After the White Spirit Python submitted to Su Mu, it continuously dug deeper into the ground. Su Mu knew that the White Spirit Python was constructing its own snake den.

But this den was far deeper than usual. Now, the White Spirit Python had already dug to a depth of three thousand feet.

“This guy has already reached the riverbed of the underground river.”

This was exactly what Su Mu wanted to explore.

For Su Mu, it was essential to fully understand this underground river.

At the very least, he needed to explore the riverbed thoroughly.

Previously, he couldn’t extend his reach this deep.

But now, with the White Spirit Python’s fondness for digging tunnels, it solved a major problem for him.

“Explore the deepest part of this riverbed for me, and I’ll reward you with a Ginkgo Spirit Fruit.”

Su Mu immediately conveyed his thoughts to the White Spirit Python, giving it extra motivation.

Sure enough, after receiving Su Mu’s thoughts, the White Spirit Python became even more energetic.

In the blink of an eye, three days passed.

The White Spirit Python had drilled down to a depth of five thousand feet into the riverbed.

An unbelievable thing happened—the White Spirit Python sensed an extremely dense wave of spiritual energy.

Could there really be spiritual energy at the deepest part of this riverbed?

The White Spirit Python was thrilled and continued digging downward with even greater enthusiasm.

Crack!

Suddenly, the riverbed was pierced.

The White Spirit Python had truly reached the bottom of the underground river.

Below was a karst cave.

But the water above didn’t seep into the cave.

Instead, a continuous stream of pure energy bubbled out of the cave, causing the river water to bubble up.

The White Spirit Python had been modified twice by Su Mu’s Ginkgo Spirit Fruit. As a result, Su Mu could vaguely sense the White Spirit Python’s perceptions.

Through the White Spirit Python’s senses, he discovered that beneath the riverbed lay a stalactite cave.

But this wasn’t an ordinary stalactite cave.

Extremely dense spiritual energy was gushing out from within the cave.

“Earth Spirit Stalactite.”

Su Mu recalled something Su Yao had mentioned before.

During the golden age of the cultivation world, there were two valuable commodities: one was spirit stones, and the other was Earth Spirit Stalactite.

Now, deep underground, there was a cave filled with Earth Spirit Stalactites.

The White Spirit Python was ecstatic. As a spirit beast, it instinctively knew that this place would be incredibly beneficial for it. However, before its excitement could last long, it suddenly sensed a suppressive aura.

This aura made it feel an uncontrollable panic.

Crack! Crack!

At the same time, a section of the cave wall began to crack.

Rumble…

The entire cave started to shake.

About ten breaths later, a large section of the cave wall collapsed.

The White Spirit Python quickly saw that within the collapsed area of the cave, there was an enormous, terrifying creature.

It was a giant gray-scaled lizard.

The White Spirit Python was already quite large. By now, it had advanced to a supreme-grade first-tier spirit python, measuring eighty feet in length.

But this gray-scaled lizard was 150 feet long, nearly twice the size of the White Spirit Python.

If it had been the Snow Spirit Mink or the Ironback Ape, they would have turned and fled.

But the White Spirit Python, with its dull nature, instead flicked its tongue at the gray-scaled lizard.

The gray-scaled lizard was not one to be provoked.

Whoosh!

Despite its massive size, the gray-scaled lizard moved with surprising speed. In an instant, it pounced on the White Spirit Python, slashing at it with a heavy claw.

The White Spirit Python, a supreme-grade first-tier spirit python, couldn’t even withstand a single blow from the gray-scaled lizard and was sent flying.

Bang, bang, bang…

The White Spirit Python was completely overpowered and trampled by the gray-scaled lizard.

If it weren’t for its tough hide, it would have been dead already.

After being continuously trampled, the White Spirit Python’s limited intelligence finally kicked in.

This bit of intelligence had developed after consuming three Ginkgo Spirit Fruits.

In the past, it would have fought the gray-scaled lizard to the death.

Escape!

The White Spirit Python began digging upward.

A quarter of an hour later.

The ground beneath Su Mu was disturbed.

Then, a blood-covered giant python emerged from the soil.

When Su Mu saw its condition, a wave of killing intent surged within him.

No matter what, the White Spirit Python was now his spirit beast.

You don’t beat a dog without considering its master.

How could Su Mu not be angry?

Three miles away, at the edge of the lake Su Mu had named “Mist Lake,” all the birds and beasts suddenly froze.

Whoosh!

They all turned to look three miles away at the thirty-three zhang tall Ginkgo tree.

Many of the beasts trembled and prostrated themselves.

They could feel the Ginkgo tree’s fury.

Now, within a hundred-mile radius of the mountains, no beast was unaware of this Ginkgo tree.

In the eyes of the beasts, this tree was the undisputed ruler.

Some even regarded it as a divine tree.

And now, the divine tree was angry.

Despite his anger, Su Mu didn’t lose his composure.

He quickly condensed a Ginkgo Spirit Fruit and had the White Spirit Python consume it.

The White Spirit Python’s body rapidly healed.

“Divine Tree, what happened?”

Su Yao, who was communicating with Su Mu, could feel his rage.

She was astonished.

Since she had known the Divine Tree, this was the first time she had seen it angry.

Su Mu didn’t hide anything and coldly explained, “I sent Mist to explore the underground, and it was severely injured by a giant lizard.”

Mist was the name Su Mu had given to the White Spirit Python.

Su Yao was shocked. “Mist is a supremer-grade first-tier demon beast, and that giant lizard could overpower it. How powerful must it be? And how could such a powerful creature exist so deep underground?”

Su Mu responded, “There’s an Earth Spirit Stalactite cave hidden deep underground.”

Su Yao’s breath caught, and then she broke into a smile. “Congratulations, Divine Tree, this is indeed a blessing from the heavens.”

Su Mu’s expression remained unchanged. “Before that, I must deal with the giant lizard.”

Su Mu then ordered the Snow Spirit Mink to assist the White Spirit Python in luring the giant lizard up.

The giant lizard was extremely powerful. The White Spirit Python had barely escaped with its life. If it went alone again, its luck might not hold.

So Su Mu had the Snow Spirit Mink assist. The Snow Spirit Mink had the Phantom Snow Eyes, which could disorient the giant lizard. With the Snow Spirit Mink and the White Spirit Python working together, Su Mu believed they could lure the giant lizard to the surface.

Upon receiving Su Mu’s instructions, the Snow Spirit Mink didn’t hesitate.

Once the White Spirit Python had recovered about seventy to eighty percent of its strength, it set off with the Snow Spirit Mink. Other spirit beasts might have hesitated.

But the White Spirit Python was known for its stubbornness.

Even though the gray-scaled lizard had nearly killed it before, it was still unafraid, its eyes filled with hatred.

Soon, it led the Snow Spirit Mink back into the underground cave.

“Roar!”

Seeing the White Spirit Python daring to return, the gray-scaled lizard was even angrier than before.

It charged madly at the White Spirit Python. The Snow Spirit Mink quickly used its Phantom Snow Eyes to disorient the gray-scaled lizard’s attacks.

But its strength was still inferior to the gray-scaled lizard.

The gray-scaled lizard only stayed in the illusion for a brief moment before breaking free, charging forward with even more rage. The White Spirit Python acted as a shield, taking the brunt of the attacks.

The Snow Spirit Mink focused on weakening the lizard’s attack power.

The White Spirit Python was still injured, but each wound was noticeably lighter than the last.

This time, it didn’t flee as quickly as before and even paused occasionally to taunt the gray-scaled lizard.

The gray-scaled lizard seemed accustomed to staying in the underground cave and was reluctant to leave. Last time, it only chased the White Spirit Python for less than 1000 feet before turning back.

That was the only reason the White Spirit Python had escaped.

But this time, because of the constant taunting from the White Spirit Python and the Snow Spirit Mink, it grew increasingly enraged and didn’t turn back, instead chasing them all the way up.

Within half an hour, the three spirit beasts had entered the range of Su Mu’s roots.
