Su Yan acted swiftly, taking Yang Rou and Wu Tie into the Misty Territory on the same day. However, he blindfolded them to keep the secrets of the Misty Territory hidden until they passed their tests.

In the current world, many territories were considered forbidden zones, but perhaps only Su Family Village had the unique privilege of communicating with such a zone. This was a significant advantage for Su Family Village, but the most crucial element was the Divine Tree.

Unlike other forbidden zones where the beasts were hostile to humans, the Divine Tree welcomed all, treating both spirit beasts and humans with equal kindness.

To Su Yan, this level of benevolence could only belong to a divine being.

Half an hour later, completely unaware of their surroundings, Yang Rou and Wu Tie were brought before Su Mu.

“I already know your intentions,” Su Mu conveyed through his thoughts. “These two children are quite promising.”

Before they arrived, he had already sensed their thoughts using his Heart Peering ability. Yang Rou and Wu Tie were both pure-hearted.

Immediately, Su Mu condensed two drops of Life Essence and bestowed them upon the children.

Su Yan, relieved, removed their blindfolds.

Yang Rou and Wu Tie were instantly stunned, completely overwhelmed by their surroundings. Half an hour ago, they were still in Su Family Village, and now, they were in a place that seemed terrifying. Everywhere they looked, they saw massive beasts and towering trees.

“This is the ultimate blessed land of Su Family Village,” Su Yan explained. “The supreme Divine Tree stands before you, a source of boundless wonders. The giant beasts around you are the Divine Tree’s sacred pets. Kneel before the Divine Tree.”

Without hesitation, Yang Rou and Wu Tie did as they were told. They were both incredibly excited. At this moment, they realized the true weight of being core members of Su Family Village.

Su Mu smiled, sending the two drops of Life Essence into their foreheads.

In just a few moments, Yang Rou and Wu Tie were transformed from ordinary humans into early-stage Qi Refining cultivators. Feeling the changes in their bodies, they looked at the Divine Tree with awe and reverence, realizing it was truly divine.

“Hmm?”

From them, Su Mu sensed the faint stirrings of faith, though neither had yet formed a true Heart of Faith. It seemed they still needed a bit more time.

Su Mu wasn’t in a hurry. His approach to humanity was long-term. When the Divine Tree Kingdom was fully established, he believed many would form Hearts of Faith.

After paying their respects to the Divine Tree, Su Yan led Yang Rou and Wu Tie out of the Misty Territory.

“The Divine Tree is the ultimate secret of Su Family Village. It must not be revealed,” Su Yan sternly instructed them.

Both nodded seriously.

After they left, the area around Su Mu became quiet once more. But before he could dwell on the solitude, the Sea Monk returned with a group of sea monsters.

This group wasn’t as large as the last one, likely due to the sea monsters being cautious. The last group that followed the Sea Monk disappeared, making the others wary. The only reason there was still such a large group was due to the Sea Monk’s strong influence.

Su Mu was delighted and quickly absorbed the sea monsters.

With a flourish, he gained 8,000 years of lifespan, bringing his total to 8,950 years.

Looking at his status, Su Mu decided to attempt something he had been contemplating.

He now possessed several fourth-tier abilities, but none at the fifth-tier. He was curious about the power of a fifth-tier ability. However, upgrading an ability from the fourth to the fifth tier required 9,000 years of lifespan—an enormous cost.

Because of this, Su Mu had hesitated until now.

But the time had come.

Su Mu waited two more days until his lifespan reached 9,070 years.

“Upgrade!”

Without hesitation, Su Mu poured 9,000 years of lifespan into his Power of Mist, one of his safest defensive abilities.

Boom!

Suddenly, Su Mu’s mind went blank as if everything in the world faded into nothingness. Then, endless spiritual energy transformed into mist, radiating from Su Mu’s body in all directions.

In Nanjing City, at the heart of the Heavenly Pivot Formation, a young woman was yawning as she kept watch. Monitoring the Heavenly Pivot Formation was the most boring job, but suddenly, her eyes widened in shock.

“What’s happening?”

The young woman was filled with uncertainty.

Li Qianjue happened to be passing by and noticed her expression. “Tang Xin, is something wrong?” he asked, surprised.

Tang Xin looked both serious and puzzled. “City Lord, just now, the spiritual energy in the Misty Forbidden Territory within the Ancient Wilderness spiked dramatically. For a moment, it exceeded the limits of the Heavenly Pivot Formation’s sensors. But the change only lasted for a breath before everything returned to normal. Now the spiritual energy level is back to 9,000 jie.”

“Is that so?”

Li Qianjue frowned and then shook his head. “It’s probably just a sensor error. The Heavenly Pivot Formation’s limit is 400,000 jie. Even the Black-Bellied Sand Lizard that nearly threatened the Roman Empire had a spiritual energy field of only 300,000 jie. Are you suggesting that the Misty Territory has more energy than the Sand Lizard’s domain?”

Tang Xin breathed a sigh of relief. “You’re right, City Lord. It must have been a mistake.”

“That’s normal,” Li Qianjue said. “The Heavenly Pivot Formation has been running for 3,000 years. It’s not unusual for it to have a slight glitch now and then. There’s no need to worry.”

With that, he left the area, not giving the matter another thought.

In Qingzhou, there was an even more powerful spiritual energy monitoring formation, known as the Seven Stars Ancient Array. This array was made up of seven major formations: Heavenly Pivot, Heavenly Authority, Heavenly Secret, Heavenly Dominion, Jade Balance, Sun Opener, and Radiant Light.

The other formations were placed in cities like Nanjing, while the core of the array was in Qingzhou.

The Seven Stars Array acted as a central hub, compiling data from the other formations and making coordinated decisions based on that information.

At this moment, the keeper of the Seven Stars Array noticed a fluctuation.

“Nanjing City just detected a spiritual energy fluctuation in the Misty Territory, but it was later confirmed as a sensor error,” the keeper noted, logging the event without much concern.

After all, there were many forbidden zones in the world now, with thirty-seven in Qingzhou alone. Sporadic fluctuations in spiritual energy were common and didn’t warrant much attention.

Meanwhile, in the secret cultivation grounds of Green Hills Mansion, Su Yao sat in meditation. Suddenly, a communication talisman arrived.

Talismanic communication was the primary method of long-distance contact in the cultivation world. In Qingzhou, these talismans worked through the Seven Stars Ancient Array, capable of transmitting messages across thousands of miles in an instant.

Su Yao received the talisman, intrigued. “Tang Xin?”

“It’s me,” came the voice, filled with admiration.

Tang Xin and Su Yao had known each other since their days in Nanjing City. However, Su Yao’s exceptional talent had always set her apart, like the moon in the sky, too brilliant for Nanjing to contain.

When Su Yao moved to Green Hills Mansion, her fame only grew, and even in Nanjing, Tang Xin frequently heard of her accomplishments, making her admiration even stronger.

“You asked me to keep an eye on the Misty Forbidden Territory,” Tang Xin said. “Just now, there was a strong fluctuation in its spiritual energy.”

Su Yao’s heart tightened, but she maintained a calm demeanor. “What happened after that?”
