the Foundation Establishment Item, he now needed a Foundation Establishment Cultivation Technique. Additionally, he required a Foundation Establishment Pill.

These essentials were undoubtedly costly, demanding both significant funds and large amounts of merit points.

Fortunately,

he was an Alchemist!

Once he officially confirmed his Alchemist status, he could start concocting pills for the sect. Crafting a single Qi Gathering Pill would earn him 500 merit points, while a Qi Recovery Pill netted 100 merit points. Moreover, higher-quality pills yielded even more merits.

This, damn it, was what he should be focusing on right now.

Becoming the sect’s Alchemist also came with another perk: unrestricted access to all the sect’s medicinal ingredients and pill formulas.

Furthermore, as an Alchemist, his monthly stipend amounted to twenty thousand Spirit Stones.

Wow! Liu Shunyi’s eyes widened in disbelief.

After what felt like ages,

Liu Shunyi finally arrived at Qinglian Sect’s Alchemy Room.

The first impression upon entering was akin to being in a hospital.

Every person here appeared to be injured, with some even needing assistance to walk.

It was overwhelmingly crowded.

Navigating through twists and turns, Liu Shunyi reached the Alchemist Authentication area.

This place too was teeming with people.

Most absurdly,

those waiting in line were continuously studying from their books.

“Wow, it feels like preparing for a job interview,” Liu Shunyi thought, utterly dumbfounded.

With nothing else to do,

he joined the queue, patiently waiting his turn.

As he stood there,

Liu Shunyi couldn’t resist sneaking glances at his fellow aspirants beside him.

What he saw left him speechless.

They were all engrossed in basic medicinal names and properties.

And these were elementary concepts.

Wait, if you don’t even know the most fundamental drug names and properties, why are you attempting to certify as an alchemist?

Liu Shunyi found this baffling but wisely kept his thoughts to himself.

Liu Shunyi couldn’t even gauge how long he had been waiting. As drowsiness began to set in,

finally…

The attendant at the Authentication Hall called out his name.

“Hidden Sword Peak, Liu Shunyi!”

“Coming, coming!” Liu Shunyi hastily rose to his feet.

He followed the disciple into the Authentication Hall, entering a spacious chamber.

Upon entry, a massive pill furnace immediately caught his eye.

It strikingly resembled the Supreme’s pill furnace.

Of course, only in appearance.

Liu Shunyi estimated that this one couldn’t compare with the Supreme’s.

“Go ahead!” After leading Liu Shunyi inside, the disciple stepped aside.

Liu Shunyi approached the pill furnace, or more precisely, a table placed before it.

On the table lay a sheet of paper and several medicinal herbs.

“Write down their names and pharmacological properties!” It was unclear who spoke these words.

Unfazed, Liu Shunyi simply followed the instructions.

The medicinal herbs and their effects were remarkably straightforward.

Liu Shunyi swiftly completed the task.

As soon as he finished writing, the paper instantly flew behind the pill furnace.

Curious, Liu Shunyi leaned forward to investigate.

To his surprise, there was another table positioned directly behind the pill furnace.

An elderly man with an ethereal aura sat at this table, meticulously examining Liu Shunyi’s submitted answers.

“Ah, even some hidden effects were noted! Truly a talented individual!” The elder expressed his satisfaction.

He then continued, “You’ve passed the first test. For the second test, refine a ninth-grade Qi Recovery Pill. The medicinal ingredients can be found in the cabinet on your left!”

Following the elder’s words, Liu Shunyi noticed the medicine cabinet indeed located to his left.

Without hesitation, Liu Shunyi retrieved the necessary ingredients for the Qi Recovery Pill and began refining them using the pill furnace.

His technique appeared quite brutal; he threw all the medicinal herbs into the pill furnace at once, followed by intense heat extraction. Brutal spiritual energy surged wildly into the furnace!

The observing elder turned pale-faced, visibly frightened by Liu Shunyi’s approach.
