This Novel will be a very short one with only about 42 chaprters in total. Still translating will be a bit slow since I'm only shoving it into any available schedule I have. For some reason, even when I said I wanted to take a break, when one novel finished I still stalk the NU forums for novel pick-up updates.

The exit of the villa district was a distance from Fang Baijing. If he wanted to catch a taxi outside, he would have to walk for about twenty minutes.

The moment Fang Baijing stepped out the door, he was scorched by the glaring sunlight. The temperature today was thirty-six degrees Celsius. Fang Baijing could feel the scorching heat even with his hat on.

He withdrew the foot he had stepped out with. In this weather, walking all the way out would probably lead straight to heatstroke and fainting!

Fang Baijing hesitated, then naturally walked into Fu Feng’s study again. He pulled open a drawer to pick out car keys, finally choosing the one that looked the most low-key before leaving.

He had not driven for a long time. The moment he turned the key, he even briefly wondered which pedal was the accelerator.

Since Fang Baijing got together with Fu Feng, he had not touched the steering wheel much, but fortunately the muscle memory was still there.

He used the navigation system to drive the car from the bustling city center toward the suburbs.

Fang Baijing’s note saying he was going to see his grandpa was genuine.

The older Fang Shiyu got, the less he liked attending various events, instead becoming extremely keen on running off to the countryside. He would cut grass and grow vegetables, only picking up a brush to paint when he felt inspired in his free time. His health was robust, and the family had specially hired a housekeeper, so there was no worry about anything happening to him.

Fang Baijing grew up following his grandpa. Fang Shiyu had only one son, Fang Baijing’s father, who in turn only had one son.

In short, Fang Baijing was like a three-generation gold brick.

After he grew up, he would still run back to his grandpa whenever he was in a bad mood. For example, after the first time he slept with Fu Feng, Fang Baijing cried tears while grinding ink for Fang Shiyu.

As he ground the ink, his tears mixed with the ink, turning into a muddy mess.

Fang Shiyu asked him about it, but he would not answer, simply wiping his tears and shaking his head, trying desperately to save face.

The roads in the countryside were as smooth as those in the city. The asphalt was scorching hot. Fang Baijing skillfully turned into a small side road.

The trees alongside the road were tall and strong, forming a natural giant umbrella, with only fragmented sunlight managing to shine through the gaps.

At the end of the road was a lively small town. The private homes were built beautifully, each with its own style.

Because of the heat, there was hardly anyone outside.

Fang Baijing parked the car at the entrance and rushed inside, though he could not run too fast because he was still sore.

The housekeeper hired for Fang Shiyu did not live with him and only came to tidy the house when Fang Shiyu needed her.

There was a plum tree in the yard with half-ripe plums hanging on it. Fang Baijing glanced at their color and did not dare eat them.

It was now lunchtime, and the yard was empty, muggy, and quiet.

Fang Baijing did not even knock on the door. He immediately bent down, moved the rug, and rummaged for the key hidden securely in the corner.

Fang Baijing’s action of opening the door coincided with his voice calling out: “Grandpa!”

Fang Shiyu was sitting on the sofa, leisurely watching television, holding a large plantain fan. Fang Baijing’s voice startled him. He looked back, his eyes wide, and scolded: “You brat! Don’t you know how to knock?”

A small orange tabby cat was lying in the corner of the sofa. Its ears perked up, and when it saw Fang Baijing, it let out a weak “Meow—.”

This cat was only affectionate toward Fang Shiyu. Fang Baijing had been scratched by it before, but he did not learn his lesson and reached out to tease it again.

Fang Shiyu frowned and said: “Don’t bother it.”

“I know, I know,” Fang Baijing said sourly. “It’s your real grandson.”

Fang Shiyu waved his fan and said: “It’s much more obedient than you are. What trouble did you cause today that you’ve run here?”

Fang Baijing choked, saying defensively: “Do I look like I’m always causing trouble?”

Fang Shiyu did not say anything, only smiling noncommittally.

“Grandpa! I’ll go boil your Traditional Chinese Medicine for you!” Seeing the situation was turning against him, Fang Baijing cleverly scurried into the kitchen.

Fang Shiyu highly trusted TCM and had been drinking it to nourish his health.

Fang Baijing’s motions for boiling the medicine were practiced, although it was actually quite simple.

There were special pots just for boiling TCM now; all you had to do was pour the prepared herbs in and set a timer.

There was no air conditioning in the kitchen. After staying in the herb-smelling kitchen for a while, Fang Baijing started to sweat. He licked his lips, suddenly craving ice cream.

There was none in the fridge, but the supermarket was nearby. Fang Baijing rushed out as quickly as he rushed in, only leaving behind one sentence: “Grandpa! I’m going to buy an ice cream!”

The moment he opened the freezer and pulled out the most ordinary mung bean popsicle, the phone in his pocket began vibrating like crazy.

Fang Baijing let out an impatient “Tsk,” took out his phone, and saw the number that had no name saved, but which he knew by heart.

He rolled his eyes, tore open the wrapper with his mouth, and waited for the phone call to end on its own.

Fang Baijing mentally counted “three, two, one,” and sure enough the phone rang again. The cool popsicle could not cool the anger burning in his heart.

He knew if he did not answer, Fu Feng would keep calling.

Fang Baijing bit into the mung bean popsicle and said with an extremely poor attitude: “What do you want?”

“Where are you?”

Fu Feng’s voice was clearly transmitted through the speaker, yet Fang Baijing felt it was eerily close.

He casually closed the freezer door, biting the popsicle as he said vaguely: “What else could I be doing? Of course I’m filming on set.” Fang Baijing lied without batting an eye, easily taking another lick of the popsicle. He said impatiently: “I told you not to call me like you’re chasing my life away. It’s annoying.”

“Fang Baijing.” This voice was even closer.

The taste of mung bean was still spreading in his mouth, and Fang Baijing’s actions came to a halt.

Fu Feng said: “Turn around.”

Fang Baijing subconsciously rotated his body.

It turned out his feeling was not an illusion earlier: Fu Feng was standing right at the door, tall and straight, completely out of place with the short supermarket entrance.

While he was stunned, the popsicle in his hand began to melt silently, dripping onto his fingers.

Fang Baijing reacted, wrinkling his brow in disgust.

When he focused his attention on Fu Feng again, he noticed Fu Feng had walked inside.

Fu Feng commented: “You’re filthy.”

Fang Baijing became furious and immediately wiped the popsicle that had dripped onto his hand onto Fu Feng’s clothes.

Despite his childish outburst, Fu Feng did not get angry. He simply used his hand to restrain Fang Baijing’s flailing arm.

While holding him down, Fu Feng turned his head and asked the proprietress: “How much is it?”

Fu Feng paid for Fang Baijing’s item, which only made Fang Baijing angrier.

He twisted free of Fu Feng’s hand, his expression cold as he snapped: “Get lost! I can afford one ice cream! I don’t need you to pay for it!”

Fang Baijing had already been pulled out of the supermarket by Fu Feng.

Outside was a huge banyan tree. Fu Feng pressed the nearly-frantic Fang Baijing against the tree trunk and asked: “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming here?”

Fang Baijing was such an idiot that he did not even know how to run away; the car at home had a GPS tracker installed.

“Did your family go bankrupt, that you’re not staying at the company every day and running around to control me for no reason?” Fang Baijing’s tone was as confrontational as ever. “I have to report to you just to see my grandpa, is that it!?”

Fang Baijing tossed the half-eaten ice cream into the nearby trash can. He turned his head and said: “I don’t want you to control me.”

He just did not want Fu Feng to control him.

Fu Feng was a lunatic. He wanted to keep him under his watch every day, and Fang Baijing had to report everything he did.

As soon as Fang Baijing stepped out the door, Fu Feng would investigate where he went.

He hated it.

Fu Feng glanced at the pathetic popsicle in the trash can and asked calmly: “If you don’t want me to control you, who do you want to?”

“I’m a twenty-year-old adult,” Fang Baijing swore, which was rare for him. “I don’t fucking need anyone to control me.”

He saw Fu Feng’s eyes narrow slightly, and his voice weakened again: “I left a note!”

Fu Feng understood his habits. He reached out and brushed the hair from Fang Baijing’s forehead: “I don’t want to restrict your freedom. I just hope you’ll tell me before you do something. Is that so hard?”

Fang Baijing opened his mouth, then closed it.

Fu Feng continued: “I send you a schedule every day too, don’t couples all do this?”

Fang Baijing was speechless at this. Fu Feng genuinely did that, sending him a schedule accurate down to the hour.

Occasionally, if Fu Feng’s schedule deviated from the plan, he would even call him to let him know what he was going to do next.

Fang Baijing muttered softly: “You’re sick, I’m not.”

His voice was not so low that it was inaudible; at the very least Fu Feng heard it.

Fu Feng suddenly called out: “Yangyang.”

Fang Baijing glared at him: “Don’t call me that!”

Fu Feng’s fingers brushed against the corner of his mouth, wiping away the mung bean paste he had accidentally smeared there. His expression was placid as he said: “In the future, tell me when you go out, or I will be tempted to keep you by my side.”

Fu Feng had actually done this before.

When Fang Baijing was causing the biggest fuss, Fu Feng had done exactly that: he did not lock Fang Baijing up, but he kept him by his side at all times.

Whether he was going to the company or attending a social event.

After Fang Baijing’s attitude softened, Fu Feng hesitated for a long time, and finally, seeing how upset Fang Baijing was, he stopped doing it.

But now, that suppressed desire for control surged up again.

He wanted Fang Baijing to stay by his side forever. In other words, Fu Feng even wanted to tie Fang Baijing next to him.

It was just that if he did, Fang Baijing would be unhappy, sad, and cry.

“Just be obedient.” Fu Feng’s palm cupped the back of his neck. He rubbed it gently, repeating his words in a whisper: “Just be obedient.”

Fang Baijing believed their first meeting was at the banquet, but it was actually much, much earlier, going back to the time when Fang Baijing was still wearing his school uniform.

So many years had passed, and Fang Baijing had become an obsession for Fu Feng. Therefore, after truly gaining power, Fu Feng proceeded step by step, laying one trap after another, waiting for Fang Baijing to fall into them.

Fang Baijing’s script was even hand-picked by Fu Feng and brought before him. Even the meeting at the wrap-up party was orchestrated by Fu Feng.

It was only a pity that Fang Baijing did not recognize him.

Fang Baijing also did not know that Fu Feng had liked him for a very, very long time, even resorting to any means necessary to make Fang Baijing like him too.

Fu Feng had not expected that he would like Fang Baijing for such a long, long time, through the passage of years, with lingering thoughts.

There was no one on the road outside, and the spot where they were standing was a blind spot for the supermarket proprietress. Fu Feng stared at Fang Baijing’s lips and kissed him without warning.

Fang Baijing’s mouth tasted of mung bean, both bitter and sweet.

Fu Feng bit down on Fang Baijing’s soft lip. Only when he heard Fang Baijing’s sound of pain did Fu Feng let go, leaving only a tiny tooth mark.

Fu Feng resented that Fang Baijing had not recognized him.

But perhaps that was to be expected. Fang Baijing had been a little sun since childhood, and he had met too many people on his journey of growth.

As long as Fang Baijing only has him now, that’s all that matters, Fu Feng thought.
