Lu Yibei created two folders on his laptop.

One was labeled “For Posting”, meant for sending to President Li for the school’s public account.

The other was labeled “Personal”, into which he dumped every single photo of the heroine from the memory card.

Before picking the official photos, he went over the “Personal” folder several times, savoring each shot.

He even picked a few of the best ones and sent them to his phone.

Lu Yibei had two pinned chats on WeChat.

One, naturally, was the heroine.

The other was one he couldn’t go a moment without: “File Transfer Assistant.”

He selected two photos from it.

One for the lock screen, one for the home screen.

He locked his phone, unlocked it.

Locked it again, unlocked it again.

Back and forth, several times.

The lock screen showed her profile, while the home screen was her full face—unlocking the phone felt like she was turning to face him, gazing straight into his eyes.

Perfect, Lu Yibei thought.

“Yibei? Phone broken?”

Liu Jie happened to glance at him, noticing his phone. “Are you ok?”

“Fine, thank you,” Lu Yibei replied.

He was about to put the phone down and work when it vibrated.

Resigned, he had her turn for him once more… hehe.

Friend request.

ID: Not from Qin.

Lu Yibei: …

Accepted.

He quickly changed the note name to “Li Si.”

[Li Si: It’s me, Li Si.]
[Li Si: I got your WeChat from Xia Li.]
[Li Si: Brother Yibei, sorry to bother you.]
[Li Si: Please pick the photos ASAP.]
[YibeiNorth: Got it.]
[YibeiNorth: Already on it, at most half an hour.]
[YibeiNorth: By the way, senior… is it okay for me to call you Brother Yibei?]
[YibeiNorth: It’s killing my lifespan.]
[Li Si: It’s fine, we’re classmates.]
[Li Si: We’ll call each other what we like—you call me senior, I call you Brother Yibei.]
[Li Si: Xia Li calls you that anyway, so I just follow along.]

Lu Yibei thought: Sima Zhao was centuries ago…

[Li Si: Focus on your work first, just send the photos to my account when ready.]
[YibeiNorth: Ok.]

Lu Yibei worked efficiently.

Within minutes, he had picked thirteen photos and sent them over.

Li Si was impressed.

[Li Si: That fast? And the quality is so high.]
[Li Si: Keep the card reader and memory card for now. I’ll take you out to eat later, then you can return them.]
[YibeiNorth: No need.]
[Li Si: Still want to—when are you free?]

Lu Yibei checked the two-week weather forecast.

Rain for the next few days… finally clearing on the 26th.

[YibeiNorth: Let’s do it after the 26th.]
[YibeiNorth: Before then, I’m a bit busy.]

Li Si didn’t ask what he was busy with. Just a nod, a thank you, and the conversation ended.

Lu Yibei was efficient—but Li Si’s communication efficiency surpassed him.

In less than five minutes, he had explained thanks, the return of the memory card, and the dinner invite. True to the President title.

Lu Yibei had considered sending the photos to the heroine so she could see how stunning she looked.

But it was probably right after her meal, maybe napping. And if he started chatting with her, they’d get distracted and cling to each other, unable to stop.

Better to finish coding first.

See, I love my readers too much. Even if it means putting aside my own feelings, I’ll bring them a brand-new story, Lu Yibei thought.

But as he typed a few hundred words, his mind began to drift.

Confessing on a sunny day was perfect.

But the method… or rather, the process?

He’d wanted the simplest, most effective approach: look her in the eyes and declare “I like you.”

Only to be interrupted—leaving him empty-handed.

Lu Yibei knew that even if he tried again the same way, she’d laugh and accept it.

Because she was that wonderful.

Yet… precisely because she was so perfect, he now questioned this plan.

The better she was, the harder he had to push himself to give it everything.

He leaned over the desk, scratching his scalp.

Confessing on a sunny day was right.

But what paired best with a sunny day?

“Stop scratching! Our CompSci heads need protecting!” Hao Pangzi got out of bed. “What’s up, Yibei? Writer’s block?”

“No.” Lu Yibei replied.

Hao Pangzi plopped into his chair, grabbing Lu Yibei’s prized guitar and strummed two crisp chords.

If Liu Jie picked it up, Zhao Sun would’ve kicked it out the door. He could only make noise like a cat clawing a blackboard.

Pangzi, however, was skilled—not peerless, but among the top.

They all enjoyed his occasional performances.

Hao Zhangwen once joked: if he were a bit more handsome, squatting with the guitar below the girls’ dorm would make him a musical heartthrob. But fat like this, he was just a goblin priest.

“Pangzi,” Lu Yibei released his head, looking at him. “Any new compositions?”

“Started, but only a bit,” Pangzi replied.

“When will it be done?”

“Not sure yet. Why?”

“Lend me the guitar,” Lu Yibei said, taking it.

He studied his fingers. Regular guitarists’ fingers hardened with calluses, like Pangzi. Lu Yibei’s long fingers, however, were still fair and smooth.

“It’s been a while,” Lu Yibei said. “Help me check and correct me, okay?”

“Sure.”

As the prelude of Sunny Day began, Lu Yibei realized something.

He had just said he loved someone… forget it.

Better to keep loving the heroine.

But the wind, gradually…

…

Ji Qingqian napped a while.

Lu Yibei’s ocean white noise worked well; she put on another to listen.

And she dreamed again.

A beach, sunshine, and an endless coastline.

When she opened her eyes, it was past three in the afternoon.

Sometimes long naps left her dizzy, like she was lost in time.

She took off her headphones, hearing soft chatter—her roommates.

Relieved, she realized she had already successfully gotten into Lu Yibei’s school.

Sitting up, Ma Jiaojiao, chatting with Chu Chu below, looked up.

“Ji Qingqian, did we wake you?”

Shaking her head: “Woke up naturally.”

“Come down, the photos from Senior Lu are out.”

Ji Qingqian jumped down.

Ma Jiaojiao and the others gathered around Chu Chu’s phone.

“The student council really publishes fast,” Ma Jiaojiao said in awe. Military training ended just at noon, yet the photos were already out.

“One, two, three…” Chu Chu counted proudly. “I’m in three of them! Haha, maybe senior thinks I look photogenic too?”

“Chu Chu,”

Ma Jiaojiao elbowed the boastful girl—right in the chest.

Chu Chu was jolted awake, having appeared three times, while Ji Qingqian only once… a taboo topic.

“It must’ve been other seniors… besides Senior Lu, someone else had a camera,” she hurriedly explained.

Accidentally, she scrolled to the bottom.

Review: Li Si
Photography: Lu Yibei

Just one photographer.

Chu Chu: …

Was Senior Lu signaling Ji Qingqian to eliminate him from the frame?

The Chaozhou girl was sweating—what grudge could he have?

Ji Qingqian remained calm.

She wouldn’t get angry over this.

If anything, she should feel lucky—he understood her too well.

She pulled her phone from under the pillow, checking if Lu Yibei had sent messages while she slept.

…A long string.

[Lu Yibei: photo.jpg]
[Lu Yibei: photo.jpg]
[Lu Yibei: photo.jpg]
…
[Lu Yibei: Admire Nuwa’s graduation project]

Over thirty beautiful photos in total.

The glow from the screen reflected in her eyes, sparkling.

He didn’t just understand her—he adored her.

Ji Qingqian pressed her lips together, refusing to let a smile slip.

[Qingqian: You’ve stolen all my attention.]
[Qingqian: You owe me.]
[Lu Yibei: ?]
