Wang Tianlu, the village chief of Wang Family Village, was dead!

Jiang Yuqian, the village chief of Jiang Family Village, was dead!

The only one who survived was Zhang Mingxiao, the chief of Zhang Family Village, who hadn’t come to the battle. Within just a dozen breaths, the invading forces were slaughtered by the ginkgo leaf, leaving a majority of them dead. The slaughter only ceased when the spiritual power within the ginkgo leaf was exhausted.

The scene was so horrifying that not only the people from the three villages but also the remaining villagers of Su Family Village were utterly shocked.

Su Qianqian’s method of killing was too terrifying.

“Leave no one alive,” Su Yan ordered swiftly as the ginkgo leaf crumbled into powder and dispersed into the wind. What had transpired within Su Family Village today could not be allowed to leak out.

With the majority of the attacking forces from the three villages dead, the remaining enemies were weak and easily dealt with. An hour later, the bloodstains stretched not only within Su Family Village but also on the ground three miles outside the village, where those who had attempted to flee were hunted down and killed by Su Yan and his men.

The surrounding villages were left in fear and awe. Everyone nearby knew that Luo Jiangchen, along with the forces of the three villages, had marched to destroy Su Family Village. Everyone believed that Su Family Village was doomed.

But the outcome was anything but ordinary; it was a monumental reversal. Luo Jiangchen and the three villages had mobilized a force of over three hundred, while only eighteen people remained in Su Family Village. Yet the result was that Luo Jiangchen and his three hundred men were annihilated.

“Could it be that Su Family Village truly has an ancestor?” The surrounding villagers were filled with dread.

In Zhang Family Village…

Crash!

The teacup fell from Zhang Mingxiao’s hand, shattering on the ground. Opposite him, Su Tao’s face was deathly pale. Zhang Mingxiao grabbed another teacup and violently smashed it over Su Tao’s head.

“Didn’t you say there was no ancestor in Su Family Village?” Zhang Mingxiao growled, glaring at Su Tao with fury. This time, Zhang Family Village had lost a hundred warriors, and he was overwhelmed with fear. Fortunately, his cautious nature had kept him from joining the attack, or he too would have perished.

Su Tao’s face turned ashen. This was an outcome he had never anticipated. When he chose to betray Su Family Village, it was because he believed the village was doomed. Had he known this, he would never have betrayed them.

But Su Tao was not a simple man. Though he regretted his decision deeply, he did not give in to despair.

“Chief Zhang, it’s meaningless to dwell on this now,” Su Tao said slowly. “With an ancestor in Su Family Village, do you think there’s still a place for Zhang Family Village in the entire Nanjing City?”

“Indeed,” Su Ming added hastily.

Zhang Mingxiao’s eyes darkened. “Miss Zhao,” he called out suddenly, “your senior brother was slain by the ancestor of Su Family Village. I doubt the Violet Sun Sect will let this pass, correct?”

A flash of white light, and a graceful figure appeared—it was Zhao Xueqing. Su Tao’s eyes lit up. With the power of Su Family Village’s ancestor, he and the Zhao family might not be able to exact revenge, but the Violet Sun Sect would make a difference. He was confident that if the Violet Sun Sect took action, the Su Family Village ancestor would not be able to withstand it.

But Zhao Xueqing suddenly smiled. Without warning, she struck Zhang Mingxiao with a ruthless blow. Zhang Mingxiao was caught off guard.

Pfft!

Zhao Xueqing’s hand pierced Zhang Mingxiao’s throat. Though his strength was only slightly inferior to Zhao Xueqing’s, the attack left him no chance.

“Why?” Zhang Mingshao gasped, unable to understand.

“Dead men shouldn’t ask so many questions,” Zhao Xueqing said calmly.

Su Tao and Su Ming turned to flee, but before they could get far, they were surrounded by figures, including Su Yan.

“Kill them,” Su Yan ordered coldly.

He would not let the traitors like Su Tao go. Although they didn’t know the true secrets of Su Family Village, they were familiar with its previous state. If captured by others, it could raise suspicion that the village was hiding something. Therefore, they had to die.

The traitors from Su Family Village, along with the remnants of Zhang Family Village, fled in terror. But the surrounding villages, which had already been brought under Su Family Village’s control, had sealed off every escape route.

The moment the three villages attacked Su Family Village and were annihilated, no other village dared to defy Su Family Village. Thus, it was effortless for Su Family Village to absorb these smaller villages into its own influence.

No one who fled Zhang Family Village survived. For a brief period, Zhang Family Village became a scene of hell.

Half an hour later, Zhang Family Village fell silent. Anyone over the age of three, whether from Zhang Family Village or among the traitors like Su Tao and Su Ming, was killed. In that moment, Su Yan revealed his ruthless side.

Standing amidst the bloodshed, Su Yan looked at Zhao Xueqing. “Miss Zhao, our operation succeeded so smoothly thanks to your assistance.”

Had it not been for Zhao Xueqing’s surprise attack on Zhang Mingxiao, things would not have gone so well. Without her help, Su Family Village would have suffered heavy losses, and even if they managed to destroy Zhang Family Village, there would have been no guarantee that word of the events wouldn’t have spread.

“No need to thank me,” Zhao Xueqing said with bright eyes. “I simply wanted to forge a bond with Su Family Village.”

“You have such high regard for Su Family Village?” Su Yan asked.

“Your village, hidden away in such a remote place, yet possessing such profound abilities,” Zhao Xueqing replied. “That alone shows the extraordinary nature of Su Family Village. As for Luo Jiangchen’s death, when I return to the sect, I’ll fabricate a story to cover for Su Family Village. Additionally, you can send one person from Su Family Village with me, and I will take them to the Violet Sun Sect to cultivate.”

Su Yan’s heart raced. Although Su Yao had already gone to Nanjing City, the allure of Violet Sun Sect was still immense. It was one of the major forces in Qingzhou. Compared to them, Su Family Village was nothing but a grain of rice.

“Consider it carefully. I will return in seven days,” Zhao Xueqing said with a smile.

In the Ancient Wilderness Mountain Range, within the Misty Zone, Su Mu smiled faintly. “This Zhao Xueqing is quite interesting,” he mused but didn’t pay it much mind.

He then conveyed the recent events in Su Family Village to Su Yao, who was far away in Qingzhou City.

Meanwhile, in Qingzhou City, as Su Yao’s progress in the Green Hills Art accelerated, her status in the Green Hills Mansion also rose. Recently, Green Hills Mansion had passed on to her a spell. The spell, called “Wood Essence Technique,” originated from the Ancient Grotto Mansion.

Green Hills Mansion had tested Su Yao’s spiritual roots. Spiritual roots represent a person’s affinity with the elements of the world. It turned out that Su Yao had an exceptionally high affinity with the wood element, rated as a supreme-grade single wood spiritual root. The “Wood Essence Technique” was a perfect match for her.

At this moment, Su Yao extended her right palm, from which green mist emanated. After a while, a green sprout appeared in the center of the mist, eventually growing into a small blade of grass. Given her current level of strength, Su Yao could only condense a single blade of grass. But this was already quite impressive.

“Yao’er, your talent is truly extraordinary,” a graceful woman remarked as she entered the room, her eyes lighting up at the sight. This woman was Xia Yuerong, the Grand Elder of Green Hills Mansion and Su Yao’s master. Her cultivation level was formidable, having reached the late stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm.
