Jiang Ning’s voice wasn’t loud, nor was it soft, yet it carried a bone-deep chill that made the air freeze.

Li Zhonglong was utterly dumbfounded. Cold sweat streamed down his forehead, and his face burned with the humiliation of being caught red-handed.

Never in his life did he imagine that Jiang Ning not only understood the contract but had also marked and corrected every single unreasonable clause.

She…

She read so quickly.

Terrifying.

Absolutely terrifying.

Jiang Ning was too terrifying.

In just three minutes.

She had not only flagged all the irregularities but even added extra clauses—professional ones—so advanced that even an old fox like him, with decades of business experience, struggled to follow.

If not for her age, he would have sworn she was a seasoned legal consultant.

It was only then that Li Zhonglong realized—today he had stumbled upon a true master.

He should never have tried to bully her.

Taking a deep breath, he lifted his head, carefully choosing his words, his face flushed red as he stammered, “M-Miss Jiang, I… I was wrong. I’ll have my assistant correct the contract right away. Thank you—thank you for giving me another chance.”

But before he could even raise his hand to call the assistant over, something struck him. “No… I’ll go myself. Miss Jiang, please wait a moment. I’ll personally print the corrected version. I promise—there won’t be any mistakes this time.”

“Go.” Jiang Ning’s gaze swept over him, sharp and commanding, her entire being radiating the authority of someone born to rule.

The air was thick with pressure.

Li Zhonglong found it hard to breathe. Only when he stepped out of the office did that suffocating weight lessen.

“Hu—”

Leaning against the wall near the printer, he exhaled heavily.

She was only nineteen. Just a girl. Yet she carried the oppressive aura of a superior officer.

“Old Li, congratulations! I heard you just tricked some naive little girl. From now on, you can do whatever you want without looking over your shoulder!” His friend Qian Jin sauntered over, smirking.

After all, every path to money was etched in the criminal code.

With a scapegoat in hand, Li Zhonglong could rake in cash without worry.

“Shh! Watch your mouth! She’s no naive girl—she’s a living god!” Li Zhonglong slapped a hand over his friend’s mouth.

Qian Jin blinked. “What do you mean?”

Li shoved the annotated contract into his hands. “See for yourself.”

The moment Qian Jin’s eyes landed on the notes; his face twisted in shock.

“This… this—didn’t you say she came alone? You mean she had a professional lawyer with her?”

Li shook his head. “No lawyer. She spotted it all herself.”

Qian Jin’s jaw dropped. “You’re kidding.”

“Why would I?” Li wiped the sweat off his brow. “And do you know how long it took her to catch all this?”

Qian Jin frowned. “Two hours?”

Li shook his head.

“Three?”

Another shake.

“Don’t tell me… four? But it’s only half past ten. You started at eight!”

Li held up three fingers. “Not three hours. Not even thirty minutes. Three minutes. She did all this in three minutes. Honestly, I exaggerated—maybe only two!”

Qian Jin’s eyes bulged. “Impossible!”

He had majored in law.

The clauses Jiang Ning filled in were textbook perfection. Even as a trained professional, he couldn’t have done it in half an hour.

“Impossible? I was sitting right there watching her. I’m telling you—Miss Jiang is no ordinary person. In my whole life, I’ve never admired anyone. She’s the first.”

Qian Jin was speechless.

If she entered the legal world, she’d crush everyone in seconds.

Before long, the new contract was ready.

Li Zhonglong carried it back with the reverence of an offering. “Miss Jiang, here is the corrected contract.”

Jiang Ning flipped through it, her eyes sharp, her speed blinding—yet she missed nothing.

Satisfied, she signed her name.

“Congratulations, Miss Jiang. You have successfully acquired Shuangyou Property.” Li’s voice was respectful, bordering on worship.

“Thank you.” Jiang Ning rose.

“Would you allow me to show you around the company?”

She gave a slight nod.

“Please.” Li bowed slightly.

Her steps echoed as she followed him through the modest office of barely twenty staffers.

…

That evening, 6:30 PM.

Jiang Ning returned home to the smell of cooking.

Grandpa Jiang had already set the table: braised fish, stir-fried greens, and lean pork soup.

“Ning Ning, dinner’s ready,” he called while fiddling with the juicer. “Want apple juice or orange juice?”

“Apple,” Jiang Ning smiled. “Thank you, Grandpa.”

He chuckled as he peeled oranges for himself. Jiang Ning washed her hands and carried dishes out.

Five minutes later, the two sat down together.

After praising his cooking, Jiang Ning said, “Grandpa, tomorrow at nine, call Grandpa Ma and Grandpa Li. We’re going to the property company.”

“Property company? Why?”

“I told you—Zhang Lei will apologize to you personally. And Grandpa Ma and Grandpa Li lost their jobs for helping you. I’ve arranged lighter, better-paid positions for them.”

Grandpa Jiang blinked, startled. “Ning Ning, you’re serious?”

She nodded, sipping her soup. “Completely serious. So make sure they’re ready by nine.”

…

The next morning, 9 AM.

Jiang Ning, Grandpa Jiang, and the two old men arrived at the company.

The moment they stepped inside, Zhang Lei strutted over with arrogance, dripping from every word.

“Stop right there! Jiang Fuhai, Ma Gui, Li Qiang—you think just because a higher-up is visiting today you’ll get your jobs back? Don’t dream! You three are blacklisted for life. Not in this lifetime, nor the next! Now get lost before you dirty the place!”

Ma Gui and Li Qiang exchanged bitter looks. They’d expected no apology, but facing Zhang Lei’s smugness still stung.

Jiang Ning was only nineteen. Could she really pull this off?

Her brows drew together, her eyes cold as ice.

Zhang Lei shivered under her gaze, then barked, “What are you glaring at, you little brat? At the end of the day, you’re just a cleaner’s granddaughter!”

“Xiao Zhang, what’s going on out here? Miss Jiang is coming any moment—are you ready?”

A tall man emerged—Director Dai Shanlin.

Zhang Lei instantly switched faces, bowing and scraping. “Director Dai, it’s nothing—just a few troublemakers. I told them to scram. It won’t affect Miss Jiang’s visit.”

Dai barely cared… until his eyes fell on Jiang Ning.

His calm expression shattered. “M-Miss Jiang?!”

“What?!” Zhang Lei sneered. “Director Dai, you’re mistaken! She’s just a cleaner’s granddaughter. How could she be Miss Jiang?”

Before he could finish, Dai Shanlin’s palm cracked across his cheek.

“Blind fool! You dare not recognize Miss Jiang? Get on your knees and apologize at once!”
