At the Violet Sun Sect, Sun Zhengping’s face turned deathly pale. Up until now, he had no idea what had just happened—only that three Golden Core experts from Mount Longhu had died without warning.

At this moment, he truly felt the overwhelming, mysterious power coming from the Misty Forbidden Zone. Although he couldn’t understand how the three experts had died, it was undoubtedly related to the Misty Forbidden Zone.

It was terrifying.

The Misty Forbidden Zone was eight hundred miles away, yet it could still cause the deaths of three Golden Core experts from Mount Longhu without a sound. This was a power akin to that of a god!

Sun Zhengping couldn’t help but feel regret. When the Violet Sun Sect initially tried to recruit him, he refused. But later, the Violet Sun Sect had told him that Mount Longhu and eight other major forces were planning to join together to deal with the Misty Forbidden Zone. The reputation of these nine major forces was so immense that Sun Zhengping believed the Misty Forbidden Zone wouldn’t be able to withstand them.

Now, however, he was beginning to question whether the Misty Forbidden Zone was really so vulnerable.

Regardless of whether the Misty Forbidden Zone could withstand the attack, Sun Zhengping and the Violet Sun Sect were now facing a dire situation.

The high-ranking members of the Violet Sun Sect were equally shocked, as if struck by lightning. They too had no idea how the three Golden Core cultivators had died. As a result, they dared not make any sudden moves, fearing they might meet the same fate.

Su Luo looked at these enemies. In the current situation, she could easily wipe them out. After all, the enemy’s morale had crumbled, and she still had the assistance of the two divine crows.

But as she thought of Su Yao and the Misty Forbidden Zone, Su Luo changed her mind. If it were Su Yao, Su Luo believed she would certainly kill these people. However, if she followed the same path as Su Yao, she would never catch up to her. Her contributions to the Misty Forbidden Zone would also never compare to Su Yao’s.

With that in mind, Su Luo knew she had to take a different path.

‘Senior Sister Su Yao,’ Su Luo thought to herself, ‘You may be the sword of the Divine Tree, but I will be the net.’

To be a net, one must have the courage of a net! The sword needs the momentum to move forward, while the net must have the breadth to encompass everything.

Su Luo turned to the people before her and said, “Do you want to live or die?”

“Can we still live?” they asked in disbelief.

“Look at those three,” Su Luo said, pointing to the dead Golden Core cultivators. “They should serve as a warning. If you want to live, go back and tell those who sent you that you have successfully taken control of the Azure Cloud Hall. Continue to participate in their plans, but secretly relay their plans to me.”

The group was taken aback.

She was asking them to act as spies within the Nine Great Forces’ alliance. If they were caught and the Misty Forbidden Zone couldn’t hold against the alliance, their fate would be grim.

But they had no choice. If they didn’t agree, they would die now. Besides, their thoughts had changed. The mysterious deaths of the three Golden Core cultivators had left them with a sense of dread and a newfound, inexplicable confidence in the Misty Forbidden Zone.

“Alright,” they finally agreed.

Just then, Su Luo suddenly thrust her sword, piercing Sun Zhengping’s throat.

Sun Zhengping stared at Su Luo in shock as he collapsed.

The others watched in horror.

“Others can live; you cannot,” Su Luo said calmly.

The message was clear: while the rest were not part of the Misty Forbidden Zone or the Su family, and thus had a chance to live, Sun Zhengping was a traitor. Su Luo was warning them that any future betrayal would be met with the same fate.

Even the sharp-featured woman, who had been most resistant to Su Luo, now felt a deep respect for her.

“From now on, you will maintain the appearance of control over the Violet Sun Sect,” Su Luo instructed. “But in truth, I will be the one in charge from the shadows.”

In the Misty Forbidden Zone, Su Mu had advanced to the fifth tier. Under normal circumstances, this would have caused a spectacular phenomenon. However, Su Mu had enough control to conceal the signs of his breakthrough.

The power he had displayed at the fourth tier was already enough to intimidate the world. There was no need to reveal even greater strength.

Outside the Misty Forbidden Zone, the creatures noticed the fog growing thicker, completely obscuring their vision and spiritual senses. Meanwhile, the sky opened up with a torrential downpour, and the closer to the core of the Misty Forbidden Zone, the heavier the rain.

By the time the rain reached Su City, it was a moderate downpour, yet even this was heavier than the previous spiritual rain. As the creatures realized that this was indeed spiritual rain, they erupted in joy. Countless beings rushed out to bask in the rain, celebrating the bounty it brought.

For the Misty Forbidden Zone and its surrounding areas, this was nothing short of a grand feast.

Most creatures didn’t bother questioning why the rain had come. They were simply overjoyed by the blessing of fortune. Those at or above the third tier, however, were deeply shaken. The scale of this spiritual rain suggested an incredible source of power.

They could only speculate that the Divine Tree had grown even stronger, but they couldn’t be certain of its true power.

Only one being knew for sure: Bai Qianzhang.

“Fifth tier!” Bai Qianzhang was utterly astounded. As a fourth-tier upper-grade being, he could discern that Su Mu had indeed reached the fifth tier.

“Beyond the heavens,” Bai Qianzhang whispered in awe. Given the current level of spiritual energy in this world, it was impossible for a fifth-tier being to naturally develop. Su Mu had completely surpassed the limits of this world’s dao.

This meant that Su Mu’s advancement energy didn’t come from the world’s spiritual energy.

“It must be the Earth Spirit Pearl,” Bai Qianzhang deduced, further shocked.

The Earth Spirit Pearl was created by Jue Chenzi, and it contained his seals. That Su Mu had broken through Jue Chenzi’s seals to harness the energy within the Earth Spirit Pearl was truly mind-blowing. Jue Chenzi was a being near the level of a celestial being. If this was true, it confirmed that Su Mu was once either a celestial being or a god.

Either way, Bai Qianzhang was convinced he had made the right choice in siding with Su Mu.

“Only such a being could control the Dragon Vein,” Bai Qianzhang thought, overjoyed. Having staked his fate on Su Mu, Bai Qianzhang realized that the stronger Su Mu became, the better it would be for him.

Reflecting on Su Mu’s power, Bai Qianzhang couldn’t help but think of how, despite his immense strength, Su Mu had remained hidden in the Ancient Wilderness Mountains. Even after taking over Nanjing City as a reprisal for an attack, Su Mu had stopped expanding his territory.

Bai Qianzhang was reminded of an ancient saying: “The sea in the heart, still yet uncontested!”

Perhaps this was the mindset and grandeur of an ancient celestial being.

Meanwhile, Su Mu received word from Su Luo. The high-ranking members of the Violet Sun Sect, having turned to her side, had divulged all they knew about the alliance of the Nine Great Forces led by Mount Longhu.
