“The Qingzhou Sword.”

“It’s the Qingzhou Sword.”

The elderly voices trembled as they spoke.

“Green Hills Mansion has activated the Qingzhou Sword. Judging by the situation, it’s aimed at the Misty Forbidden Zone.”

Countless cultivators from various factions were astounded. The speed of the Qingzhou Sword was incredibly fast. In just a few breaths, they saw a green light appearing on the distant horizon, illuminating half the sky.

Soon after, the sky was ablaze with raging flames, a sign of the intense friction in the air as the sword tore through it.

“It really is the Qingzhou Sword,” confirmed the elders who had witnessed a similar scene eighty years ago.

In the sky ahead, the green light shone brightly. Cultivators with sharp vision could see that at the forefront of the green light was a three-foot-long sword, with a long trail of flames extending behind it. It was as if an endless green fire dragon was soaring through the sky, sending shockwaves that pressed down from above, causing trees to sway, sand and stones to fly, and countless birds and beasts to scatter in fear.

When the “green fire dragon” arrived over Su City, market stalls were blown away, pedestrians struggled to walk as their clothes billowed wildly, and the doors and windows of shops rattled, with some even being torn off their hinges. The faces of countless cultivators in Su City turned pale.

While the Misty Forbidden Zone was known for its formidable reputation, the Qingzhou Sword was even more terrifying. It was one of the eighteen treasures of Great Xia!

For three thousand years, as long as the treasure was unleashed, there was no problem it couldn’t solve. Many believed that the Misty Forbidden Zone wouldn’t be able to withstand it.

However, Su City’s existence depended on the resources from the Misty Forbidden Zone. If the zone were destroyed, Su City would suffer catastrophic damage, and countless people would lose their livelihoods. Yet, there was nothing they could do to change the situation—the Qingzhou Sword had already arrived.

In the Misty Forbidden Zone, for the first time, the mist in the sky was blown away, revealing the true appearance of the zone, especially the inner regions. Endless towering trees, various beasts, and strange plants were all exposed. The Sui River, the Misty Lake… all were now in plain view. However, the mist in the core area of the zone remained impenetrable, keeping its deepest secrets hidden. Still, the scenes that were revealed left the world in shock.

The banks of the Sui River were teeming with birds and beasts, and even more gathered around the Misty Lake. People realized just how terrifying the inner regions of the Misty Forbidden Zone truly were.

While the outer regions were filled with beasts, the inner regions were an entire kingdom of monsters. Under the destructive storm in the sky, vast areas of trees were severed, and many birds fell, bleeding to death. For the first time, the Misty Forbidden Zone suffered significant damage due to external forces.

The beasts within the zone felt fear. Could it be that even the Misty Forbidden Zone could not withstand the ultimate weapon of the human race?

As the beasts of the Misty Forbidden Zone looked on in panic, the green sword arrived above the core of the zone, hovering at a height of three thousand feet, then descending to two thousand, one thousand, and finally five hundred feet. The closer it got to the core of the zone, the more terrifying the storm pressure became. Yet, no matter how powerful the storm, it could never fully disperse the mist in the core area of the zone.

Finally, when the green sword was only three hundred feet above the core area, everyone saw a ginkgo tree branch emerge from the mist. In the stunned gazes of countless humans and beasts, the branch lashed out at the overwhelmingly powerful green sword.

The branch and the Qingzhou Sword collided. Many beings had already guessed that the branch belonged to the ancient ginkgo tree at the core of the Misty Forbidden Zone, a legendary existence. Although most had never seen the ancient ginkgo tree, the celestial phenomena that occurred when it first appeared had projected its shadow on the clouds for all to see. Thus, the tree’s existence was no secret.

But could a single branch stop the Qingzhou Sword? Countless beings, both human and beast, thought that the entity at the core of the Misty Forbidden Zone might be overestimating itself. They believed that even if the ancient tree’s main body fully exerted itself, it would likely be unable to withstand the Qingzhou Sword. Using just a branch seemed like a hopeless effort.

But then…

Countless beings’ pupils contracted. The Qingzhou Sword halted. And not only did it stop!

BOOM!

A deafening explosion, loud enough to be heard a hundred miles away, echoed like a thunderclap from the heavens. It was the sound of the ginkgo branch colliding with the Qingzhou Sword. Then, to the disbelief of all, the green light emitted by the Qingzhou Sword was shattered, and the flames trailing behind it were extinguished.

CLANG!

The Qingzhou Sword was struck and sent flying by the ginkgo branch. The branch then wrapped around the Qingzhou Sword, pulling it into the mist, where it vanished completely. The rolling mist surged back, quickly covering the entire Misty Forbidden Zone once more, restoring it to its usual tranquility as if nothing had happened.

The shock was beyond words. Countless beings who witnessed the event were utterly astonished. For the first time in three thousand years, a living entity had directly resisted the devastating power of one of Great Xia’s treasures. Not only that, but the entity had also done so without much effort, even taking the Qingzhou Sword with it.

One of Great Xia’s eighteen national treasures was now lost. Only at this moment did people fully realize the terrifying power of the forbidden existence within the Misty Forbidden Zone. The strength of this forbidden entity far exceeded what the world had imagined.

No one knew if there were other, even stronger forbidden entities out there. After all, many of the world’s dominant beings had never revealed themselves, much like the ancient ginkgo tree before this incident. If Green Hills Mansion hadn’t used the Qingzhou Sword, no one would have seen the ginkgo tree take action.

But now that it had, it completely shattered the world’s understanding, shaking everyone to their core. It turned out that Great Xia’s national treasures were not invincible and could indeed be countered. The sense of fear and panic spread among humans, especially the citizens of Great Xia.

In the past, the people of Great Xia remained calm in the face of chaos, believing that no matter how tumultuous the world became, the national treasures of the human race could annihilate any threat. But now, one of these treasures had been stopped by the forbidden master of the Misty Forbidden Zone. This meant that humanity’s ultimate reliance was no longer as dependable as they had believed.

At the same time, countless beasts across the world rejoiced. For three thousand years, the beasts of the world had been oppressed by the human race, unable to breathe freely. Even though a year had passed since the rise of spiritual energy, the beasts still lacked the confidence to face the human race. This was largely because they believed they couldn’t resist the human race’s national treasures.

But now, things were different. The beasts had discovered that there were beings among them capable of stopping the humans’ national treasures. Perhaps the era of beasts being utterly suppressed by humans was coming to an end. In the future, beasts might stand on equal footing with humans. Some beasts, harboring deep hatred for the human race, even dreamed of a time when they could overpower and enslave humans, making them experience what it was like to be domesticated, slaughtered, and treated as mere food.

Meanwhile, wise beings realized that although the Qingzhou Sword’s attack had been thwarted and the situation seemed to have settled down, the matter was far from over. In fact, this event might just be the beginning.
