Thanks to My Enemy, I Become Immortal Emperor - Chapter 125
Liu Shunyi and his group entered the Inner City.
This delighted the hovering God’s Resenments above.
“Yama has finally left!” exclaimed one of them, even uttering human speech with a triumphant cry.
With the first, more followed suit.
Soon, eerie laughter filled the entire Outer City.
The resentful spirits eagerly unleashed all their pent-up frustration at once.
Coincidentally, almost all members of the Heaven Wrath Temple were currently lurking within the Giant God City’s Outer City.
Their presence turned the eyes of the God’s Resenments crimson with fury.
“Kill, kill, kill, kill…” The voices of the God’s Resenments echoed faster and faster, culminating in terrifying sound waves.
“Crack! Crack! Crack…”
The Soul-Shielding Pearls worn by the Heaven Wrath Temple members shattered instantly under the force of these sound waves.
As soon as their pearls broke,
the God’s Resenments descended upon them.
The members of the Heaven Wrath Temple stood stunned.
“Puff…”
Without the protection of their Soul-Shielding Pearls, they were immediately engulfed by the God’s Resenments.
In no time, the vengeful spirits began to fight over the corpses of the Heaven Wrath Temple members, leading to a scene of gruesome bloodshed…
The Deputy Temple Lord of Heaven Wrath Temple was reviewing a report from his subordinates.
An unexpected turn of events had occurred during their hunting expedition outside Giant God City.
Nearly all members of the Heaven Wrath Temple were ambushed and slain by an unknown force.
In response, the Twelve Deputies of Heaven Wrath Temple went to investigate.
The findings were startling.
The group responsible for the attacks was called Yama Palace.
Reading “Yama Palace,” the Deputy Temple Lord couldn’t help but furrow his brow. He turned to the eye floating in mid-air and asked, “What do you make of this?”
The eye studied the words “Yama Palace” for a moment before remaining silent. Then it shook its head, saying, “Although there may be slight deviations from history, the overall direction remains unchanged. Originally, our members stationed on the outskirts were mostly insignificant.”
“This detail is inconsequential; as long as nothing goes awry within Giant God City, everything remains under control!”
Just then, another individual rushed frantically into the hall.
“My lords, it’s not good! Our brothers in Giant God City have been nearly annihilated instantaneously. Even the five esteemed adults’ fates are now uncertain!”
The Deputy Temple Lord fell silent, and so did the eye hovering in mid-air.
After a moment, the Deputy Temple Lord waved his hand, dismissing the individual.
Once the person left, the Deputy Temple Lord turned back to the eye.
“Well?”
The eyes disappeared briefly, only to reappear shortly after.
“The God’s Resentment in Giant God City’s Outer City has erupted into chaos. Our brethren have fallen at its hands. Moreover, Five Wraths have already entered the Inner City. Send your forces there directly; after all, the Inner City is where most low-level Cultivators gather. When the time comes, we can sweep them all in one go!”
The Deputy Temple Lord nodded.
“How many should we send this time?”
The eyes pondered for a moment before responding, “Half a million!”
The Deputy Temple Lord’s eyes widened.
“Half of our forces? What if they all perish?”
The eyes displayed disdain.
“Fear not. The Three ‘Heavens’ are within the Inner City, and they will oversee our people when the time comes. Everything remains under control!”
The Deputy Temple Lord hesitated but ultimately acquiesced.
Fine then. If you say it’s under control, we’ll proceed as you suggest.
Upon entering the Inner City, Liu Shunyi and Zhao Gou exchanged glances, both wondering if they had arrived at the wrong place.
What they found was not just any location, but rather, a small world within itself.
The most peculiar aspect was that people lived here – ordinary humans.
To be more precise, it resembled a typical human society.
Carriages drawn by horses and oxen traversed the roads, farmers tended their fields, and even roving knights could be seen. There were also students pursuing their education.
Is this seriously a secret realm? Both Liu Shunyi and Zhao Gou found it hard to believe.
At that moment, the sycophantic old man spoke up, “Within this Grotto Heaven, true equality prevails. No matter your status outside, once you enter here, all become…”
Before he could finish, his eyes widened in shock.
He observed Liu Shunyi and Zhao Gou effortlessly circulating their magical energy, with their cultivation bases seemingly unaffected.
“How is this possible?” The old man attempted to circulate his own magical energy, only to find it firmly suppressed. Completely bewildered, he stammered, “Who… what are you?”
Liu Shunyi and Zhao Gou replied in unison, “Yama Palace, King of Hell!”
The old man fell silent, momentarily speechless. All he could muster was, “Well then… Lord Yama, truly awe-inspiring.”
Liu Shunyi turned to the old man, asking, “How well do you know this world?”
The old man shook his head. “Not very much!”
Liu Shunyi narrowed his eyes. “Really?”
The old man nodded affirmatively. “Indeed, although I do have basic knowledge. For instance, the place we’re currently in should be called Liang Province!”
“As for anything beyond that, my understanding is quite limited!”
Liu Shunyi acknowledged this with a nod. “Let’s move on; first, we need to find somewhere to settle down!”
Eventually, the trio entered an inn within Liang City.
Along their journey, Liu Shunyi noticed something peculiar. Being inside this heavenly abode, the concentration of spiritual energy was unimaginably dense. Even more striking, medicinal herbs that would typically captivate both Liu Shunyi and Zhao Gou were abundant by the roadside!
Yet amidst such an environment, none of the locals possessed any cultivation base. Some practiced martial arts, instinctively absorbing spiritual energy through physical training, but the highest level Liu Shunyi observed was merely Foundation Establishment.
Even those at Foundation Establishment seemed like formidable heroes, causing others to hastily step aside upon seeing them.
“This is quite abnormal!” Liu Shunyi remarked.
Zhao Gou echoed his frustration, “The most concerning aspect is that everyone here appears to be afflicted with a strange disease!”
Liu Shunyi’s eyes widened. “What kind of disease?”
Zhao Gou whispered, “Rather than calling it a disease, it seems more like a curse. This Curse appears to erode their Spirit Roots and diminish their spiritual perception, as if deliberately hindering their ability to cultivate.”
Intrigued, Liu Shunyi asked, “Can you cure it?”
Uncharacteristically, Zhao Gou shook his head. “With my current abilities, I cannot.”
This revelation surprised Liu Shunyi; it was his first time hearing Zhao Gou mention an incurable ailment.
Zhao Gou proceeded to explain, “The curse is an exceptionally sophisticated technique. While I know how to treat it, I lack the necessary power. This curse has persisted for countless years and has deeply integrated into their bloodlines. To cure them, one would require immense magical energy to repeatedly purge the affliction.”
Liu Shunyi was astounded. “Wow, what could these people have done to be cursed so severely!”
However, there was no response.
“Come here…”
Suddenly, Liu Shunyi felt as if he were experiencing auditory hallucinations, hearing a woman’s voice.
Uncertain, he glanced around cautiously.
“Come, come to me… I’m waiting by the riverbank!”
This time, Liu Shunyi was convinced it wasn’t just his imagination.
He scanned his surroundings but saw no one, promptly dismissing the voice.
“You must come… I have something for you…”
The woman’s voice echoed again.
Liu Shunyi noticed a green name appearing on the Grand Dao Golden Book. Without hesitation, he activated the Blood Combustion Divine Fist slightly, causing the green name to instantly vanish.
