As the ministers debated, the Prime Minister suddenly received a message.

“Gentlemen,” he addressed the gathered officials, “His Majesty has just issued a decree. The National Treasures may be deployed, but they are not to be used to destroy cities. Instead, they should be utilized to decimate the beast armies besieging our cities.”

While this approach might not completely annihilate the beast hordes, it would certainly inflict significant damage. And since the order came directly from the Emperor, there was no dissent.

“The most severe situation remains in Qingzhou,” the Imperial Prince remarked. “On one hand, the beast tide there is the largest, and on the other, there is a catastrophe-level entity present. This should be our top priority.”

“I agree,” the newly appointed Grand Seer added. “The previous Grand Seer, Dongfang, disappeared in the Misty Forbidden Zone and is presumed dead. We have yet to settle this score with the Misty Forbidden Zone, which has now gone so far as to demand that we hand over the Grand Seer’s deputy, Fang Zhaodong. Their arrogance is intolerable.”

“Hmph! I think you’re all incompetent!” the Prince of the South sneered. “The abomination in the Misty Forbidden Zone has repeatedly provoked and challenged the Empire, yet you’ve done nothing but swallow your pride, bringing shame upon the Empire. In my view, such a monster cannot be allowed to exist.”

“What do you propose, Your Highness?” the Prime Minister asked, turning to the Prince of the South.

“This great calamity has befallen us, and since the Empire has decided to deploy the National Treasures, we should seize this opportunity to eliminate this threat to the Empire,” the Prince of the South declared. “If one treasure is not enough, then use two. I refuse to believe that this monster cannot be destroyed.”

The Prime Minister frowned. “Your Highness, the Misty Forbidden Zone is located in the Ancient Wilderness Mountains, an area with very complex terrain. If we use too many treasures to attack, it could trigger a greater disaster, potentially affecting nearby towns and citizens.”

“A temporary disaster is better than a long-term threat to the Empire,” the Prince of the South retorted coldly. “If we do not eradicate this monster, it will remain a serious threat to the Empire for years to come.”

“But—” the Prime Minister began.

“I support this,” the Imperial Prince interjected.

“So do I,” the Grand Seer added.

With the Prince of the South, the Imperial Prince, and the Grand Seer all in agreement, the other officials hesitated briefly before also voicing their support. Seeing this, the Prime Minister could only agree reluctantly.

Misty Forbidden Zone.

“160,000 of lifespan,” Su Mu felt a wave of joy surge within him.

The rewards from the end of this second cycle of spiritual energy renewal were even greater than at the beginning. He had gained an astonishing 160,000 years of lifespan.

“Time to upgrade the Earth Fiend Transformation,” Su Mu decided, focusing on fortifying his defenses.

“Earth Fiend Transformation, upgrade,” he commanded.

In an instant, 150,000 years of lifespan energy vanished. When the Earth Fiend Transformation ascended from the sixth to the seventh tier, Su Mu caused a spiritual rain to fall across the Misty Forbidden Zone, just as he had when it ascended from the fifth to the sixth tier.

This was a double blessing for the creatures of the Misty Forbidden Zone. The combination of underground spiritual energy eruptions and spiritual rain made it almost impossible for them not to grow stronger.

Meanwhile, Su Mu’s height increased to 880 feet. His main root extended from 8,000 feet to 11,000 feet deep, and the secondary roots and rootlets reached a depth of 23,000 feet. Although this growth might seem less significant than the last time, the enhancement to his defensive power was actually even more remarkable.

Moreover, this latest upgrade brought Su Mu to a breakthrough in his grade, ascending from the upper-grade fourth-tier to the supreme-grade fourth tier. This further advancement led to another boost in his power. His height increased, his main root extended to 15,000 feet, and his secondary roots and rootlets reached a depth of 28,000 feet.

[Species: Spirit Ginkgo Tree]

[Height: 880 feet]

[Lifespan: 11,000 years]

[Rank: Fourth-Tier, Supreme Grade]

[Abilities: Innate Talent Duplication, Life Essence Condensation, Heaven and Human Induction, Seventh-tier Earth Fiend Transformation, Eighth-tier Power of Mist, Seventh-tier Earth Force, Seventh-tier Phantom Snow Eye, Seventh-tier Sword Mastery, Seventh-tier Water Breathing, Fifth-tier Metal Splitting Power, Fifth-tier Heart of Faith, Fourth-tier Heart Peering, Fourth-tier Bloodsucking Power]

In addition to Su Mu’s growth, his subordinates also experienced significant increases in their power. However, before he could check on them, Su Mu suddenly sensed something alarming.

At the same time, in the Green Hills Mansion, a mysterious shipment of boxes arrived under heavy military escort. The Prince of the South himself led the escort.

The first box was opened to reveal a dark red spear with the words “Sky Mang” inscribed on it. This was the Sky Mang Spear, which the Prince of the South had brought from Taikang City. Without hesitation, the Prince ordered his followers to activate the Sky Mang Spear.

The spear soared into the sky and then hurtled towards the beast army outside Nanjing City.

Boom!

The ground shook violently as an unknown number of beasts were annihilated.

Misty Forbidden Zone.

Su Mu immediately sensed the destructive energy emanating from the spear.

“A National Treasure?” Su Mu focused his consciousness on the direction of Nanjing City. The city, which had been on the brink of collapse, was saved by the terrifying power of the Sky Mang Spear, which wiped out tens of thousands of beasts. Though Nanjing City had not fully escaped danger, it was now much safer.

Su Mu had anticipated that the Great Xia Empire might deploy a National Treasure in such a crisis, so this development did not surprise him. However, as he pondered the situation, a sudden, intense foreboding gripped him—a feeling he had experienced before, just before the Qingzhou Sword had attacked.

Realizing that the Empire was once again targeting him with a National Treasure, Su Mu wasted no time. He immediately ordered his subordinates, “Retreat to the underground world!”

Without question, his subordinates swiftly retreated underground, significantly reducing Su Mu’s burden. As he refocused his attention on the sky, a wave of murderous intent surged within him. The Great Xia Empire had dared to attack him again!

It seemed his previous retaliation had been too lenient, failing to instill the necessary fear in the Empire. This time, Su Mu decided to strike back before the treasure could even reach him.

With a thought, a single leaf fell from his branches.

Seventh-Tier Sword Mastery!

Whoosh!

In an instant, the leaf shot towards the sky at a speed that defied the eye. Moments later, it collided with the descending Sky Mang Spear.

Boom!

A destructive storm of energy erupted in the sky, forming a cloud of destruction with a diameter of ten thousand feet. Although the leaf did not stop the spear, it slowed its descent. Unfazed, Su Mu sent out two more leaves, and this time, the spear came to a complete stop. Finally, a third leaf was released, and the Sky Mang Spear was sent flying away.

Back in Green Hills Mansion, the Prince of the South had been monitoring the scene through the Seven Star Array. Seeing Su Mu repel the Sky Mang Spear, he was neither surprised nor panicked. After all, the abomination in the Misty Forbidden Zone had already withstood the Qingzhou Sword.

But if that monster thought this time would be as easy, it was sorely mistaken.

The Prince of the South opened a second box, revealing a golden seal.

This was the Kongtong Seal, ranked third among the National Treasures of the Great Xia Empire, its power far exceeding that of the Qingzhou Sword and the Sky Mang Spear.

He was confident that the abomination in the Misty Forbidden Zone would soon know the true meaning of terror and despair, and would regret its arrogance.

In the next instant, an unimaginable wave of destructive energy descended upon the Misty Forbidden Zone. Countless beings witnessed a massive seal appear in the sky, blotting out the sun. It was as if the sun itself was falling from the sky.

For the first time, the mists of the Misty Forbidden Zone could not withstand the overwhelming force. The sky above seemed to be shattered by a massive impact, leaving a pit ten thousand feet in diameter. Then, like a falling sun, the Kongtong Seal plummeted towards the center of the Misty Forbidden Zone.

Sssshhh!

In an instant, countless trees were reduced to ashes. The waters of Misty Lake evaporated by more than half, and countless fish perished. The destructive shockwave swept across over a hundred miles, reaching even the distant Su City at the edge of the Ancient Wilderness Mountains. In Su City, the windows and doors of many homes were shattered by the air pressure alone.

If Su City was affected this much, the devastation within the Misty Forbidden Zone itself must have been far worse. A mushroom cloud rose to a height of ten thousand feet, and all who witnessed it saw the core of the Misty Forbidden Zone completely engulfed.

“Yes! Yes! Yes!”

In Green Hills Mansion, the Great Xia Empire’s cultivators erupted in cheers. The Kongtong Seal had struck the Misty Forbidden Zone with devastating force. The core of the Misty Forbidden Zone seemed to have been obliterated. With such overwhelming power, they believed that even a city with a population of a million would have been wiped out.

No one believed that the Misty Forbidden Zone could have survived.

“Hmph, what abomination dares challenge the Great Xia Empire!” the Prince of the South sneered, his eyes filled with disdain.

This operation was a clear demonstration of power. With the destruction of the Misty Forbidden Zone, the Prince was confident that other forbidden zones across the world would take heed and refrain from challenging the Empire’s authority.

“Something’s not right…”

Suddenly, a cultivator exclaimed.

“What’s wrong?” the others asked, irritated by the interruption.

“Look… look at that…” the trembling cultivator pointed at the image projected by the Seven Star Array.

The others followed his gaze, and what they saw made their blood run cold.

As the mushroom cloud dissipated, the scene within the Misty Forbidden Zone was revealed once more. Contrary to their expectations of a wasteland, they saw a massive tree.

For the first time, they beheld the true form of the abomination in the Misty Forbidden Zone.

While they had previously seen only a shadow of it in the sky, this time they were confronted with the full majesty of the Silver Ginkgo Tree.

What kind of tree was this?

The onlookers were awestruck by its grandeur. The tree stood nearly 900 feet tall, with a trunk as solid as bronze and leaves as jade. Surrounding it, the mists rapidly coalesced into a massive cloud dragon, thousands of feet long, encircling the tree and elevating it beyond the realm of mortals.

Those who had previously called it a monster found themselves at a loss for words. Its appearance was more akin to that of a celestial tree than a monstrous being.

But the most shocking revelation was that the Silver Ginkgo Tree bore no scars. Even the earth around it remained untouched.

This could only mean one thing—a terrifying realization for those watching: the Silver Ginkgo Tree had withstood the Kongtong Seal.
