Extra Chapter: 4/20

Initially, Liu Shunyi indeed planned to sneak into Wicked Valley unnoticed.

However, what he didn’t anticipate was that upon entering its outskirts, within an instant, over a dozen blades were instantly pressed against his neck.

To his shock, all these individuals were damn Foundation Establishment Cultivators!

Liu Shunyi was utterly dumbfounded.

Having lived in this world for years, he had encountered fewer than ten Foundation Establishment Cultivators altogether.

The sudden appearance of so many at once in such a seemingly ordinary Wicked Valley caught Liu Shunyi completely off guard.

Resistance? There was no way he could resist.

After all, he faced not just one enemy but multiple.

What left Liu Shunyi most speechless was:

Although they captured him, there was no reaction from the Grand Dao Golden Book.

No reaction implied that these people did not intend to kill him, making the situation quite perplexing.

Even with the Grand Dao Golden Book and his combat abilities, surviving under the onslaught of numerous Foundation Establishment Cultivators seemed impossible.

Wait.

Before entering, Liu Shunyi had carefully observed the surroundings.

Outside Wicked Valley stood a massive cauldron, adorned with mysterious inscriptions clearly indicating it as a Magic Artifact.

What intrigued Liu Shunyi the most was the presence of numerous dried bones scattered around the cauldron.

Inside the cauldron, something was continuously being refined.

In other words, anyone captured here ultimately faced death.

If their fate is certain to be death,

then why aren’t their names written in the Grand Dao Golden Book?

Liu Shunyi slightly closed his eyes, focusing on examining the Grand Dao Golden Book within his mind.

The golden book showed no reaction, but the golden brush continued emitting its radiant glow.

“What does this mean?” Liu Shunyi pondered, momentarily perplexed.

The state of the golden brush indicated it was ready to inscribe, yet it hesitated – why?

As if sensing Liu Shunyi’s confusion, the golden brush flew up and landed on the Grand Dao Golden Book, swiftly writing a line:

“Unworthy as adversaries!”

Liu Shunyi blinked, bewildered.

Wait, what?

Are you seriously overestimating me that much? These are all Foundation Establishment cultivators, for crying out loud! What do you mean “unworthy as adversaries”?

Soon, Chen Qiaoli provided Liu Shunyi with an answer.

“Junior Brother, how come I don’t sense any restrictions on you?”

Feeling somewhat awkward, Liu Shunyi recalled that upon entering, there indeed were constraints on him. However, those restrictions had been transferred onto Chen Beiping instead.

He attempted to explain, “Perhaps, our individual constitutions might differ!”

Chen Qiaoli hesitated, unsure whether to believe Liu Shunyi.

However, if he indeed had no restrictions and could utilize his cultivation base, that was undoubtedly advantageous.

With this thought, Chen Qiaoli approached Liu Shunyi.

“Junior Brother, place your hand here and activate your cultivation base!” As she spoke, Chen Qiaoli pulled down her collar slightly.

Liu Shunyi blinked, momentarily taken aback.

His first reaction was:

How fair…

“Slap!”

A swift slap landed on his head.

“Stop staring! Hurry up!”

Liu Shunyi hastily nodded.

“Oh, right!”

As Liu Shunyi placed his hand on Chen Qiaoli’s chest and channeled his magical energy, there was a sudden crack.

Instantly, Chen Qiaoli tightened her collar.

“Let’s go, we’ll fight our way out first!” With those words, she stood up, revealing a long sword now held in her hand.

Liu Shunyi was bewildered.

“But Senior Sister, there are over two hundred Foundation Establishment Cultivators surrounding us inside and out!”

Chen Qiaoli shook her head.

“Yes, their cultivations may be at Foundation Establishment, but they were forcefully elevated through unorthodox means. Their unstable foundations barely match our sect’s Qi Refining Seventh Layer. Moreover, I’ve noticed these individuals are actually puppets with no independent thoughts; they act purely on instinct, making them far inferior to us!”

Liu Shunyi instantly grasped the Grand Dao Golden Book’s implication.

If that were true,

these individuals indeed lacked the qualifications to be formidable adversaries.

But wait, could it be…

Am I actually complaining about having too few enemies to substitute my death?

“No, Grand Dao Golden Book, at least arrange for a couple of them!”

The Grand Dao Golden Book remained unresponsive.

Alright then.

Liu Shunyi realized he couldn’t sway this artifact anymore.

He promptly drew his own sword and charged forward alongside Chen Qiaoli.

Moments later, Liu Shunyi was utterly dumbfounded.

As they followed Chen Qiaoli’s lead, the patrolling guards indeed behaved like puppets, mechanically going about their tasks. It seemed as if they didn’t notice the two intruders at all.

They effortlessly made their way out of Wicked Valley.

Liu Shunyi felt like he was dreaming.

“That’s how easy?”

Chen Qiaoli hastily began removing her clothes while urging Liu Shunyi:

“Hurry up, take yours off too!”

Liu Shunyi struggled to comprehend what was happening.

“Quickly!”

“Oh, right!”

Liu Shunyi swiftly stripped off his clothing and changed back into his original attire.

When Liu Shunyi turned to look at Chen Qiaoli again, he found himself somewhat bewildered.

Feeling somewhat bewildered, Liu Shunyi noticed that Chen Qiaoli was only wearing a bandeau top and shorts.

“Senior Sister, don’t you have any other clothes?” he asked, blushing deeply.

Indeed, Chen Qiaoli’s figure was simply irresistible.

Chen Qiaoli responded confidently:

“I do, but not now!”

With a teasing gaze, she looked at Liu Shunyi.

Initially, Liu Shunyi didn’t understand her words, but soon it became clear as his clothing burst into flames. The blaze quickly spread from his garments towards his body.

Terrified, Liu Shunyi hastily stripped off his burning clothes.

“Hurry, let’s go!” Without further explanation, Chen Qiaoli turned and swiftly departed.

Liu Shunyi followed without hesitation, promptly leaving with her.

After an unknown amount of time, Chen Qiaoli led Liu Shunyi to a hidden cave.

Unsurprisingly, this was a carefully prepared refuge by Chen Qiaoli herself, intended for emergencies.

Once inside the cave, Liu Shunyi felt both relieved and grateful.

Without hesitation, Chen Qiaoli used the Fireball Technique to warm him for nearly an hour.

Now thoroughly reddened and still smoking, Liu Shunyi couldn’t help but ask, perplexed:

“Senior Sister, although I don’t know your true cultivation level, it must be quite high. With such prowess, how could you have been captured?”

Chen Qiaoli, munching on some food, explained between bites:

“My cultivation hasn’t reached the Golden Core stage yet, so naturally, I’m no match for a Golden Core cultivator, especially when caught off guard!”

Liu Shunyi blinked, bewildered – Golden Core? Ambush?!

Instantly, he recalled the City Lord of Kangzhuang City.

“No way!” He felt overwhelmed.

Chen Qiaoli nodded affirmatively.

“It was indeed the City Lord of Kangzhuang.”

Scratching his head, Liu Shunyi asked:

“Why didn’t we report directly to the sect instead of hiding here?”

Chen Qiaoli shook her head.

“Do you remember that flame?”

Liu Shunyi nodded.

“That was a warning signal. When we first escaped, if we had simply shed our clothes and left without causing further attention, the City Lord might have assumed we perished. But with the second burst of flames, he likely realized someone managed to escape. By now, the City Lord is probably already at Wicked Valley, possibly even intensifying efforts to scrutinize everyone returning to Qinglian Sect.”
