Extra Chapter: 8/20

At this moment, Liu Shunyi had shed all traces of fear.

Instead, his eyes brimmed with unmistakable killing intent.

“Zzzt…”

As he circulated his spiritual energy, thunder crackled around him.

Even the wooden sword, a Magic Artifact, floated automatically at Liu Shunyi’s side, as if awaiting command, ready to strike at any instant.

Ji Suying found this behavior unusual and quickly followed Liu Shunyi’s gaze.

She discovered that Liu Shunyi was intensely staring at a particular individual.

This person sported a small mustache beneath their nose, with both their expression and smile appearing lewd and unsavory. They were physically short, with only a tuft of hair remaining on top of their head.

Their appearance was peculiar; although human, they seemed somewhat unnatural.

“Junior Brother, do you have a grudge against this person?” Ji Suying asked.

Liu Shunyi’s gaze remained sharp, his expression solemn.

“If he truly is who I suspect, then yes, we share a blood feud!” As he spoke, Liu Shunyi took a step forward.

Ji Suying hastily intervened. “Junior Brother, don’t let hatred cloud your judgment. This man is at the Peak Foundation Establishment stage and a blood puppet master, likely surrounded by countless blood puppets. Confronting him now would be suicide. However, rest assured, Junior Brother, since he bears ill will towards you, I shall personally execute him.”

Liu Shunyi’s stubbornness flared up.

“No, I must cut him down with my own hands.”

Ji Suying shook her head firmly.

“Absolutely not. This person belongs to the Heavenly God Cult; even our sect hesitates to confront them directly. If you take his life, it will undoubtedly bring trouble upon us. Let me handle this; regardless of their cult’s reputation, I am unafraid.”

Liu Shunyi frowned deeply.

“Heavenly God Cult? Are all its members like this?”

Ji Suying nodded slightly.

“More or less!”

Suddenly, Liu Shunyi burst out laughing.

“Hmph, ha ha ha… Good, good, excellent!” His entire body trembled with joy.

This was the cultivation world after all.

As long as he possessed the strength,

he could finally pursue what he had always wanted to achieve.

Now, hearing that there were many others like this individual,

how could Liu Shunyi not feel exhilarated?!

Ji Suying’s expression turned peculiar, masking her growing inner fury.

She had heard whispers about the deeds of the Heavenly God Cult,

including rumors that numerous evil cultivation techniques originated from them.

However, the major sects had never found concrete evidence,

leaving them without justification to eradicate the Heavenly God Cult outright.

It was indeed quite strange.

Whenever she encountered members of the Heavenly God Cult, it stirred deep-seated displeasure within her, often making her want to immediately kill their disciples.

However, her status as the Qinglian Sect’s representative often restrained her from taking action.

Contrastingly, Liu Shunyi now appeared remarkably calm.

“Senior Sister, if this person is indeed from the Heavenly God Cult and openly uses evil cultivation techniques, isn’t that alone enough evidence for condemnation?”

Ji Suying shook her head.

“He’s just a disciple at the Peak of Foundation Establishment, lacking significant standing. Moreover, the Heavenly God Cult has always been shameless. Even if he truly belongs to them, if his plan succeeds, they might acknowledge him. But if it fails, they’ll vehemently deny any connection, leaving us with no recourse!”

Liu Shunyi nodded, falling silent after her explanation.

Ji Suying also ceased speaking.

Instead, Chen Qiaoli stepped forward towards Liu Shunyi.

Quietly, she produced a Demon Subduing Pestle and handed it to him.

“This seems particularly effective against evil cultivators.”

Gratefully accepting the pestle, Liu Shunyi quickly thanked her.

“Many thanks, Senior Sister!”

Chen Qiaoli waved off his gratitude and retreated back among the group.

As time passed,

all the Qinglian Sect’s Outer Sect disciples reassembled.

Once gathered, they began tallying the casualties.

Initially, over three hundred Outer Sect disciples had descended.

After just one wave of assault,

only seventy-plus remained.

Furthermore, these survivors were either severely injured or barely functional.

Some, like Liu Shunyi, who hid from the start, although uninjured, appeared ghastly pale and incapable of further combat.

Outside Kangzhuang City,

the Qinglian Sect’s Foundation Establishment Disciples, after clearing the Blood Puppets, started returning to their flying boats.

However, Ji Suying and the leading elder did not relax for a moment.

Naturally, Chen Nian remained vigilant as well,

his gaze fixed intently on the short and grotesque dwarf!

Noticing the dwarf’s narrowed eyes with a faint hint of a smile, Liu Shunyi felt something was amiss.

“Something’s off! I think this bastard is stalling for time; they must have some plan!” Liu Shunyi urgently whispered to Ji Suying.

Ji Suying’s fingers tapped incessantly on her sword sheath,

her eyes also narrowing as she observed the dwarf closely.

“That’s precisely why I’ve been hesitant to act,” she replied. “My people are currently investigating what scheme this dwarf has in mind, or perhaps more broadly, what the Heavenly God Cult is planning!”

While they conversed,

Suddenly, a blue butterfly descended from the sky.

Ji Suying extended her finger, and the butterfly gracefully landed on it.

In the next moment, Ji Suying’s expression turned grim.

“Well played, Heavenly God Cult! Well played, Kangzhuang City!”

Without elaborating to Liu Shunyi, she approached the elder and whispered something urgently.

However, within seconds, they began arguing heatedly. The specifics of their dispute were unclear to Liu Shunyi, as his attention remained fixed on the dwarf.

At that precise moment, Liu Shunyi’s Grand Dao Golden Book vibrated again, and the golden brush resumed writing:

“Elder Qing Teng, violet extreme grade!”

Liu Shunyi, startled, glanced at Elder Qing Teng who was watching him closely.

“Does he want me dead? Why?”

Noticing Liu Shunyi’s gaze, Elder Qing Teng smiled faintly before continuing his argument with Ji Suying.

After some time had passed,

Ji Suying returned to Liu Shunyi, visibly flushed with anger.

“What happened?” Liu Shunyi asked.

Taking a deep breath, Ji Suying replied, “Our investigators discovered that our Qinglian Sect’s earth veins seem to be gradually depleting, albeit very subtly. Initially, we couldn’t determine the cause, but now it appears there might be a connection to Kangzhuang City.”

“I urged Elder Qing Teng to immediately seize Kangzhuang City, but he insisted it’s too significant a matter and we should not act rashly. Since Shi Changxin hasn’t been located yet, capturing him is crucial; without apprehending the main culprit, this mission loses its purpose. As for my intelligence, he dismissed it as alarmist exaggeration.”

Liu Shunyi frowned.

“May I ask, did you discuss anything else with him?”

Ji Suying found this somewhat peculiar.

“Elder Qing Teng questioned why I kept staring at the blood puppet master, so I simply replied, ‘We have a grudge!'”

Liu Shunyi’s expression turned icy cold.

He was now certain of one thing: Elder Qing Teng must be someone enjoying a comfortable life.

“Senior Sister, do you hold any influence here?” Liu Shunyi asked directly.

Ji Suying hesitated briefly before responding, “Yes, I do!”

“Then issue the command,” Liu Shunyi instructed firmly. “Order a full-scale attack on Kangzhuang City, aiming for its complete destruction. However, beware of Qing Teng!”

Instantly comprehending his intent, Ji Suying affirmed, “Understood!”
