“What is that?”

The soldiers on Meng’an City’s western wall were filled with terror.

“The Sea Monk!”

“It’s the Sea Monk!”

“Damn it, how could such a sea monster appear here?”

The defenders were on the verge of panic.

Roar!

The Sea Monk bellowed toward the sky.

Immediately afterward, it stirred up a massive wave, unleashing a torrential flood that surged toward Meng’an City, flooding it.

At this moment.

The Mist Army, too, welcomed their reinforcements.

The leaders of these reinforcements were the Water Buffalo, the Snow Spirit Mink, and the Sea Monk.

Their power was clearly far greater than that of the Ironback Ape, Earthquake Bear, and White Spirit Python from before.

Even with reinforcements, Meng’an City could not withstand this force.

On the walls of Meng’an City.

Seeing signs of collapse appearing once again in the army, Chen Guodong could no longer accept the situation.

“No, how could this happen?”

For the first time, fear appeared in the eyes of this Great General of Nanzhao Kingdom.

Only now did he truly understand the weight of the words “Misty Forbidden Zone.”

Boom!

A deafening explosion.

The northern wall of Meng’an City completely collapsed.

The beast horde poured into Meng’an City.

The scene that Beiding City had experienced played out again in Meng’an City.

This time, the Nanzhao soldiers in Meng’an City were indeed more numerous.

But the scale of the beast horde was even more massive.

Many Nanzhao military leaders, seeing the situation turning dire, began to retreat with their troops.

One hour later, Meng’an City fell.

Amid the crowd of defeated soldiers fleeing Meng’an City, a shadowy man mingled.

“The Misty Forbidden Zone is too terrifying,” he muttered, his heart still palpitating with fear. “Fortunately, over in Taihe City, Lord Bai and the others are about to succeed. I can head over there to join them.”

Immediately, he dashed toward Taihe City.

He failed to notice a purple-gold mosquito trailing behind him.

Even though this mosquito was quite unusual, there were too many mosquitoes in the wilderness.

The shadowy man wouldn’t concern himself with a mere mosquito.

The Purple-Gold Mosquito followed the shadowy man all the way to a small town outside Taihe City, the capital of Nanzhao.

In this town, it sensed the presence of an exotic spirit wolf.

Whoosh!

A Shadow Beetle appeared beside the Purple-Gold Mosquito.

It, too, was small in size and not very conspicuous.

“Go, inform Sister Su Yao,” the Purple-Gold Mosquito instructed the Shadow Beetle.

Without hesitation, the Shadow Beetle flew back along the path.

Two hours later.

The Shadow Beetle returned.

Following behind it were two figures, the Mermaid and Bai Qianzhang.

Even among the elites of the Misty Forbidden Zone, these two were considered formidable.

They quickly spotted the Purple-Gold Mosquito perched on the roof of an ordinary-looking three-story building.

From the outside, the building seemed nothing special.

But as the Mermaid and Bai Qianzhang approached the entrance, the people inside the building became extremely hostile.

“This is private property; no unauthorized personnel allowed!” someone inside the building shouted.

Their accent clearly did not belong to Nanzhao Kingdom.

The Mermaid and Bai Qianzhang did not waste time with words and directly attacked.

“Enemy attack!”

The people inside the building shouted immediately.

Then, figures clad in hunting attire rushed out, attacking Su Yao, the Mermaid, and Bai Qianzhang.

These individuals were all quite powerful, with unpredictable movements, appearing and disappearing mysteriously.

However, in front of the Mermaid and Bai Qianzhang, their strength was insignificant.

The Mermaid condensed a water sword.

Each slash of the sword claimed a head.

Bai Qianzhang’s hair was equally lethal.

The two of them swept through the building.

Soon, they fought their way to the depths of the building, discovering an entrance to an underground tunnel.

The scent of the exotic spirit wolf emanated from within.

The people in the tunnel were aware of the threat posed by the two.

“These are two Nascent Soul cultivators.”

“Damn it, how could such beings suddenly appear?”

“They are likely from the Misty Forbidden Zone. Quick, one group block them here, while another group takes the Heavenly Wolf and flees.”

Shouts echoed throughout the tunnel.

Their eyes were filled with terror as they gazed at the two figures above.

Yet, these people were no ordinary foes.

The front line, knowing how dangerous the two were, showed no signs of retreat.

They fought desperately to buy time for those behind them.

“Ma Jiu, take the Heavenly Wolf,” commanded an elderly man in hunting attire.

Ma Jiu was precisely the shadowy man.

At this moment, his face was pale, but he nodded cautiously without delay.

“Go!”

Immediately, he led a group to retreat.

The elderly man in hunting attire wore a resolute expression, looking at the two figures who had fought their way down.

“How dare you offend the Misty Forbidden Zone. I don’t know where you get your courage,” Bai Qianzhang sneered.

The Mermaid’s beautiful eyes also held confusion.

She, too, could not understand the thoughts of these people before her.

In her view, the Misty Forbidden Zone was even harder to provoke than the Great Xia Empire.

Yet, these people seemed afraid to offend even the Great Xia Empire, so where did they get the courage to provoke the Misty Forbidden Zone?

“You are not human!”

The old man in hunting attire’s expression changed.

After getting a closer look, he realized that the two figures on the opposite side looked human but were not human at all.

The lower half of the woman’s body, beneath her skirt, was actually that of a fish.

And when the white-haired old man was cut open by a sharp weapon, there was not a single drop of blood.

Bai Qianzhang and the Mermaid both frowned.

Even though they held the upper hand, another group of these people had already fled with the spirit wolf.

And they were still being held up by the elderly man and his group.

“Hahaha.”

Blood trickling from his lips, the elderly man laughed wildly, “No matter how strong you are, you will never stop the resurrection of the Heavenly Wolf. Once the Heavenly Wolf is reborn, what awaits you will be utter destruction. For the Heavenly Wolf, for the Ancient Tomb Empire, kill!”

These people all looked frenzied, charging at the Mermaid and Bai Qianzhang in a suicidal attempt to delay them further.

“So, you’re from the Ancient Tomb Empire,” the Mermaid and Bai Qianzhang murmured coldly, yet they did not act hastily.

Not far away, the Purple-Gold Mosquito had quietly caught up with the escaping cultivators of the Ancient Tomb Empire.

These cultivators could not escape.

Eight hundred miles away.

In a forest.

“Elder.”

Hundreds of figures gathered before Luo Jiannan.

“You’ve arrived, excellent!”

Luo Jiannan said excitedly.

These hundreds of cultivators were half from the Divine Machine Pavilion and half from the Heaven and Earth Pavilion.

Each of them was a seasoned warrior with extraordinary cultivation.

Despite their numbers, their strength was comparable to that of an army of ten thousand.

With their arrival, he finally had some leverage within the Nanzhao Kingdom.

Then he looked at a woman among them, his smile deepening, “Commander Su, I didn’t expect you to personally lead the team to support me.”

The leader of the Heaven and Earth Pavilion cultivators was none other than Su Yao, the Vice Pavilion Master, and Deputy Prime Minister.

She was a rising star in the Empire.

Thus, Luo Jiannan was eager to establish a good relationship with her.

“Su Yao greets Elder Luo,” Su Yao replied politely.

As the two spoke, a cultivator from the Divine Machine Pavilion said, “Elder, both the Ancient Tomb Empire and Nanzhao Kingdom have sent us messages. They report that mysterious individuals have attacked Fudian Town, and the Ancient Tomb Empire’s base there has suffered heavy losses.

Now, half of the Ancient Tomb Empire’s forces are fighting desperately but cannot hold on; the other half are fleeing with the Heavenly Wolf of the Misty Forbidden Zone.

They are escaping in our direction, and both nations are asking us for help.”

“Interesting,” Luo Jiannan chuckled, “The Ancient Tomb Empire and Nanzhao Kingdom think they are acting in secret, but they can’t hide from me. They captured the Heavenly Wolf of the Misty Forbidden Zone to resurrect the Heavenly Wolf of the Ancient Tomb Empire, which possesses a mysterious blessing power that can extend life. Let’s go and assist them so that if the Ancient Tomb Empire succeeds, we can claim a share of the rewards.”

Instantly, hundreds of reinforcements from Great Xia marched toward Fudian Town.

As the fugitives from the Ancient Tomb Empire fled towards them, they set out simultaneously.

The two sides were bound to meet sooner.

And so they did.

An hour later.

They encountered the fleeing cultivators of the Ancient Tomb Empire.

To the surprise of the Great Xia forces, they were being chased by only two pursuers.

A woman and an old man.

And yet, these two were forcing dozens of cultivators of the Ancient Tomb Empire to flee for their lives.

Luo Jiannan wasn’t concerned about the lives of these Ancient Tomb Empire cultivators.

He scanned the scene and frowned.

“Are you the reinforcements from the Great Xia Empire?” an Ancient Tomb Empire cultivator asked.

“Indeed,” Luo Jiannan replied.

“We’re just a decoy to draw out the monsters from the Misty Forbidden Zone. Lord Ma Jiu has already fled with the Heavenly Wolf and a few trusted followers toward the northwest,” the Ancient Tomb Empire cultivator explained.

Luo Jiannan’s eyes gleamed with understanding.

He was a decisive person, and without hesitation, he ordered, “We will split into two groups: one group will stay here to intercept the monsters from the Misty Forbidden Zone, while the other group will pursue Ma Jiu.”

As he spoke, he glanced at Su Yao.

Su Yao promptly responded, “Elder Luo, I will lead the group to pursue Ma Jiu.”

“Good,” Luo Jiannan nodded.

He trusted Su Yao greatly. She was a rising star even highly regarded within the capital of the Great Xia Empire.

A hundred miles away.

Ma Jiu’s face was filled with panic.

The other cultivators from the Ancient Tomb Empire around him were equally distressed.

None of them had expected that a mosquito and a beetle could be so formidable.

Despite being dozens in number, they couldn’t defeat two insects!

“I must not die. I have to hold on until the Heavenly Wolf is resurrected,” Ma Jiu gritted his teeth.

Before he could finish speaking, he seemed to sense something.

Not far ahead, a stunning woman appeared.

The moment Ma Jiu saw her, his eyes lit up.

He recognized this woman.

She was Su Yao, a rising star of the Great Xia Empire.

And not long ago, he had sent a request for reinforcements to the Great Xia Empire.

The support had arrived.

“Miss Su Yao, please save us! The mosquito and the beetle behind us are monsters from the Misty Forbidden Zone!” he shouted excitedly at Su Yao.
