This Novel will be a very short one with only about 42 chaprters in total. Still translating will be a bit slow since I'm only shoving it into any available schedule I have. For some reason, even when I said I wanted to take a break, when one novel finished I still stalk the NU forums for novel pick-up updates.

Author’s Note: Yep, CEO Fu has always been that bold. Just a bad example.

The moment Fang Baijing heard Grandpa Fang’s words, there was an instant when he felt a chill from his feet to the top of his head, completely ignoring the burning pain in his arm. He was so distraught and helpless that he couldn’t even formulate an explanation.

Grandpa Fang swung the cane down again, straight at his head. Fang Baijing didn’t dare to dodge and could only tightly close his eyes and take another hit. This one struck Fang Baijing’s right shoulder directly, making him feel like his bone was about to snap.

Fang Baijing had never been hit much in his life. Grandpa Fang had always been the most indulgent member of the family, but today he must have been absolutely furious, hitting him with exceptional force.

His anger didn’t seem to have subsided. Grandpa Fang raised his hand again, looking as if he wanted to hit Fang Baijing one more time.

Fang Baijing subconsciously closed his eyes, holding his arm up in front of him. He was ready for the blow, but the anticipated pain did not fall. He nervously opened his eyes and saw Grandpa Fang’s cane suspended in mid-air.

Grandpa Fang was truly enraged to the extreme; the veins on the hand gripping the cane bulged, and the cane’s trembling grew more pronounced.

Grandpa Fang’s health hadn’t been good these past few years, and Fang Baijing dared not provoke him further. His eyelashes fluttered as he cautiously called out, “… Grandpa.”

Grandpa Fang instantly glared at him and shouted, “You still dare to call me Grandpa!”

“Bang—” Grandpa Fang slammed the cane in his hand heavily beside Fang Baijing’s leg. Pointing at his nose, he cursed, “Fang Baijing! Are we lacking anything at home? You’ve had everything you wanted since you were little! Was it necessary for you to get involved with a man for those resources?!”

Fang Baijing knew instantly that Grandpa Fang had misunderstood his relationship with Fu Feng. Before he could open his mouth to explain, he heard Grandpa Fang continue, agitatedly: “If Fu Feng’s father hadn’t come to see me! I wouldn’t have known about your relationship!”

Fang Baijing froze, instantly remembering what Fu Feng had once said about his poor relationship with his father.

“I told you long ago not to enter the entertainment industry! The entertainment industry!” Grandpa Fang was livid. “It’s all our fault for spoiling you so much, which is why you’re so willful! You practiced piano for so many years, and when you said you didn’t like it anymore, did anyone say anything? No! You wanted to enter the entertainment industry, and we let you! And now? Fang Baijing! Have you made any progress at all?!”

“… Grandpa.” Fang Baijing’s eyes were getting red. He softly explained, “My relationship with Fu Feng isn’t what you think…”

“What I think?! The last time I saw you two, you repeatedly told me you were friends!?” Grandpa Fang challenged. “His father told me he was getting married soon, yet he’s still with you. What do you call your relationship?!”

“Fu Feng won’t get married!” Fang Baijing said this with great certainty, but after a moment, he lowered his head, twisting his sleeve, and whispered, “… He won’t.”

Grandpa Fang was so angry that he stumbled back a few steps.

Fang Baijing instinctively rushed to support him, but before his arm could even touch him, Grandpa Fang harshly slapped it away. “How do you know he won’t?!” Grandpa Fang closed his eyes to calm himself. “End your relationship cleanly!”

Perhaps the commotion between the two of them was too loud. Fang Fu and Fang Mu also came out of the room. The room had good soundproofing, but Grandpa Fang’s voice was so loud that they had heard everything clearly.

“Yangyang,” Fang Mu’s tone was unusually severe. “Come here.”

Fang Fu went to soothe Grandpa Fang, and Fang Baijing followed Fang Mu into his own room, pursing his lips. He hadn’t lived here for a long time, but Fang Mu often cleaned for him, and the room was still spotless.

Fang Mu sat on the bed, frowning as she asked, “What is your grandpa talking about?”

Fang Baijing’s habits since childhood hadn’t changed; whenever he did something wrong, he would instinctively lower his head in guilt. His voice was very small and soft: “… It’s just that I’m dating a man. We don’t have the sugar-daddy relationship my grandpa thinks we do.” He didn’t look at Fang Mu’s reaction. Fang Baijing quietly squatted on the floor, resting his chin on the mattress beside Fang Mu. Fang Baijing looked up at Fang Mu and asked pitifully, “Mom, will you agree?”

Fang Mu’s expression froze for a moment. Even though she had been fully prepared, hearing Fang Baijing say it out loud still left her unsure how to react.

After a long pause, Fang Mu slowly began, “Yangyang, since you were little, your dad and I have always said that as long as you’re happy, we just want you to do what you love. Even now, I want to say the same thing.” Fang Mu reached out and stroked Fang Baijing’s hair. The fine lines around her eyes weren’t very noticeable when she smiled: “As long as our Yangyang is happy, that’s enough. However—” Fang Mu’s tone shifted, “What did your grandpa mean about that boy getting married?”

Grandpa Fang was angry not just because Fang Baijing had suddenly fallen for a boy; the main reason was that he felt Fang Baijing was being wronged by Fu Feng. He believed Fang Baijing had been deceived and was being taken advantage of.

Fang Baijing spoke with his head bowed, “His relationship with his family isn’t very good. His dad seems to want him to get married, but he said he won’t.”

Fang Mu’s brow furrowed tighter. Hearing Fang Baijing say this, she found the boy sounded completely unreliable; his words felt like excuses to placate Fang Baijing.

“Yangyang,” Fang Mu spoke cautiously, “Are you sure he won’t get married?”

“He won’t.”

Fang Mu became even more worried. Initially, she just thought the boy was a little unreliable, but now she thought the boy had cast a spell on Fang Baijing, leaving him utterly infatuated. Her expression was serious, but seeing Fang Baijing like this, she couldn’t bring herself to say much, only managing: “Yangyang, even when dating, you need to be careful and not get tricked.”

The birthday dinner still had to be eaten. Who knows what Fang Fu said to Grandpa Fang, but his mood was much more stable; at the very least, he could eat at the same table as Fang Baijing.

The meal was filled with private thoughts. Grandpa Fang was probably still angry. He left Fang Mu a painting and a big red envelope, then stormed off in a huff.

Fang Baijing knew he was at fault. When he saw his dad’s gaze turn sharp, he immediately slipped into the room. He was somewhat grateful that it was his mother’s birthday today, so his father definitely wouldn’t do anything to him.

The beating he took today was real. Fang Baijing winced painfully whenever he lifted his arm. He took off his clothes and checked himself in the mirror. His arm and shoulder where he was hit were already swollen.

Fang Baijing lowered his shirt and received a call from Fu Feng. He lay on the bed, having to lie on his side due to the injuries on his shoulder. His tone was listless: “Hello?”

“What’s wrong?” Fu Feng noticed his low mood. “Didn’t you go celebrate your mother’s birthday?”

“I—” Fang Baijing subconsciously opened his mouth. He originally intended to tell Fu Feng everything that happened today, but he eventually held it back. This is my own business. I should handle it myself and not involve Fu Feng.

Fu Feng frowned slightly and said, “I told you that you can tell me anything. I will help you resolve whatever problems you can’t solve, no matter what it is.”

Fang Baijing’s thoughts instantly changed. He and Fu Feng were a couple; how could him being beaten because of Fu Feng not be Fu Feng’s business! He rolled over, putting pressure on his shoulder injury. Fang Baijing let out a soft wail, then rolled back to his original position.

When Fang Baijing spoke, he unconsciously carried a hint of resentment: “My grandpa found out about us, which means I’ve kind of been forced to come out. My grandpa was so angry, he hit me too.” Fang Baijing held his phone, saying self-righteously, “Why hit me? Shouldn’t he hit you instead?!”

“Does it hurt badly?”

“It’s alright,” Fang Baijing said. “Not as bad as when you used to hit me.”

He still had the energy to joke. Fu Feng asked softly, “How did your grandpa find out?”

Fang Baijing genuinely didn’t know whether to say the next part or not. Saying it felt like tattling on Fu Feng, but not saying it made him feel stifled.

Fu Feng guessed first: “Did Fu Yan tell your grandpa?”

Fang Baijing hesitated, then hummed in response.

Fu Feng was silent for a moment. He didn’t ask what Fang Baijing’s family said, because regardless of whether Fang Baijing’s parents supported or opposed it, Fang Baijing could only be with him. “Got it,” Fu Feng said. “Wait for me.”

He hung up the phone in a daze. Fang Baijing initially didn’t understand what Fu Feng’s “Wait for me” meant. He thought Fu Feng meant “wait for me to resolve this matter” or “wait for me to explain.”

But it wasn’t until two or three hours later that Fang Baijing truly understood the meaning of Fu Feng’s simple phrase.

Although he had locked himself in his room, he heard the sudden, sharp sound of the doorbell. Perhaps it was his sixth sense, but Fang Baijing pricked up his ears to listen to the commotion outside the door. But before Fang Baijing could clearly hear the conversation outside, he heard Fang Mu calling his name, her tone complex and slightly hesitant.

—”Yangyang.”

Fang Baijing’s eyelids twitched frantically, more intensely than before he was hit. W

hen Fang Baijing opened the door, his worst fears were confirmed. He stared wide-eyed at the doorway, watching the person who absolutely shouldn’t be in his house appear in the living room.

Fu Feng must have just come from the company. His hair was meticulously groomed, his exposed eyes sharp, and he was wearing a neat suit. The tie around his neck was one Fang Baijing had tied for him himself. He handed the gift bag in his hand to Fang Mu, saying calmly and composedly, “Auntie, I apologize for coming so suddenly and not preparing a particularly good gift.”

Fu Feng suddenly raised his eyebrows, his gaze pausing first on Fang Baijing’s bare feet before meeting Fang Baijing’s incredulous stare. He extended his hand.

Only when Fang Fu reflexively took it did Fu Feng speak slowly and deliberately: “Hello, Uncle and Auntie. I am Yangyang’s boyfriend. My name is Fu Feng.”
