This Novel will be a very short one with only about 42 chaprters in total. Still translating will be a bit slow since I'm only shoving it into any available schedule I have. For some reason, even when I said I wanted to take a break, when one novel finished I still stalk the NU forums for novel pick-up updates.

Fang Baijing had never asked Fu Feng for help with such matters before. Most of the time, Fu Feng would silently assist him behind the scenes. Now, with Fang Baijing nestled in his arms, complaining tearfully and acting spoiled, Fu Feng felt a strange sense of gratification. He applied a little pressure, holding Fang Baijing slightly higher.

The posture was like holding a child. Fu Feng could have put Fang Baijing down, but he just wanted to hold him.

Fu Feng kissed Fang Baijing’s forehead and whispered, “I’ll get it back for you.” His voice sounded deeper when he was coaxing someone, but it held a tenderness reserved only for Fang Baijing: “No one can take anything that belongs to our Yangyang.”

The words sounded like he was soothing a child, but Fu Feng’s tone was serious, and Fang Baijing knew he meant it.

Fang Baijing felt a little shy holding this position for too long. He hugged Fu Feng tightly, his nose filled with the scent of shower gel, the same as the scent on Fu Feng’s body. As their eyes met, the atmosphere’s inherent ambiguity was easily broken.

What followed was a natural progression.

Fang Baijing lay sprawled on the bed, his butterfly bones on his back like fluttering wings. It was so hot that he was covered in sweat. Fu Feng picked him up and placed him in the bathtub. The swirling steam made Fang Baijing drowsy. Surrounded by the hot water, only his head was exposed. He didn’t have to bathe himself; Fu Feng took a towel and meticulously wiped over every inch of the reddened marks on his body.

He was in a daze, and just as his consciousness was about to fade, Fang Baijing instinctively stretched out his arms for a hug from Fu Feng. The arm wrapping around his waist was a familiar feeling. He buried his head in Fu Feng’s shoulder and, with a big heart, drifted off to sleep.

Fu Feng didn’t wake him. He dried him off, changed his clothes, and carried him back out. The bed was large, more than enough for two, but Fu Feng held Fang Baijing close, the distance between them practically nonexistent.

Fu Feng’s approach to problems was always straightforward and forceful. He didn’t just kick the other actor out; he also helped Fang Baijing get a different director. Fu Feng didn’t hand the subsequent matters over to Cai Jie; instead, he took charge himself. The contract and all related documents were drafted by Fu Feng personally, ensuring Fang Baijing wouldn’t suffer any disadvantage.

Fang Baijing secured the role smoothly.

He pursed his lips and quietly asked Fu Feng: “Do you think I’m troublesome? That I have to rely on you for something like this?”

“Why would you ask that?” Fu Feng frowned. He loved holding Fang Baijing in his arms at all times, and it was no different now. “I don’t think that,” Fu Feng said. “And you shouldn’t think that either.” Fang Baijing was raised spoiled. He never suffered any grievance as a child, and Fu Feng wasn’t willing to let Fang Baijing suffer any now. Fu Feng’s tone was very serious: “I told you a long time ago, anything you want, I will give you.”

Fang Baijing stared blankly at Fu Feng for a moment before leaping forward excitedly. He kissed Fu Feng, making a smacking sound. He was long accustomed to kindness from various people, but Fu Feng’s kindness was unique. Fang Baijing hugged Fu Feng’s shoulders, his expression changing faster than turning a page. He said smugly, “You’re my boyfriend! If you’re not good to me, who are you going to be good to?” He leaned in and kissed Fu Feng again, asking, “Then what do you want? I can give you things too. I’m quite rich.” Fang Baijing’s expression became a bit troubled: “But it seems everything I can afford, you can afford too, and anything I can solve, you can solve yourself.”

Fu Feng smiled subtly. He hugged Fang Baijing tighter and said, “I want you to really love me.”

“… Got it!” Fang Baijing responded with red ears. He muttered softly, “I… will.” Seeing no reaction from Fu Feng, Fang Baijing bit him and asked, “Did you hear me?!”

“I heard you,” Fu Feng said. “I heard you say you will really love me.” Their eyes were on the same level and easily met. Fu Feng’s voice sounded light: “I believe you.”

Fang Baijing was like a delicate flower; the person who tended him needed to pour their heart into it. The process of blooming was long, and a slight deviation could prevent the bud from forming. The moment of blooming, however, was the most beautiful. The fragrance would fill the air, making one realize all the hard work was worth it.

Fang Baijing was moved bit by bit by Fu Feng’s love. He had been spoiled since childhood. The intentional or unintentional flattery of others did not impress him; only Fu Feng’s actions could. Fu Feng’s love was silent and profound, yet weighed a thousand pounds.

Fang Baijing had been busy preparing to join the film crew these past few days, but a sudden phone call meant he had to delay joining the crew for a while.

He received a call from his high school homeroom teacher, who said the school was hosting its centenary anniversary celebration and wanted to invite him to attend. Fang Baijing attended the most famous private high school in the province, and many of its graduates were now prominent figures.

He hesitated about whether to go when he got the call, but in the end, Fang Baijing accepted. This was because his high school homeroom teacher, Teacher Chen, was a good teacher. When Fang Baijing was young and disliked studying, she would constantly nag him to focus. Even when Fang Baijing suddenly decided to study acting in his final year of high school, she helped him convince Fang Fu and Fang Mu.

Seeing Fu Feng return home from work, Fang Baijing suddenly realized Fu Feng must have also received the call.

He asked, “Did you get a call from the high school?”

“Yes,” Fu Feng hung his coat on the rack. “The 100th anniversary celebration?”

Fang Baijing got up from the sofa and said, “Yes, I got it too. I’m planning to go back. Are you going?”

Fu Feng’s answer was within Fang Baijing’s expectation: “If you go, I’ll go.”

Fang Baijing’s lips curved up in a knowing smile, which he quickly hid: “It’s this Saturday. Are you going with me?”

The car was going to be driven inside the school anyway. Their high school took the centenary celebration very seriously and would not allow the media to enter freely.

On Saturday evening, Fang Baijing and Fu Feng were in the car. Fang Baijing was uncharacteristically wearing formal attire, a white suit custom-made for him by Fu Feng, whose size was measured personally with a tape measure by Fu Feng. Fu Feng seemed to particularly like him in white formal wear, and this suit matched the black suit Fu Feng was wearing perfectly.

Fang Baijing got out of the car first and immediately saw Xiao Jing, who had arrived earlier. He raised an eyebrow and asked, “How did you manage to get invited?”

“Fang Baijing, what’s that supposed to mean?” Xiao Jing looked ready to kill Fang Baijing. “Your grades were similar to mine back then. Why can you be invited and I can’t?”

“Me?” The weather was a bit cold. Fang Baijing bundled up his jacket, pointed to himself, and said, “Outstanding Young Actor.”

“Hmph,” Xiao Jing sneered. “Is that all? I thought it was something impressive—” He wanted to continue mocking him, but upon seeing the person walking up behind Fang Baijing, Xiao Jing instantly fell silent.

Fang Baijing was cold and rubbing his hands when a hot water bottle was suddenly placed in his hands. It had a cute little bear printed on it, which didn’t match Fu Feng’s style at all.

“I had Uncle Wang buy it beforehand. I forgot to give it to you earlier,” Fu Feng asked. “Are you feeling better?”

As they talked, Fang Baijing completely forgot about Xiao Jing. He was now accustomed to sticking close to Fu Feng.

Although it wasn’t very convenient outside, Fang Baijing still stood closer to Fu Feng. He said slowly, “It’s okay.” He lifted his pointy chin and said, “You go in first.” Fu Feng had been invited directly by the headmaster, and their seating would be different.

However, Fu Feng stopped and turned back: “You can come with me.”

“Forget it.” Fang Baijing hesitated, then shook his head. “I’ll go with Xiao Jing.” His nose tip was already red from the cold.

Fu Feng paused, then said, “Don’t stand outside too long. Go in quickly.”

Fang Baijing deliberately staggered his timing with Fu Feng before walking into the ceremony hall. He was on the first floor, and Fu Feng was on the second, so they didn’t even meet face-to-face.

He pouted in a bad mood.

Xiao Jing didn’t have a hot water bottle, and his fingers were long numb: “I feel like you and Fu Feng are different now. What did you say before? That if you fell for Fu Feng, you’d jump off the Century Tower?”

“When did I say that?” Fang Baijing was always good at reneging on a debt. He blinked, playing dumb: “I didn’t say that. I don’t remember.”

“So you really fell for Fu Feng?!” They were standing in a small corner but still had to deliberately lower their voices.

Fang Baijing gnashed his teeth: “Can’t I f-ing like Fu Feng?!”

“Fine… you like him,” Xiao Jing patted Fang Baijing’s shoulder. “If this was the ending, why didn’t you just like him sooner?”

This hit a raw nerve for Fang Baijing. He unhappily swatted Xiao Jing’s hand away and said testily, “Get lost!”

Fang Baijing happened to see his former homeroom teacher. He walked over with a smile and called out, “Teacher Chen.”

Xiao Jing followed behind and greeted her as well. Both of them had stayed in touch with Teacher Chen after graduation, so they had plenty to talk about. When it came time to sit down, Fang Baijing and Xiao Jing decided to sit with Teacher Chen, along with a few other former classmates. Fang Baijing had always been popular, and there was no awkwardness when they started bantering.

“Baijing is a big star now! Are you going to sign an autograph for me later?”

“Be humble, be humble. I heard CEO Huang is making a hundred million a year now?”

“Get out of here! But are you going to show off your talent later? I haven’t heard you play the piano in centuries.”

“Then you’ve lived quite a long time.” Fang Baijing smiled, his gaze drifting to the piano on the stage. “But I really am going to play.”

This was a secret he hadn’t even told Fu Feng because he wanted to give Fu Feng a surprise.

The school anniversary had many performances. Fang Baijing’s item was scheduled in the middle.

He hadn’t played the piano in front of so many people for a long time, but he wasn’t nervous at all. But when Fang Baijing sat down at the piano, his fingers resting on the black and white keys, he realized that he was about to play the piano for Fu Feng. Fang Baijing suddenly became nervous.

He remembered the photo he saw last time. The angle must have been shot from the corridor on the second floor. Fang Baijing’s movements halted, and he suddenly looked up towards the second floor. Amidst the endless noise, he saw Fu Feng.

Fu Feng stood behind the glass window, his eyes downcast, his gaze fixed solely on him.

Applause broke out below the stage. Fang Baijing’s heart was pounding rapidly, only for Fu Feng.

Just like this piano piece, which was meant to make up for a regret, played for Fu Feng alone, and for the six years they didn’t share. And most importantly, played for the twenty-five-year-old Fu Feng now.

Played for Fang Baijing’s Fu Feng.
