Extra Chapter: 11/20

As Chen Qiaoli brought Liu Shunyi back onto the flying boat,

the battle at Kangzhuang City had already concluded.

With the blood puppet master dead,

his remaining puppets became easy targets.

Under the combined efforts of the Foundation Establishment Disciples,

the fight swiftly ended.

Liu Shunyi did not spot Ji Suying or Elder Qing Teng anywhere.

Instead, he was greeted by a group of concerned senior brothers who asked after his well-being.

They vividly remembered witnessing Liu Shunyi personally thrashing the blood puppet master – it was truly impressive.

Naturally,

Liu Shunyi appeared disheartened.

He confided to them that he had used a secret technique, fearing it might severely hinder his future cultivation progress.

Upon hearing this,

wow!

The disciples quickly found various excuses and dispersed instantly.

Liu Shunyi was utterly taken aback by their reaction.

“My goodness, these people, so pragmatic?”

Chen Qiaoli chuckled softly.

“The gap between mortals and cultivators is vast. Once you’re deemed incapacitated, they likely see no further benefit in associating with you, hence their swift withdrawal!”

Liu Shunyi fell silent, contemplating the situation.

Upon further reflection, it seemed like a reasonable approach. He decided not to dwell on it too much.

After all, his current strength was indeed quite weak.

Being just another insignificant bystander sounded fine by him.

“Senior Sister, please toss me somewhere inconspicuous; you know I’ll be alright!”

Chen Qiaoli nodded and discreetly handed Liu Shunyi the blood puppet master’s Storage Bag. She then quickly concealed herself as well.

Liu Shunyi subtly stowed away the Storage Bag, leaned against the deck, and feigned extreme weakness convincingly. From a glance, one might even think he looked close to death.

Of course, Liu Shunyi wasn’t idle during this time. He attentively listened to the conversations among the disciples.

After eavesdropping for a while, Liu Shunyi finally pieced together the situation.

Ji Suying and Elder Qing Teng had already entered Kangzhuang City, seemingly intent on purging it completely.

However, there was one puzzling aspect: Shi Changxin was nowhere to be seen.

Rumor had it that he fled.

Scratching his head, Liu Shunyi muttered, “Is he really that cowardly?”

However, Liu Shunyi remained uneasy.

After all, Shi Changxin was genuinely formidable.

Even when he had used the Blood Ignition Divine Fist earlier, Shi Changxin’s name only briefly dimmed before swiftly recovering.

And considering how Liu Shunyi had consistently pricked his kidney daily, Shi Changxin’s name never showed any signs of fading at all.

“How come I still feel that Shi Changxin isn’t as cowardly as it seems!”

Nevertheless, there was nothing to be done about it now.

He had already made his mark.

From this point forward, he would simply return to being an inconspicuous disciple.

Moreover, what troubled Liu Shunyi the most was Elder Qing Teng.

Damn, within the same sect, yet wanting to kill him!

Liu Shunyi needed to carefully devise a plan to deal with Qing Teng. After all, as a Golden Core Cultivator, if he possessed a life-substituting artifact, he could potentially eliminate Liu Shunyi during those crucial three-second vulnerable periods.

As for whether Liu Shunyi would respawn after those three seconds if killed, he wasn’t certain and dared not take the risk.

Therefore, his immediate priority was to ponder how to proceed with Foundation Establishment and obtaining the right Foundation Establishment Item.

Just thinking about it gave Liu Shunyi a headache.

Foundation Establishment Items were incredibly expensive.

Considering he had a golden finger, settling for anything subpar wouldn’t do. Either he didn’t attempt Foundation Establishment at all, or he must choose the best possible item available.

With this thought, Liu Shunyi flipped directly to the page on Qing Teng in the Grand Dao Golden Book.

Now, all he wanted was a good night’s sleep.

Meanwhile, Ji Suying and Elder Qing Teng had already arrived in Kangzhuang City.

Uncertain if Shi Changxin had set traps within the city, they refrained from sending their disciples ahead.

Kangzhuang City now lay devastated, with fires and smoke visible everywhere.

Shortly thereafter, Ji Suying and Qing Teng reached the Mayor’s Manor.

The manor was completely empty, but inside its main hall, there was a massive pit leading underground.

Ji Suying and Qing Teng peered into the hole, finding it equally devoid of anything.

Subsequently, Ji Suying scanned the surroundings, noting the nearly abandoned state of the Mayor’s Manor.

She came to a conclusion: “This Shi Changxin has fled!”

Qing Teng’s expression turned grim. “Damned coward! He actually escaped!” he exclaimed angrily.

Ji Suying gave him a slightly puzzled look. “If he felt unable to defeat us, fleeing for his life seems like the most logical choice.”

Qing Teng’s face grew ashen. “Allowing such a malignant influence to escape is truly worrisome!” he muttered darkly.

Ji Suying chuckled softly, choosing not to respond further.

They continued investigating for some time, confirming that Shi Changxin indeed intended to flee before departing.

On her way back, Ji Suying received news:

After thoroughly purging Kangzhuang City, the leakage of earth veins from the Qinglian Sect ceased instantly.

Her eyes narrowed thoughtfully.

Simultaneously, she discreetly sent out another secret message:

To investigate Elder Qing Teng covertly.

In a secluded valley,

Shi Changxin wandered weakly.

After an indeterminate amount of time,

he ceased his aimless wandering and found a stone to sit cross-legged upon.

Just as Shi Changxin settled down,

a parrot landed before him.

“Shi Changxin, do you comprehend the significance of Kangzhuang City? Due to your foolishness, it was utterly destroyed. Are you aware of the consequences?” The crow spoke, immediately launching into interrogation.

Shi Changxin remained expressionless.

“I’ve warned you all from the beginning; what you’re doing would inevitably be discovered one day. It is your arrogance that led to the loss of Kangzhuang City – how does this involve me?”

The parrot’s tone grew increasingly angry.

“Why did you flee without even fighting? Remember, everything you possess today was granted by our lord! Just as he can bestow these upon you, he can also take them away!”

Shi Changxin let out a cold snort.

“Actually, I’d like to question you about the Blood Pill Cultivation Technique you provided. There seems to be an issue with it; my foundation feels unstable now, and I’m even experiencing severe anemia!”

The parrot appeared momentarily stunned.

It quickly scanned Shi Changxin’s physical condition, confirming his words.

Indeed, his foundation was shaky,

and he had lost more than half of his blood volume.

Had it not been for his Golden Core cultivation base,

such extreme anemia might have endangered his life.

Even more absurdly,

his foundation did indeed appear somewhat unstable.

“This-this can’t be! The cultivation technique given by our lord is flawless; I’ve practiced the same method myself!” exclaimed the parrot.

Shi Changxin frowned deeply.

“Then tell me, why am I suffering from anemia? Don’t blame it on me; as a Golden Core cultivator, there’s no way I should experience such a condition. Ever since I started practicing your technique, first I endured kidney pain, then this anemia, and now my foundation is weakening!”

The parrot seemed equally bewildered.
