This Novel will be a very short one with only about 42 chaprters in total. Still translating will be a bit slow since I'm only shoving it into any available schedule I have. For some reason, even when I said I wanted to take a break, when one novel finished I still stalk the NU forums for novel pick-up updates.

Fu Feng was on his way to City Z when he received Fang Baijing’s call.

Uncle Wang was silently driving the car in front. Since Fu Feng was a child, Uncle Wang had been his driver, and he could feel the low pressure emanating from Fu Feng. He, of course, knew the cause and effect. Fu Feng was usually so steady it was unlike a young man, but whenever Fang Baijing was involved, his emotions easily fluctuated.

Clearly, Fu Feng was angry right now.

He had received the news of Fang Baijing’s escape when the meeting was only halfway through. Fu Feng’s face instantly darkened, and he ran out, abandoning the half-finished meeting. The accomplice, Xiao Jing, had already been cornered by the bodyguards.

Without even needing to threaten him, Xiao Jing immediately spilled all of Fang Baijing’s secrets. He quietly glanced at Fu Feng’s unreadable expression and whispered, “You know what kind of person Fang Baijing is. He only runs outside for a little while. I bet he won’t last three days. Can’t you just let him play outside for a bit?”

Fu Feng gave him a heavy look, then turned his back and made a phone call to Xiao Jing’s father. He wasn’t not going to deal with Xiao Jing, but the urgent matter was bringing Fang Baijing back.

Fu Feng was already too late when he went to the Passenger Transport Center to intercept him; the bus had left long ago.

Fu Feng had Uncle Wang drive him directly to City Z. The atmosphere in the car was heavy, and Fu Feng’s lips were pulled into a straight line, looking like a storm was brewing.

When answering the phone, Fu Feng’s lips were still tightly pursed. Only after hearing Fang Baijing call his name did his lips relax slightly. He lowered his eyes, propped his elbow on the window’s edge, and asked, “Why did you run?”

Fang Baijing on the other end was clearly lacking confidence. Fu Feng heard Fang Baijing sniffle, followed by a faint voice: “…I just ran for fun.”

“Was it fun?”

Fang Baijing’s sniffing grew louder. He said pitiably, “It wasn’t fun at all.” He even had the nerve to rush Fu Feng: “Can you come a little faster? It’s so dark outside, and my wallet was stolen.”

Fu Feng briefly closed his eyes to calm down. His throat was dry and hoarse; he couldn’t speak, but he didn’t hang up the phone either.

Fang Baijing probably realized belatedly that he was angry. He stopped talking too, but they tacitly stayed on the call.

Through the phone, Fu Feng could hear the faint sounds on Fang Baijing’s end. The sounds were muffled—the noise of the wind, Fang Baijing’s shoes shuffling on the ground, and even the barking of a stray dog.

Fu Feng took a deep breath and asked, “Where are you now?”

“I came out to buy something… and then my wallet was stolen. I’m heading back to the inn now.”

“The inn’s name.”

Fang Baijing quietly reported the inn’s name.

Fang Baijing must have walked for a while, as Fu Feng heard the sound of Fang Baijing climbing stairs. He couldn’t help but frown. What kind of hotel is this? It doesn’t even have an elevator?

Fang Baijing’s actions of opening and closing the door were also much quieter, afraid of disturbing Fu Feng.

Fu Feng had left almost at the same time Fang Baijing ran away. He was very close to City Z now and followed the navigation to the inn name Fang Baijing had just given him. He walked into the small inn without hesitation.

The front desk’s training was very poor; as soon as Fu Feng asked for Fang Baijing’s name, she reported the room number.

Fu Feng walked to the tightly closed door and knocked a few times.

The room’s soundproofing was terrible. He heard Fang Baijing’s hurried footsteps, and then the door opened.

Fang Baijing stood before him, his hair a little messy, and the cuffs of his blue and white striped shirt were slightly dirty. What caught Fu Feng’s attention the most was that Fang Baijing’s eyes were slightly red, but he probably hadn’t cried.

He stared at Fang Baijing, but Fang Baijing knew he was in the wrong and instinctively looked down at his own feet.

Fu Feng silently brushed past him. He didn’t change his expression at the sour stench in the room, but walked straight to the suitcase. He pulled the suitcase with one hand and picked up the bag Fang Baijing had placed on the bed with the other. He tossed the bag into Fang Baijing’s arms, grabbed Fang Baijing, and walked downstairs.

Fang Baijing stumbled a few steps, his head hitting Fu Feng’s shoulder. The impact made Fang Baijing’s head buzz, but Fu Feng didn’t pause his steps even slightly.

Uncle Wang was good at reading the situation. He reached out, took the suitcase from Fu Feng, and placed it in the trunk, opening the back car door for Fu Feng.

Fu Feng pulled Fang Baijing inside.

“Sir, are we returning to Beicheng now, or staying in City Z for the night?”

“Find a hotel,” Fu Feng said flatly. “We’ll go back tomorrow.”

It was very late now; if they drove four more hours back, it would be dawn.

Fang Baijing didn’t offer a single word of opinion on any of this. Sitting on the soft cushion, he felt like half his bones had softened.

Fang Baijing secretly peeked at Fu Feng. He could sense that Fu Feng was still angry. His heart was pounding nervously. Fang Baijing regretted making this call a little. He shouldn’t… he shouldn’t suffer for this, right?

Uncle Wang drove the car to the only five-star hotel in City Z.

The feeling of walking inside was starkly different from that small inn. Fang Baijing’s wrist was still being held by Fu Feng. Following beside Fu Feng, he thought mournfully, Let me suffer, then. At least I couldn’t sleep in that inn.

Fu Feng booked two rooms. The best suite was gone, leaving only a large double room. Undeniably, he and Fang Baijing shared one, and Uncle Wang had his own.

Fang Baijing followed, shuffling his feet, and asked quietly, “Can I share a room with Uncle Wang? You sleep alone.” This was the first sentence he had spoken face-to-face with Fu Feng today.

Fu Feng stopped, suddenly turned his head to look at him, and spoke four words: “You sleep with me.”

Fang Baijing dared not resist and cautiously followed Fu Feng into the room.

After a day of running around, his legs were sore, and the backs of his heels ached terribly.

Fang Baijing’s first order of business was to sit on the bed. If he could, he would have just lain down right then.

Sitting on the bed, his lips felt dry whenever he made eye contact with Fu Feng. He instinctively put out his tongue to lick his lips.

Fu Feng spoke abruptly: “You go shower first.”

Probably afraid that Fu Feng would abandon him penniless in City Z, Fang Baijing was very obedient today. He silently opened his suitcase and took out the clothes Xiao Jing had prepared for him. He rolled the unopened underwear inside his pajamas and rushed into the bathroom, not even stopping to put on slippers. There was no bathtub in the bathroom, only a shower facility.

Fang Baijing waited for the water to warm up a bit, took off his clothes, and stepped into the shower.

The hot shower effectively relieved his physical fatigue, especially since Fu Feng wasn’t in the bathroom. Fang Baijing relaxed even more, even starting to hum a song softly. But his singing suddenly stopped because Fang Baijing heard the sound of the door opening.

Fu Feng, still dressed, walked in from outside.

Fang Baijing was startled and instinctively retreated a few steps. Fu Feng, however, was very composed. He approached step by step, and before Fang Baijing could react, he opened the shower door. The still-running hot water poured down on him. Fu Feng was instantly drenched. He pushed his wet hair back from his forehead, making his features look even deeper.

Fang Baijing stared, aghast, and couldn’t help saying, “Are you crazy?”

Fu Feng suddenly took a few more steps forward, reached out, and pulled Fang Baijing closer. Without a word of preamble, he kissed Fang Baijing on the mouth. Hot water poured down from above, and Fang Baijing couldn’t open his eyes, but he found the environment bizarre. He was completely naked, yet Fu Feng was fully dressed.

This feeling made Fang Baijing completely uncomfortable. He couldn’t help wanting to retreat, but Fu Feng tightly gripped his waist. By the end, Fang Baijing had nowhere left to go; his back was pressed against the cold tiles, making him shiver instinctively.

“Finished washing?” Fu Feng supported his chin and asked near Fang Baijing’s ear.

Fang Baijing felt humiliated and desperate to escape. He nodded, blushing furiously.

Fu Feng finally stepped out, but two or three seconds later, he squeezed back into the wet space holding a bath towel. He wrapped the towel around Fang Baijing. Bending down, he scooped Fang Baijing up from the floor.

Fang Baijing was bewildered, but his feet were suddenly off the ground. He didn’t dare struggle much, only wrapping his arms around Fu Feng’s shoulder.

He was deposited onto the large bed. As Fang Baijing reeled, Fu Feng stripped off his own wet clothes. He used the towel Fang Baijing had used to slowly wipe the water droplets from his shoulders.

“Fu Feng…” Fang Baijing tried to pull the quilt to cover his naked body, but one corner of the quilt was firmly pinned down by Fu Feng.

Fu Feng stared down at Fang Baijing from above. Suddenly, he bent down and kissed Fang Baijing’s lips again.

Fu Feng’s hand slowly moved down, finally resting on Fang Baijing’s waist. Fang Baijing’s skin was smooth and sensitive. Fu Feng could guarantee he was leaving marks on Fang Baijing’s skin.

“Fang Baijing,” Fu Feng asked, “If your wallet hadn’t been stolen, would you have called me?”

“…”

“Are you that happy to be away from me for just a few days?”

Fang Baijing’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He met Fu Feng’s emotionless eyes and couldn’t utter a single sentence. He only dared to whisper again: “…Fu Feng.”

Fu Feng’s hand had somehow slipped down to Fang Baijing’s calf, massaging it gently, up and down, with light pressure. He lowered his eyes, his expression thoughtful.

Fu Feng grabbed Fang Baijing’s ankle, pulled him closer, and kissed him again without argument.

The hotel drawer contained the necessary items. Fu Feng was a little out of control tonight, resulting in a somewhat heavy touch.

Fang Baijing’s whole body was flushed red. He couldn’t stop shaking. Finally, the tears he had been suppressing broke free. He could only beg softly, “I’m sorry… Fu Feng.”

But finally reaching his limit, Fang Baijing kicked out at Fu Feng. “I said I was sorry!” Fang Baijing wiped the corner of his eye. Ignoring the soreness in his legs, he glared at Fu Feng with red eyes and shouted, “Why are you so fierce!”
