Thanks to My Enemy, I Become Immortal Emperor - Chapter 123
“Clang…”
As the doors of the Thousand Hands Bodhisattva temple closed behind them,
Liu Shunyi and Zhao Gou swiftly sprang into action.
“Puff, puff, puff…”
In less than ten minutes, they had eliminated everyone inside.
The ruthless efficiency left the old man trembling with fear.
Their unhesitant brutality stemmed from the fact that these individuals belonged to the Heaven Wrath Temple. In many ways, the Yama Palace and the Heaven Wrath Temple were already sworn enemies.
Thus, Liu Shunyi and Zhao Gou showed no mercy in their assault.
After dispatching all within the temple, Zhao Gou once again turned his attention to experimenting with his medical skills. However, as he gazed upon the statue of the Thousand Hands Bodhisattva, his eyes suddenly lit up.
He looked at the old man.
“Do you want normal hands like others?”
The old man’s expression froze.
Glancing at the Thousand Hands Bodhisattva statue, seemingly realizing something, he hastily shook his head.
“No, I don’t want it!”
As soon as he spoke, the old man attempted to flee.
But Liu Shunyi grabbed him firmly.
“Don’t worry, trust my brother’s medical expertise; this might be your chance for transformation!”
The old man swallowed nervously.
“Can… can I decline this chance?”
Liu Shunyi chuckled softly.
With a thud, he produced the grinding stone mill and tossed it onto the ground.
Tears welled up in the old man’s eyes.
After half an hour:
Numerous arms sprouted from the old man’s back.
Surprisingly, he could effortlessly control them at will.
Moreover,
With just a single thought from the old man,
All the arms retracted seamlessly, leaving no trace visible to outsiders.
Zhao Gou observed the old man with great satisfaction.
“You are truly my most remarkable masterpiece!”
At that moment, two hands leaped onto the old man’s shoulders, their fingers dancing restlessly as if expressing discontentment.
Zhao Gou smiled warmly.
“Of course, you two as well!”
Meanwhile, Liu Shunyi gazed intently at the Thousand Hands Bodhisattva statue, lost in deep contemplation.
“What are you thinking about?” Zhao Gou asked curiously.
Liu Shunyi turned to Zhao Gou and replied, “Your technique, although rooted in medicine, feels more akin to puppetry. However, it surpasses traditional puppetry in sophistication!”
Zhao Gou pondered this insight and nodded in agreement.
Liu Shunyi then turned to Zhao Gou and asked, “Given your understanding of the body’s meridians, even comprehending them intimately, I wonder if it’s possible to infuse this Thousand Hands Bodhisattva with similar channels and a soul, bringing it to life?”
Zhao Gou’s eyes widened.
“Why didn’t I think of that before?” However, as he gazed at the colossal statue, he couldn’t help but shake his head. “But there aren’t enough meridians available for something so massive!”
Liu Shunyi chuckled slyly. “Where exactly are we? Inside a secret realm! Consider this – is there a shortage of people within the secret realm?”
“Moreover, members of the Heaven Wrath Temple have already infiltrated earlier than expected. Perfect timing, really. The secret realm itself will effectively filter them out; we won’t risk killing the wrong individuals!”
Zhao Gou’s eyes lit up with excitement.
The old man, listening to their conversation, lowered his head, his pupils continuously contracting.
Meanwhile, at one of the Heaven Wrath Temple’s outposts within Giant God City, First Fury appeared utterly stunned.
“One of our outposts has been wiped out?”
Second Fury nodded.
“However, it likely wasn’t done by Cultivators. They died too swiftly for any Cultivator to achieve that; it must have been some peculiar entity within Giant God City.”
First Fury agreed with this explanation.
In his perception, Cultivators simply couldn’t infiltrate their territory.
“Which outpost was it?”
Second Fury replied, “The Thousand Hands Bodhisattva Shrine!”
Hearing this, First Fury showed no surprise whatsoever.
“It must have been some fool who awakened the Thousand Hands Bodhisattva and got annihilated. Send more forces to continue monitoring the Thousand Hands Bodhisattva Shrine. It holds significant opportunities, so Cultivators will undoubtedly be drawn there – making it an ideal hunting ground for us.”
Second Fury nodded in agreement.
“Oh right, there’s another matter!”
At that moment, Second Fury retrieved two heads from his space ring.
One was a bull head, and the other, a horse head.
First Fury furrowed his brow.
“What are these?”
Scratching his head, Second Fury replied, “I found these during my patrol for training purposes. These heads seem more effective than our Soul Repelling Pearls; they can directly absorb God’s Resenment.”
“Moreover, after absorbing it, they become even harder!”
As he spoke, Second Fury lightly tapped one of the heads.
The bull head resonated with a metallic sound upon each tap.
Intrigued, First Fury exclaimed, “Such remarkable treasures!”
He then picked up the horse head to examine it closely.
After scrutinizing both heads, First Fury’s voice turned cold.
“They somewhat resemble descriptions of certain divine beings mentioned in our records!”
Unfazed, Second Fury dismissed this concern, saying, “Who cares? They may still be useful, but ultimately, they’re just dead objects!”
First Fury nodded in agreement.
With that, they each took the bull and horse heads respectively.
“Something isn’t right!”
Zhao Gou, intent on reviving the colossal Thousand Hands Bodhisattva statue, began meticulously measuring it and preparing to create openings within the sculpture. This would allow for better infusion of energy along its meridians.
As he explored, Zhao Gou discovered that the Thousand Hands Bodhisattva seemed to possess internal meridians, albeit completely dried up.
Upon this realization, Zhao Gou hastily descended from the statue and shared his findings with Liu Shunyi.
Liu Shunyi frowned, unable to hide his surprise. “Are you certain you didn’t misinterpret anything?”
Zhao Gou nodded confidently. “I have great faith in my medical knowledge; I definitely did not mistake it.”
Liu Shunyi squinted at the compassionate-looking Thousand Hands Bodhisattva.
“Chuckles, who knew this secret realm holds such unexpected complexities.” After a moment of hesitation, he asked again, “Can you heal this Thousand Hands Bodhisattva?”
Zhao Gou scratched his head. “Heal a statue? I’ve never tried before!”
“Well then, give it a try!”
Zhao Gou nodded.
He then flew to the top of the Thousand Hands Bodhisattva and began emitting his green spiritual energy continuously.
After attempting to heal for a while, Zhao Gou gave up.
“It’s no use. Although it has meridians, they have been dried out for too long. There’s simply no way to restore them unless we infuse it with a large amount of blood.”
Without hesitation, Liu Shunyi sliced open his hand, allowing blood to flow freely.
Zhao Gou was momentarily speechless.
“We don’t need to be this extreme!”
Liu Shunyi shook his head with a smile.
“Don’t worry! Just go ahead and use as much as needed!”
Seeing Liu Shunyi’s unwavering expression, Zhao Gou reluctantly agreed.
“Alright, but if you can’t handle it anymore, let me know immediately.”
Liu Shunyi nodded firmly.
With their combined efforts, they started injecting blood into the statue!
The old man, hiding in a corner, watched this absurd scene, feeling utterly stunned. Initially, he thought these two Yamas were ruthless only towards others, never expecting them to be equally merciless even towards themselves!
