Suddenly Became a Boy – What Should I Do? - Chapter 71.3
“Sure!”
“Wait up.”
“I’m in. Let’s go!”
The three musketeers instantly responded. Then, all four turned their eyes to Lin Xin, silently staring at him for a full ten seconds until he caved. “Fine, I’ll go too,” he said with a resigned sigh.
As they prepared to leave, shouts of excitement echoed from outside the dorm. Zhang Shan and his crew exchanged knowing smirks.
The visiting dormmate, having already gathered his toiletries, went on ahead. By the time Lin Xin and his roommates arrived at the male bathhouse, the attendant at the front desk grumbled impatiently, “No private rooms left! Just use the common area. Take it or leave it; don’t block the line. Tons of people are here today.” Without waiting for a response, she snatched Lin Xin’s money, took a deposit, and handed him a locker key.
Entering the bathhouse with his basin, Lin Xin was greeted by the hazy sight of dozens of men through the thick steam. As he stepped in, dozens of eyes turned toward him, each following the same trajectory—from his face to his bare chest. With nothing to obstruct their view, their gazes drifted lower… until they hit the long, floor-dragging towel tied around his waist. Disappointed, the onlookers quickly looked away.
The heavy fog obscured their expressions, but Lin Xin could sense the intensity of their stares. Keeping a straight face, he chose a showerhead and joined the queue, waiting behind three or four others. He wasn’t sure when his turn would come.
Oddly, the men ahead of him, upon noticing him, began to act unusually courteous. Each one stepped aside, saying, “New face, huh? Freshman? Go ahead, take my spot.”
Despite being a returning student in the second semester, Lin Xin wondered why they assumed he was a freshman. He politely responded, “Oh, I couldn’t possibly,” even as his feet firmly claimed the offered spot.
Not wanting to waste the opportunity, Lin Xin quickly got to work washing his face and hair. His scrubbing grew increasingly vigorous, and soon even his eyes weren’t spared the shampoo’s sting. Closing his eyes tightly, Lin Xin blindly fumbled for his towel on the rack, only to find that it—and even the basin’s edges—had mysteriously vanished.
Desperate, Lin Xin used the towel tied around his waist to wipe his eyes. Moving quickly and trusting in the safety shorts underneath, he re-secured the towel before anyone could catch a glimpse. Fortunately, his overly curious dormmates were denied a show.
When Lin Xin opened his eyes, a familiar scent wafted into his nostrils. He recognized it immediately—the shower gel from Cheng Shiyin’s house. Glancing down, he realized the towel was the very same one he had used on his first visit to her home. Smiling, Lin Xin recalled the memory of sitting in her bathtub, vivid and tinged with an undeniable intimacy.
To the bystanders, however, Lin Xin’s smile seemed bizarre, and their imaginations ran wild. When his towel suddenly shifted upward, forming a small “mountain,” the scene erupted into chaos. Gossip spread like wildfire, with increasingly exaggerated versions reaching every corner of the bathhouse.
By the time the news reached the farthest corners of the bathhouse, the details had been twisted beyond recognition. A single voice from the corner summed up the sentiment, “He’s so manly!” The exclamation was accompanied by scattered chicken clucks and, surprisingly, some sobs from jealous onlookers.
Sensing trouble brewing, Lin Xin quickly dried off and hurried out of the bathhouse. By the time he was gone, however, his new title had spread across the campus, “Campus Alpha.”
Author’s Note
I just realized… this novel spends a lot of time describing Lin Xin’s… well, you get it.
Note, situations like this wouldn’t happen in real life!
As for the story, there are probably five to seven chapters left until it wraps up.
