After Lin Xin disappeared from sight, Li Li opened her photo album to compare the pictures she had just taken with those of other boys she had photographed in the past. Lin Xin’s features weren’t the most refined, nor was his face the most chiseled—he wasn’t even the most handsome she’d ever seen. Yet there was something uniquely captivating about him, an inexplicable aura that set him apart. As she zoomed in on the photo with her fingers, her gaze locked onto a bead of sweat sliding down from Lin Xin’s Adam’s apple. She couldn’t look away, briefly wondering, “Is my phone screen dirty? Does it need a lick to clean?”

She barely restrained herself from acting on that absurd thought and restored the photo to its original size—only to notice something amiss in what otherwise felt like a perfectly artistic shot. Behind the wire fence at the edge of the track stood a strange-looking figure with a peculiar expression.

He looked familiar.

Li Li quickly flipped through her phone, confirming her suspicion. It was him—the so-called robot prince from the Swan Lake performance last semester.

Frowning, she aggressively used the mosaic tool to blur out Ying Lun’s face, muttering to herself, “What’s with this guy? Bad acting, ugly face, and so attention-grabbing he ruined my perfect shot.” Once she was satisfied that his presence had been erased, Li Li posted the photo on the school forum with the title, “A New Campus Hunk After the Student Council President! See Him Early, Lick the Screen Early—Before It’s Too Late.”

Ying Lun’s appearance on the sports field wasn’t a coincidence. He had deliberately chosen this class to observe Lin Xin and gather details about him. After analyzing Lin Xin’s daily routines, Ying Lun realized with a start that he barely knew anything about him. Despite their time together in the student council, their interactions had fizzled out after the school festival. Ying Lun decided he needed to start from scratch to uncover the truth about what had happened that day.

His initial plan was to observe the people around Lin Xin for two days, then follow up with another two days of stealthy surveillance. Eventually, he even considered befriending Lin Xin for a week or—if necessary—using charm to get closer. But he wasn’t ready for that step yet.

Today, with a free period in his schedule, Ying Lun decided to move up his surveillance plans. However, as soon as he reached the sports field, he heard a booming, masculine voice claiming to be Lin Xin. His first reaction was to laugh at Lin Xin’s poor choice of a stand-in, but his smirk faded the moment the supposed stand-in produced an unmistakable piece of evidence—Lin Xin’s medical report.

With his corrected eyesight, Ying Lun could clearly see the report’s details. There was no mistake.

This was Lin Xin.

Stunned, Ying Lun abandoned his convoluted plans. He no longer needed to rely on indirect probing or subtlety. Everything about Lin Xin was blatantly, visibly unusual. He thought, “Two more days of observation will reveal all the answers I need.”

Meanwhile, Li Li’s fascination with Lin Xin led her to upload countless photos of him to the school forum. Yet, in the corner of each picture, Ying Lun’s presence lingered like an unwelcome shadow.

To maintain her composition’s aesthetic integrity, Li Li had honed her Photoshop skills to erase Ying Lun’s presence entirely, leaving no trace.

Lin Xin, unaware of the ‘little tails’ following him, occasionally felt intense stares boring into his back. He thought, “Why does it feel like I’m being watched?” He pounded on his back with his fist—only to end up hurting himself more.

On his 325th abrupt turn, Lin Xin finally caught two culprits red-handed, Zhang Yun and He Xiangtong. Both had been photographing him obsessively, even snapping shots of him changing clothes in the dorm. He thought, “This is unacceptable.” Furious, Lin Xin deleted every image from their phones, especially the inappropriate ones.

What Lin Xin didn’t know was that these two weren’t the only ones with compromising photos of him. The original picture hadn’t even been taken by Li Li, the usual photo-obsessed culprit. Instead, it had been Ying Lun who, during a lucky moment, had casually aimed his phone at Lin Xin’s dorm window and captured him mid-change.

Ying Lun stared at the photo on his phone. In it, Lin Xin was midway through pulling off his shirt, revealing a perfectly toned, half-exposed torso. His face, turned directly toward the camera, was sharply defined and undeniably male.

The body of a man—living in the women’s dormitory.
