Thanks to My Enemy, I Become Immortal Emperor - Chapter 104
When Leng Shuang woke up again, she stared bewildered at the scene before her.
The corpses, still those same corpses, had not moved from their positions.
And as for herself,
she remained seated on the ground, hands covering her face.
“Did I just have a nightmare?” Leng Shuang muttered uncertainly.
After some thought, she picked up a small stone and threw it towards the group of corpses.
The pebble accurately struck one corpse’s head.
There was no movement or reaction whatsoever.
Leng Shuang then grabbed a larger rock, leaving the Yama Palace members momentarily speechless.
“Bang!”
The stone hit another corpse, eliciting absolutely no response.
Leng Shuang hesitated briefly before summoning more energy with a wave of her hand.
“Rumble…”
A massive boulder levitated effortlessly in the air.
The Yama Palace members began to sweat profusely, thinking:
“Is this girl mentally unstable?”
Just as they were about to inadvertently reveal themselves, someone called out to Leng Shuang.
“Hold it! What are you doing?”
Leng Shuang trembled with fear.
Turning back, he noticed a strikingly beautiful woman glaring at him furiously.
“Lord Seventh, I-I-I…” Leng Shuang stammered, trying to explain but unsure how to justify his reaction without embarrassing herself. She couldn’t possibly admit that a group of corpses had startled her; it would be too humiliating.
The woman known as Lord Seventh wore a frigid expression. “Get out of my way!”
Leng Shuang hastily bowed her head. “Yes, Lord Seventh!”
As soon as Leng Shuang moved aside, members of the Heaven Wrath Temple swiftly surrounded the area.
Ignoring the corpses on the ground, Lord Seventh proceeded directly towards the cave entrance.
Upon seeing the gourd inside, she was momentarily stunned. She then pulled out a scroll and compared it with the black gourd.
“But according to these records, the Dust Cleansing Gourd is supposed to be purple. Why is this one black?!” Confused, she walked around to the other side of the gourd.
There, she spotted its menacing grin and involuntarily glanced back at Leng Shuang outside the cave. “Is this what you call benevolent?”
Leng Shuang shrank nervously, and moments later, his figure vanished from the blind spot near the cave entrance.
Seventh was at a loss for words.
“Although it may seem different, this is indeed the Dust Cleansing Gourd. Guards, take it away!” she shouted.
However, despite her calls, no one appeared.
“Where have they all disappeared to?” Seventh angrily stormed out of the cave.
Just as she stepped outside,
Bang!
Her vision went dark, and she collapsed onto the ground.
“Swish… Swish…”
Liu Shunyi and Zhao Gou suddenly materialized nearby.
“Go ahead!”
Zhao Gou nodded in agreement.
Liu Shunyi immediately controlled the black gourd, extracting blood and divine soul energy from the unconscious individuals. Meanwhile, Zhao Gou provided healing assistance on the sidelines.
The other members of the Yama Palace, tasked with preventing anyone from waking up, watched in awe and fear.
Even though those lying on the ground were unconscious, their bodies continuously twitched.
“That’s the power of our Kings Yama!”
This spectacle further solidified the group’s loyalty to the Yama Palace, deepening their respect for Liu Shunyi and Zhao Gou.
Perhaps due to familiarity gained from previous experience, Liu Shunyi and Zhao Gou worked seamlessly together this time. They drained each person’s liver to its maximum capacity before stopping.
Next, Liu Shunyi administered a Sorrow Forgetting Pill to each individual, instructing the Yama Palace members to transport them back outside. As an added gesture, they set up tents for the unconscious people, ensuring they could rest comfortably.
Having completed their tasks, Liu Shunyi distributed some blood pills and Divine Soul Pills among the Yama Palace members before disappearing again with Zhao Gou.
The next morning.
Seventh, lips pale and somewhat bewildered, stood outside the tent.
Not only did she feel thirsty, but also had a slight headache.
Instinctively, she placed a hand on her abdomen, sensing a dull pain in her liver area.
What puzzled her most was:
Did we set up this tent yesterday?
“Ah~” Seventh rubbed her temples. “I can’t quite remember!”
Moments later, several members of the Heaven Wrath Temple emerged from the tents, their lips pale and equally confused.
Their expressions seemed to convey: “Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing here?”
Seventh spoke up, “Who built these tents last night? Why were we resting here?”
Everyone looked utterly perplexed.
Seventh furrowed her brow. “Check your belongings carefully, see if anything is missing or if you’re injured!”
The group thoroughly examined themselves once again.
Finally, they all shook their heads.
“No injuries, just feeling a bit thirsty and…some liver discomfort!”
Given this situation, Seventh decided not to act hastily.
“Well then, let’s rest and adjust for now. We’ll investigate further tonight!”
The group nodded in agreement.
On the third morning.
A bewildered Lord Seventh stood outside their tent once again.
The fourth day, fifth day, sixth day…
By the eighth day.
Lord Seventh could no longer stand without feeling dizzy.
Upon examining her body internally, she discovered that her blood volume was alarmingly low.
“What’s happening? Are we cursed?”
Shakily, with a cane for support, Lord Seventh ventured out of the tent.
To her surprise, everyone from the Heaven Wrath Temple appeared pale and weak, leaning on each other for assistance.
Despite being young, they all looked frail and aged beyond their years.
Lord Seventh was utterly perplexed.
“Can someone please explain what’s going on here? Also, remind me, why did we come to this place? Why are we even here?”
At that moment, one member of the Heaven Wrath Temple clutched at their liver.
“My lord, let’s set aside other matters for now. Have you been experiencing sharp pains in your liver?”
Seventh nodded hesitantly.
“Yes, I have!”
The individual’s expression turned grim.
“I’ve just checked, and it seems our livers are showing signs of shrinkage, as if due to extreme overexertion.”
“If we don’t address this soon by consuming liver-nourishing foods, we may end up needing liver transplants.”
Lord Seventh was stunned.
“Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s find those foods immediately!”
“Yes, my lord!”
Thus, Lord Seventh watched as the group, supporting each other, made their way towards a nearby town.
In the blink of an eye, three days had passed.
Finally, their complexion began to improve.
It was then that Seventh suddenly remembered:
“Oh no! Our mission this time is about the Dust Cleansing Gourd. We must quickly check if it’s still there!”
Yet another day passed.
On this particular day, Lord Seventh appeared unusually pale.
As she sat in her wheelchair, being pushed to a small riverside, she sipped on chrysanthemum tea while staring blankly into the distance.
Lost in thought, questioning her very existence, she remained seated for hours.
It wasn’t until the sun began to set that Lord Seventh showed any signs of reaction.
Especially as darkness fell, an endless wave of fear surged within her heart.
“Is it night again?”
For some inexplicable reason,
every time evening arrived,
Lord Seventh felt her insides tremble uncontrollably.
