The white mushrooms were undoubtedly Immortal Mushrooms.

Nanzhao would inevitably remain in chaos for a long time to come.

This chaos would provide abundant life energy for the Immortal Mushrooms.

And for Su Mu, it meant an immense amount of lifespan.

For instance, this war in Nanzhao had brought Su Mu another substantial gain in lifespan.

A total of 530,000 years.

The spoils of a war that ended a nation were truly astonishing.

And this was with the limited expansion speed of the Immortal Mushrooms.

In the early stages of the war, since the Immortal Mushrooms had not yet expanded into Nanzhao, Su Mu was unable to harvest most of the lifespan available.

He only managed to harvest some lifespan toward the end of the war.

Of course, Su Mu was never a greedy person.

He knew how to be satisfied.

But the surprises from Nanzhao didn’t end there.

“Lord Divine Tree, we discovered two national treasures in the royal treasury of Nanzhao, along with an ice jade box.

“This ice jade box seems peculiar; inside, there are two strange jade silkworms,” reported his subordinates, as they presented the three items before Su Mu.

The first was carrying a small flag, exuding a strong stormy aura.

The second carried a gourd, filled with intense fiery energy.

These were the two national treasures.

Compared to the eighteen national treasures owned by the Great Xia Empire, Nanzhao was clearly far inferior.

However, having two national treasures was still remarkable.

More importantly, it added further depth to the Misty Forbidden Zone.

Finally, there was the long, slender jade box.

Su Mu’s spirit stirred.

From the jade box, he sensed two incredibly mysterious auras.

With a quick scan using his spiritual sense, he confirmed that inside were two plump, jade-white silkworms.

The aura of these silkworms was weak, clearly in a frozen state.

Su Mu had a feeling reminiscent of when he first encountered the Azure Dragon’s blood.

He immediately read the status information of the two silkworms.

[Species: Void Land Silkworm (Larval Stage)]
[Length: 3 inches]
[Lifespan: 300,000 years]
[Rank: Fifth-tier, Lower Grade]
[Abilities: Power of Space]

Su Mu was greatly shaken.

This was undoubtedly the species with the longest lifespan he had ever encountered.

Even the Immortal Mushrooms couldn’t compare.

Furthermore, their rank was absurdly high.

They were only larvae, yet they were already at the lower grade of the fifth tier.

That meant they were born as fifth-tier beings.

Moreover, their abilities were extremely unique.

There was no doubt that the Power of Space was an ability on par with the Power of Rebirth.

This was an ability that Su Mu could not replicate.

Based on his senses from the status panel, Su Mu felt that replicating this ability would require over a million years of lifespan.

But just because he couldn’t replicate the ability didn’t mean he couldn’t make use of these two silkworms.

The two silkworms were different from the Azure Dragon’s blood.

The Azure Dragon’s blood was just blood, potentially linked to a terrifying Azure Dragon.

The two Void Land Silkworms, however, were complete living beings.

As long as Su Mu could subdue them, there would be no fear of any backlash.

And since they were in their larval stage, it was the best time to subdue them.

“These two Void Land Silkworms are likely remnants from ancient times. Who knows how the Nanzhao royal family came to possess them?”

Su Mu couldn’t help but marvel at the deep heritage of these nations.

Even a small country like Nanzhao had such heaven-defying objects hidden away.

Next, Su Mu decisively opened the ice jade box.

The box itself was extraordinary; while it wasn’t quite a national treasure, it was still a magical artifact.

As soon as the ice jade box was opened, the freezing power was released, and the two plump silkworms inside slowly awakened.

Though they were fifth-tier creatures, the two silkworms had no offensive means and exhibited no aggression.

They opened their eyes, and their dark, innocent, and bewildered gazes made Su Mu chuckle.

Without hesitation, he condensed six drops of life essence and fed them to the two silkworms.

The two silkworms became visibly happier and absorbed the life essence without any guard.

While merging with the life essence, their chubby bodies rolled around playfully inside the ice jade box.

Su Mu immediately understood why the Nanzhao royal family had kept them sealed in the ice jade box.

Although the two silkworms appeared extraordinary, they seemed utterly useless on the surface.

If Su Mu hadn’t had the status panel, he might have also dismissed them as worthless.

Once the two Void Land Silkworms absorbed the life essence, Su Mu’s perception of them deepened.

He quickly grasped the purpose of their spatial power.

The spatial power of the Void Land Silkworms could only be activated by merging them with the land.

After they fused with the land, they could enable spatial transmission.

Even with Su Mu’s current level of cultivation, he couldn’t help but feel his heart race upon learning this ability.

For a long time, Su Mu, bound by his form as a tree, had been confined to the Misty Forbidden Zone, unable to move and unable to exert influence beyond its borders.

But with these two Void Land Silkworms, the situation would undoubtedly change.

“However, they do have significant limitations,” Su Mu thought to himself. “The two Void Land Silkworms, one male and one female can only connect two places through the land where they are merged. This connection is fixed between these two points.”

Therefore, Su Mu had to choose the location carefully.

Once chosen, it couldn’t be easily changed in the short term.

Su Mu soon thought of Nanzhao.

Beyond the two treasures and the Void Land Silkworms, the most critical outcome of the Nanzhao war for Su Mu was gaining control over the Meng River.

In his eyes, the value of the Meng River exceeded the entire territory of Nanzhao.

This was because the Meng River connected to the Nanzhao Bay.

In this world, land only accounted for one-fifth of the total area.

The remaining four-fifths were oceans.

Great Xia had the Eastern Sea and the Southern Sea, part of the Purple Star Ocean.

Meanwhile, Nanzhao Bay belonged to the Purple Star Ocean.

Nanzhao Bay alone covered an area of over two million square miles, or approximately eighty thousand square miles in all directions.

The Purple Star Ocean was even more vast, spanning over seventy million square miles, which equated to about one hundred forty thousand square miles in all directions.

The size of the Misty Forbidden Zone paled in comparison.

Thus, if Su Mu wanted to develop further, the best avenue was undoubtedly to venture into the ocean.

Fortunately, Nanzhao was not a large country.

From Southern Mountain City to the mouth of the Meng River was only about 1,200 miles.

This was the shortest distance from the Misty Forbidden Zone to the ocean.

Entering the sea from any other location would require traversing at least 100,000 miles, across the entire Great Xia Empire, which was unrealistic.

This was why Su Mu had refrained from letting the Mist Army occupy Nanzhao.

Because he needed the Mist Army to explore Nanzhao Bay for him.

With this in mind, Su Mu’s spirit moved.

Buzz!

The mist extended south along the Meng River.

Su Mu’s spiritual sense extended along with it.

Finally, the landscape before him opened up.

For the first time since arriving in this world, Su Mu reached the sea.

As his spiritual sense swept across, he saw an endless expanse before him.

His heart swelled with excitement.

“Quickly familiarize yourself with the situation in the sea,” Su Mu instructed the Sea Monk and the Mermaid.

They would be the main forces in this new endeavor into the ocean.

“Understood,” they replied as they leaped into the sea.

Su Mu began to survey the nearby coastline.

“This place looks good,” he mused with satisfaction.

He decided that this would be the point for the spatial connection.

From now on, the core of the Misty Forbidden Zone would be directly linked to this place.

And with this, he could easily extend his influence into the ocean.
