Chapter 10: The Saint of Southern Border Obsessed with Gu Poison 10

Nestled deep within Rosy Valley, the area was inaccessible without planting Gu poison in one’s body to counteract toxins. Jin Jiuzhou’s ability to traverse the Rosy Forest and reach Rosy Valley this time was only possible because he had been implanted with the Gu insect that was later sent back to Shangyun Capital.

But the capital’s rumors about the Valley Master’s extraordinary beauty were not unfounded.

Among the group of people who went missing two months prior, only one man was captured and then returned.

The reason was simple: he was too frail and lacked vital energy.

The tales of the Valley Master’s stunning appearance originated from this very man.

As the sole heir of the Zhenguo General’s Manor, Jin Jiuzhou was addressed as Young General by everyone in the capital. What kind of person had he not seen? Especially when it concerned another man.

Only someone like Lu Yi—a country bumpkin who had sneaked into Shangyun Capital—lacked such sophistication and nearly jeopardized the plans of the Emperor and Empress Dowager.

If the Swift Feather Guard is incompetent, others will naturally step in to claim credit for eliminating this demon. If not me, it will be someone else.

Hanging above the Five Venoms Cave, Jin Jiuzhou remained composed. They say Deputy Commander Lu hates evil so fiercely he’d personally hunt down suspects even for a missing chicken in a commoner’s home. Now that you have help, shouldn’t you be pleased?

I don’t need assistance, Lu Yi turned away, his bangs shadowing his expression. If the General’s Manor wants a share of the credit, we’ll each rely on our own capabilities.

They parted on bad terms.

Lu Yi stayed awake all night. The next morning, Xie Rong summoned him to the bamboo hut to test Gu poison.

Testing Gu poison meant exactly that.

Morning light filtered into the bamboo hut, illuminating the man kneeling with his back to the window, his upper body bare, the whip marks on his chest already scabbed over.

A sharp dagger pressed against his heart.

It won’t hurt much, it’ll be over soon, Xie Rong said dismissively, patting Lu Yi’s head before lightly slicing open a cut on his chest.

A ravenous Gu insect eagerly burrowed through the broken skin into the man’s body.

Lu Yi closed his eyes, gritting his teeth, his chest heaving violently as every muscle in his body tensed to its limit.

The Gu insect recklessly rampaged through his meridians, tormenting him more than the cruelest torture in the imperial prison.

Lu Yi looked up and saw that Xie Rong wasn’t watching him—his attention was entirely captured by the ugly Gu insect.

[Protagonist’s Pain Value +5. Current Pain Value: 59]

Xie Rong stared unblinkingly, fixated.

The Gu insect joyfully darted through the man’s meridians until, fully satiated, the swollen lump curled up near his heart and grew still.

Xie Rong extended his index finger and tapped the disobedient insect through the man’s sweat-dampened chest.

Come out, he commanded irritably.

The Gu insect slowly emerged from the wound and dropped into Xie Rong’s palm.

Cradling the plump, well-fed insect as if it were a rare treasure, his heterochromatic eyes gleamed, cheeks flushed with excitement. He eagerly stood up, scurried past the pale-faced man, and climbed into the bed.

The protagonist’s blood is truly different from other men’s, Xie Rong murmured to himself.

Compared to Gu insects fed by other men, the one in his palm was not only larger but also more lively.

Such an insect could lay ten times more eggs than an ordinary Gu insect at once.

The offspring would be more potent and harder to counteract—exactly what he desired.

Xie Rong placed the Gu insect into a bamboo tube and returned to sit on the low couch.

Lu Yi, you’re so amazing, he cupped the man’s face, lowered his head to kiss the pupils that were blurred with pain, and said softly with curved eyes, You’re better than all other men. I like you so much.

Lu Yi looked up at him, his pale lips moving slightly without uttering a word.

Xie Rong didn’t mind whether he responded or not, carefully wiping the blood from his chest before patiently applying medicine, murmuring to himself, Such precious blood mustn’t be wasted.

From now on, you’ll eat with me, Xie Rong pulled him up, pressed him against the edge of the low couch, and settled onto the man’s lap, wrapping his arms around Lu Yi’s neck with a sweet, innocent smile. Your body has just been injured. You need nourishment every day, otherwise I’ll feel heartbroken.

Lu Yi responded with a low murmur.

Pleased with this, Xie Rong opened his mouth as a reward, actively revealing his crimson tongue, allowing the man who became intoxicated at his kiss to indulge to his heart’s content.

Without suffering any real pain, he could make Lu Yi obediently feed his Gu insects for him – Xie Rong had never encountered such a profitable transaction.

He didn’t understand what it meant to show his tongue to a man, nor did he comprehend that the words of affection he casually uttered could carry deeper implications.

He loved Gu cultivation, loved the tingling pleasure when Gu insects and venomous snakes slid intimately across his skin, and naturally, he loved the strong man who could help him nurture powerful Gu insects.
