Suddenly Became a Boy – What Should I Do? - Chapter 71.2
Even Lin Xin, clueless as he was, couldn’t miss the fact that his new roommates were giving him a not-so-subtle show of dominance. Judging by their posturing, Lin Xin wouldn’t be surprised if they conjured a heavenly stage and transformed into magical dance warriors to challenge him. The term “meathead” seemed tailor-made for these three.
As the dorm leader, Zhang Shan held the privilege of sitting on the folding stool. He hadn’t even spoken when Tan Ge, evidently in perfect sync with his thoughts, conveyed his intent, “Since you’ll be living with us from now on, you’ll have to follow our dorm rules. First, we need to establish your rank.”
Lin Xin immediately caught on and replied, “I’ll be 18 this September. How about you guys?”
To his surprise, all three shook their heads in unison, calling him “immature.”
“Then is it by height? Can I be second brother?” Lin Xin grinned, half-joking, at the prospect of these three volunteering to be his “little brothers.”
“Second brother? You?” Li Wenbo scoffed, his tone sharp from having been the one duped into carrying Lin Xin’s luggage earlier. “You’ve lived among girls for years without anyone noticing. Being our fourth brother is already a compliment.”
Lin Xin felt something barreling toward him, like Thomas the Tank Engine’s fastest friend—Gordon. But Lin Xin refused to board this train, opting instead to clam up. Beneath the blanket, his feet crept toward his shoes, ready to sprint out of this danger zone at the slightest chance. Tan Ge noticed the movement and signaled Li Wenbo to approach.
The sudden advance of the two sent Lin Xin into a state of fight-or-flight. He arched his body like a startled cat—not with feline flexibility but with the bulging biceps of a gym rat. His muscles pulsed menacingly, but the display didn’t deter the pair. Panicking, Lin Xin shouted, “Strength-wise, you two don’t stand a chance against me!” in a desperate attempt to intimidate them. Even so, he wasn’t entirely sure if his claim was true.
The two simply chuckled, holding up a ruler and a compass. “Do you know what these mean?” they asked, their mischievous grins growing wider.
Lin Xin, caught off guard, blurted out, “No rules, no standards?”
Taking advantage of Lin Xin’s momentary confusion, Li Wenbo, wielding the compass, suddenly executed a move called “Crow Takes Flight,” pinning Lin Xin firmly to the bed. He held the compass’s pointed tip against Lin Xin’s Adam’s apple, rendering him completely immobilized. Meanwhile, Tan Ge approached with a ruler, exaggerating a faux London accent as he chanted, “On, on, on,” while his other hand reached menacingly toward Lin Xin’s waistband.
…
Oddly enough, Lin Xin wasn’t worried. Fully recovered from his surgery, he was brimming with confidence. Not only was he proud of his size—one that would make even Gu Nian insecure—but he was also convinced of its aesthetically pleasing form.
After their “examination,” Zhang Shan declared, “Big Brother!”
From that moment on, Lin Xin was officially recognized as the alpha of Room 404.
The dorm’s group chat, filled with boys eagerly awaiting updates, received no direct data from Room 404. Instead, they were greeted with an image of a broken 15-centimeter ruler, a wordless statement of its futility.
That afternoon, as Lin Xin supervised the removal of the illegal wall lights, other dormmates came by for a visit. One of them pushed open the door and casually asked, “Hey, wanna hit the bathhouse?”
