Three months ago, a wild boar had crashed into and broken a ginkgo tree.

That ginkgo tree had withered and died since.

Now, with a wild boar charging towards Su Mu, it had undoubtedly chosen the wrong target.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…

Five hundred leaves began to dance, some driving the branches to sweep out, while others shot like flying daggers.

In an instant, the wild boar was tightly entangled by the branches, its body slashed by the sharp leaves.

The boar struggled desperately, roaring and thrashing.

But no matter how hard it struggled, it couldn’t escape.

Sixty breaths later, the wild boar fell still, dead.

[Lifespan: 55 years]

Su Mu was stunned.

A wild boar had given him fifty years of lifespan?

How was that possible?

After all, the typical lifespan of a pig is only about 20 years.

“Something’s not right.”

Su Mu quickly realized, “A normal wild boar wouldn’t have been able to break a ginkgo tree so easily. This boar must be unusual.”

From his current perspective, Su Mu had subconsciously thought the boar’s size was ordinary.

But upon closer inspection, he found that this wild boar was over ten feet long.

Ordinary pigs usually only grow to about five feet in length.

“As expected, this is a spirit-infused wild boar.”

Su Mu immediately felt at ease. Then he was filled with joy. Fifteen years of lifespan weren’t enough to strengthen a main root, but what about fifty years?

Su Mu immediately tried to inject the fifty years of lifespan into one of his main roots.

Rumble!

Countless tiny points of light flowed into the main root.

Then the root began to tremble violently.

This transformation lasted for sixty breaths.

The main root, which had originally been twenty feet long, grew to fifty zhangs.

This was undoubtedly extraordinary.

Su Mu even felt that if he exerted enough force, he could pull himself out of the soil using this root.

With that thought, Su Mu couldn’t resist trying to move the main root.

The ground trembled.

The thick, dark root burst out of the soil under Su Mu’s control.

It looked like a massive serpent.

But as the root emerged from the soil, Su Mu immediately felt an unbearable tearing pain.

Not only was there pain, but Su Mu also sensed a life-threatening danger.

“Not good.”

Su Mu didn’t hesitate, quickly plunging the spirit-infused main root back into the soil.

“As expected, the roots are the essence of a tree’s life; they can’t be moved recklessly.”

Su Mu was still shaken by the experience.

With this lesson in mind, he buried the spirit-infused main root deep into the earth.

In the future, he wouldn’t allow anything or anyone to harm his roots.

“The main root is the most important. Even if I need to use my roots in the future, I’ll stick to using the fibrous roots.”

Su Mu decided.

At the same time, his status panel changed.

[Species: Spirit Ginkgo]
[Height: 60 feet]
[Lifespan: 5 years]
[Abilities: 500 Spirit-Infused Leaves, 100 Spirit-Infused Fibrous Roots, Ability to Congeal Spirit Ginkgo Fruit]

“Congeal Spirit Ginkgo Fruit?”

Su Mu hadn’t expected that infusing a main root would also grant him a new ability.

And it seemed that the Spirit Ginkgo Fruit could be congealed without consuming his lifespan.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye.

“There’s a beast?”

Su Mu detected a faint rustling sound.

The sound wasn’t coming from the air but from the ground.

This meant that a beast was approaching.

Before long, Su Mu saw a snow-white figure.

“A snow mink?”

The snow-white figure had flawless, pure white fur and gleaming black eyes, making it incredibly cute.

It gave the impression of a snow-white sprite running through the forest.

However, this snow mink was clearly not an ordinary one.

A normal snow mink is about a foot long.

This one, however, was over two feet long.

The snow mink moved cautiously. The area before it was unfamiliar. It shouldn’t have come here.

But it couldn’t resist the urge deep within its heart.

A strange, mystical aura was wafting from ahead. It was this aura that had drawn it. Finally, it stopped in front of a ginkgo tree.

The aura was emanating from this seemingly ordinary ginkgo.

Suddenly.

The snow mink’s fur stood on end.

Almost simultaneously, a fibrous root burst out of the ground, reaching for the snow mink. If not for the snow mink’s constant vigilance, it would have been caught.

“Squeak!”

The snow mink let out a sharp cry.

Its reaction speed was astonishing. In an instant, it transformed into a blur, leaping backward.

It didn’t just leap; it flew back.

In one bound, it covered twenty feet.

A normal snow mink could never leap so far.

Unfortunately, no matter how far or fast it jumped, it was of no use.

It had already entered Su Mu’s domain.

Several more fibrous roots shot out, immediately capturing the snow mink.

But Su Mu had no intention of killing this snow mink.

Though the mink was indeed beautiful and pleasing to Su Mu’s eye, that wasn’t nearly as important as lifespan.

Su Mu spared the snow mink because he could clearly sense the mystical energy radiating from it.

This energy was similar to that of his spirit-infused body.

Although the wild boar he had encountered earlier was extraordinary, it hadn’t radiated such a strong mystical energy.

‘A spirit-infused beast?’

Su Mu was very curious about this type of creature.

He decided to keep the snow mink and study it.

After all, he might face other spirit-infused beasts in the future.

He needed to prepare for that.

But now he faced a dilemma.

He couldn’t just keep the mink captive indefinitely.

Yet Su Mu was sure that if he released the snow mink, it would undoubtedly try to escape.

“The only option is to tame it.”

Su Mu, possessing human intelligence, knew a thing or two about taming wild animals.

With a thought, he released the snow mink.

As expected.

The mink immediately tried to flee.

Su Mu didn’t hesitate to recapture it with his fibrous roots.

It was worth noting that Su Mu’s fibrous roots could extend up to 100 feet.

This meant that within that range, Su Mu had full control.

Su Mu repeatedly released and recaptured the snow mink.

After several cycles, the mink’s lively eyes began to show a trace of despair, almost human-like.

This stirred Su Mu’s emotions, leading him to judge that the mink possessed a high level of intelligence.

After several more attempts, the snow mink finally gave up.

Even when Su Mu let it go, it no longer tried to escape, lying dejectedly on the ground.

A branch extended towards it.

The mink instinctively tensed.

But this time, the branch didn’t bind it. Instead, the leaves brushed gently over its fur, like a human hand.

The mink’s shiny black eyes widened in surprise.

“So smooth.”

Su Mu marveled inwardly.

The leaves, functioning like his fingertips, had a sense of touch.

He could clearly feel the mink’s silky fur.

This was something no ordinary animal could possess.

Under Su Mu’s touch, the snow mink’s tense body gradually relaxed.

Its eyes began to show a glimmer of affection and trust.

If it were an ordinary animal, it might eventually be tamed, but not this quickly.

The snow mink’s rapid submission was proof of its intelligence, its ability to sense Su Mu’s goodwill.

This was beneficial to Su Mu.

He wouldn’t need to spend too much time taming the snow mink.

Moreover, keeping the snow mink alive served another important purpose.

“Congeal Spirit Ginkgo Fruit,” Su Mu commanded internally.

Immediately, spiritual energy surged through one of his branches, and a white ginkgo fruit quickly formed.

At the same time.

One of Su Mu’s leaves withered rapidly.
