Upon arriving at the dining hall, Liu Shunyi discovered a disheartening fact.

That damn Shen Kaiyang had swiped all his Spirit Stones and even siphoned away the merit points he earned from his labor as a servant disciple.

Now, Liu Shunyi was left utterly destitute.

Feeling deeply aggrieved, he mentally cursed Shen Kaiyang to death.

But the immediate problem remained – what should he do now? He couldn’t simply starve to death.

Liu Shunyi paced back and forth outside the dining hall, eventually letting out a resigned sigh.

In the cultivation world, borrowing money was practically impossible. Encountering genuinely kind people was also exceedingly rare.

As for eating…

Liu Shunyi could only gaze at the wild vegetables growing by the roadside. With no other choice, he started gathering them.

‘Fucking hell, I might just be the most unfortunate transmigrator in history!’ Liu Shunyi lamented inwardly, close to tears.

However, compared to earlier, his mood had somewhat improved.

At least, he still possessed his unique ability.

After all, as long as his enemy persisted, there would be a chance for him to rise above.

He remained hopeful for his eventual rise.

Once he had gathered enough wild greens, Liu Shunyi promptly left the area.

There was no choice.

As a cultivator, digging for roadside vegetables with curious stares from others felt quite embarrassing.

Nevertheless, it wasn’t enough to sustain him.

Liu Shunyi ventured to the mountains behind the sect, specifically hunting for some game.

After satisfying his hunger and thirst,

with nothing else pressing to do,

Liu Shunyi returned directly to the servant disciples’ courtyard.

His first priority was to earn merit points.

“Brother, let me help you with your tasks, and I’ll take just three merit points as my share!” Liu Shunyi approached several servant disciples, making his proposition.

The servant disciples found the offer appealing.

Soon after, Liu Shunyi embarked on a frenzy of work mode, showing no signs of laziness and achieving remarkably high efficiency.

This astonished the other servants, leaving them dumbfounded.

Continuing his spree, Liu Shunyi took on more tasks from various servants.

Upon completing them,

he decided not to accept any further assignments.

One reason being Cui Hao’s exhaustion,

and another being that relentless overworking without rest would raise suspicions.

Working tirelessly at such a frenzied pace inevitably drew attention, making others feel it was quite peculiar.

Liu Shunyi’s face flushed red from exhaustion, his neck veins bulging, and sweat drenched his body completely.

Of course, this was all an act.

However, the effect was remarkably convincing.

By the end of the day, he earned thirty merit points.

Considering Green Lotus Sect’s exchange rates, that equaled thirty yuan!

Liu Shunyi exclaimed internally:

“Damn!”

Frustrated, he slammed his hand on the table.

This place truly seemed unbearable for humans.

Fortunately,

tomorrow he could finally dine at the cafeteria again.

With those thirty merit points, he’d afford one meal.

Just thinking about it made Liu Shunyi’s stomach grumble anew.

Over these past few days, by transferring negative states and absorbing light from Shen Kaiyang’s name, Liu Shunyi had also strengthened his own body significantly.

It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that now, Liu Shunyi was effectively a Cultivator at Body Refinement Third Layer.

He could effortlessly punch through a bull with a single blow.

However, as expected, his appetite had become voracious.

“This can’t go on!”

Having acquired an external advantage, Liu Shunyi began contemplating his future plans.

Firstly, he needed to enhance his cultivation base.

Hmm.

Although Shen Kaiyang’s name hadn’t regained its glow yet, the shared effects of the low-grade Spirit Root remained intact.

Liu Shunyi took a deep gulp of water and started cultivating fervently.

Perhaps due to his enhanced physique, this time, while absorbing heaven and earth spiritual energy, his meridians did not tear.

“Hmph, seems like Cui Hao got off easy!” Liu Shunyi sneered, dismissing further thoughts and continued his cultivation.

In no time, it was the next day.

Liu Shunyi woke up early, gazing at Cui Hao’s name, now dimmed without its previous glow.

Feeling somewhat melancholic, he muttered, “This year’s rivals are the weakest I’ve ever seen!”

Fortunately for Liu Shunyi, his relentless work over these two days had left the servant disciples’ courtyard unusually quiet. A few of them gathered to chat idly.

Seeing as Liu Shunyi also had some free time, he grabbed a handful of sunflower seeds and joined the conversation.

“Hey, have you heard? That Senior Brother Shen, who always exploited us, has been crippled!” someone exclaimed.

Upon hearing this, everyone froze momentarily before bursting with relief.

Some even expressed their intention to descend the mountain immediately to offer thanks.

One disciple, particularly elated, said, “Wonderful! I don’t know which immortal did us this favor, but if I meet him, I’d gladly bow down in gratitude!”

Liu Shunyi listened silently from the side but couldn’t resist asking, “How was he crippled? Any details? Is there any chance of recovery?”

A fellow servant disciple shook his head.

“I heard his meridians were completely severed; he’ll never be able to cultivate again. As for recovery, it’s not entirely impossible with top-tier Healing Pills.”

“Considering Shen Kaiyang only had low-grade Spirit Roots as an Outer Sect disciple, who would waste such high-quality Medicine Pills on him!”

Liu Shunyi nodded, his face reflecting genuine satisfaction and relief – this was no act.

However, now Liu Shunyi needed to find a more formidable enemy, but not too powerful either.

Currently, he was still weak. If he angered someone truly strong, they could easily crush him with a single blow. Moreover, there was no guarantee that his designated enemy would always take the fall for him.

On this matter, Liu Shunyi couldn’t afford any risks. It seemed prudent to carefully plan his next move.

For now, his immediate priority was to earn money.

But with no available work for servant disciples here, he needed to find a more lucrative opportunity.

His only option appeared to be taking miscellaneous tasks within the Outer Sect.

Yet, Liu Shunyi hesitated to venture there at present.

One misstep, and he risked getting injured amidst the Outer Sect’s constant duels.

‘Damn it, all because my strength is still too low!’

Taking advantage of having these servants around, Liu Shunyi decided to ask them directly.

“Senior Brothers, Shen Kaiyang stripped me of this month’s stipend, leaving me penniless. Could you please guide me towards a more lucrative opportunity!”

The other servants looked at Liu Shunyi with sympathy.

However, one of them genuinely offered a suggestion.
“Brother, you seem quite strong. How about I introduce you to a job?

“But remember, we split the Spirit Stones fifty-fifty, and it’s a significant gig!”

Liu Shunyi was taken aback.
“Senior Brother, is this job…legitimate?”

The servant disciple chuckled slyly.
“Aren’t you eager to make money? This job pays handsomely!”

Liu Shunyi eyed the disciple suspiciously.
“Could you give me some details first?”

The servant disciple gestured discreetly, signaling Liu Shunyi to come closer.

Liu Shunyi promptly moved nearer.

In a hushed tone, the servant disciple whispered something.

Instantly, Liu Shunyi shook his head vigorously.
“No way, no way. I can’t do that.”

Internally, he was speechless.
*This jerk, trying to set me up.*

*Damn, even listed on the Grand Dao Golden Book now.*

To Liu Shunyi’s shock, both Cui Hao and Shen Kaiyang had their names glowing faintly white.

Impressive!

Yet, what truly stunned him was Zhang Erhu’s name – it glowed green.

Wow, Zhang Erhu, hiding deep indeed.

Naturally, Liu Shunyi became increasingly cautious.

He wasn’t sure what the green glow signified, but he knew for certain that it couldn’t be associated with a mere servant disciple.

Even Shen Kaiyang, being a waste, had reached the Outer Sect, so there was no way Zhang Erhu could just be a servant.

Could he possibly be a spy from another sect?
