“So majestic,” Su Luo couldn’t help but feel deeply impacted as she gazed at the towering mountain, twenty thousand feet high, ahead of her.

“Senior Sister Zhao,” numerous Violet Sun Sect disciples greeted Zhao Xueqing as they passed by.

Zhao Xueqing nodded with a smile.

The disciples looked at Su Luo with puzzled expressions. “And who is this?”

“This is my new junior sister from Azure Cloud Hall, Su Luo. I left the sect to find her,” Zhao Xueqing explained.

“So it’s Junior Sister Su,” the disciples responded, offering their congratulations. “Congratulations, Senior Sister, and congratulations to Azure Cloud Hall.”

“Su Luo, follow me,” Zhao Xueqing instructed.

Following Zhao Xueqing, Su Luo officially entered the Violet Sun Sect.

Not long after, her face filled with awe.

As soon as she stepped into Violet Sun Sect, she noticed that the surrounding terraces were not planted with crops but with blood ganoderma.

These blood ganodermas needed to be nourished with the blood and flesh of beasts, making them highly beneficial for a cultivator’s vitality.

While Su Luo was shocked, Zhao Xueqing remained calm, evidently accustomed to such sights.

“Our Azure Cloud Hall specializes in alchemy,” Zhao Xueqing explained. “Since my master is not in the sect, I will be the one to guide you in alchemy.”

“Thank you, Senior Sister,” Su Luo responded earnestly.

Back in the Ancient Wilderness Mountains, Su Mu continued his routine, accumulating life force each day while also expanding his underground kingdom.

The uppermost part of the underground kingdom was five hundred feet below the surface, while the deepest parts reached one thousand feet.

But for Su Mu, this depth was not enough.

Previously, he had been unable to reach deeper depths, as his power over the earth did not extend that far.

However, with the groundhogs, everything was different.

The groundhogs could dig even deeper.

Another month passed, and fifty of the one hundred groundhogs had completed their spiritual transformation.

Although Su Mu could produce three drops of Life Essence daily, which would be enough to transform ninety groundhogs, he couldn’t use all of it on them.

Other spirit beasts needed to share in the resources as well.

Whenever they accomplished something, Su Mu would grant them Life Essence.

Even with just fifty transformed groundhogs, their efficiency was astounding.

In a single month, the underground kingdom’s height increased to six thousand feet, with its diameter expanding to thirty thousand feet—about six miles.

This was no longer a small town but a city.

Su Mu’s lifespan had increased by another 1500 years.

He used 1000 years to upgrade his power over the earth to the third tier, which accelerated the expansion of his underground kingdom.

He then spent 500 years upgrading his sword mastery to the second tier.

[Species: Spirit Gingko Tree]

[Height: 420 feet]

[Lifespan: 250 years]

[Tier: Third-tier, Low Grade]

[Abilities: Earth Fiend Transformation, Heaven and Human Induction, Life Essence Condensation, Innate Talent Duplication, Fourth-Tier Phantom Snow Eyes, Third-Tier Heart of Faith, Fourth-Tier Power of the Mist, Third-tier Heart Peering, Second-Tier Earth Force, Second-Tier Sword Mastery]

Without realizing it, Su Mu had grown to a height of 420 feet.

His roots now reached a depth of 1000 feet.

By channeling his spiritual power, he could extend a root to a depth of 5000 feet temporarily, though these roots would be formed of spiritual energy rather than true roots.

During this time, Su Yao brought Su Mu two important pieces of news.

First, the black crocodile from the ancient cave mansion had been severely injured and imprisoned by the human race.

Its situation was dire.

Though not dead, it was suffering a fate worse than death.

Imprisoned in a dungeon, the black crocodile was subjected to daily bloodletting and flesh harvesting by various factions within the Great Xia Empire, who used its body for all sorts of experiments.

One particularly fanatical faction, the “Heaven and Earth Pavilion,” repeatedly petitioned to dissect the black crocodile.

If it weren’t for other factions also wanting to study the creature and banding together to block the pavilion’s requests, the black crocodile’s fate would have been even worse.

This news made Su Mu more cautious and resolute.

If he were ever discovered by humans and found lacking in strength, his fate would likely be as grim as the black crocodile’s, with death being a luxury.

So, he needed to stay low-profile and continue to strengthen himself.

The second piece of news was about a second disaster that had struck the Eastern Sea.

This time, the sea monster leading the attack was said to be a “Sea Monk,” a creature from ancient times.

The Sea Monk was even more terrifying than the giant shark from the last incident.

Luckily, the Sea Monk mysteriously disappeared three days after it appeared, sparing the Eastern Sea from further devastation.

In the underground world, a month passed, and Huang Shuling and Lin Che gradually adapted to life there.

Now, they no longer wished to leave.

Living near the Earth Spirit Stalactite Cavern, the spiritual energy in the underground world was far superior to other places.

Su Mu was generous with his subordinates and his own people.

As long as they could handle it, he allowed them to use the Spirit Earth Stalactite for cultivation.

Water came from the underground river, and they had an abundance of beast meat to eat.

Sometimes they could even fish from the underground river or gather wild fruits and vegetables from the forest to vary their diet.

At this moment, the two were fishing by the river.

Using spiritual energy to form nets, they were very efficient at catching fish.

Suddenly, Huang Shuling was startled. “Lin Che, I have a sense of danger.”

Lin Che was puzzled. “How can that be? This is the Divine Tree’s domain.”

Despite his words, he trusted Huang Shuling’s ability and quickly pulled her away from the riverbank.

Almost simultaneously, the river began to churn.

This was no small stream; the underground river was a hundred zhang wide at its broadest point, and its depth was immeasurable.

So far, neither Lin Che nor Huang Shuling, nor even Su Mu, had figured out where the underground river originated.

As the river continued to churn, the disturbance grew stronger, causing the entire river to surge violently.

Splash!

Half a cup of tea later, under the shocked gaze of Huang Shuling and Lin Che, a humanoid monster emerged from the water.

The creature was covered in black scales and stood fifty zhang tall.

Lin Che’s eyes widened in horror. “A Sea Monk!”

The Sea Monk was a creature of legend, but six months ago, someone had claimed to see it in the Forbidden Sea of the Eastern Sea.

Lin Che and Huang Shuling never imagined they would encounter the Sea Monk here.

Wasn’t it supposed to be in the Eastern Sea? How did it end up here?

Could this underground river lead all the way to the Eastern Sea?

“Hmm?”

Such a significant disturbance couldn’t escape Su Mu’s notice.

He immediately sensed the arrival of the sea monster.

Upon hearing Lin Che’s words, Su Mu paused.

So this was the “Sea Monk.”

He remembered Su Yao mentioning that a terrifying sea monster had attacked Longzhou in the Eastern Sea.

That sea monster was called the “Sea Monk.”

[Species: Sea Giant Ape]

[Height: 500 feet]

[Lifespan: 1200 years]

[Tier: Second-tier, Supreme Grade]

[Abilities: Water Manipulation, Prajna Chant]

Prajna Chant?

This was an unusual ability.

Even Su Mu couldn’t quite grasp its full potential.

Moreover, this Sea Monk was undoubtedly the most powerful spirit beast Su Mu had encountered so far.

The Sea Monk seemed to possess a keen sense of awareness.

As Su Mu observed it, the Sea Monk appeared to notice and turned its gaze towards Su Mu’s tree.

“Roar.” The next moment, the Sea Monk roared at Su Mu.

It was a clear challenge.
