Luo Ning gazed intently at the man before him, his long and thick eyelashes trembling slightly. Suddenly, he tugged at the man’s robe, pushing him onto the bed. Their bodies pressed tightly together, his long hair cascading down.

His fair fingers parted the robe, revealing the beautifully curved shoulders beneath the red gauze. The air seemed to heat up. Luo Ning lowered his eyes, his fingers tracing the man’s face with fervent affection. He said in a sweet voice, “Your Highness, take me.”

It was an enticing invitation.

Ye Xingzhou’s heart raced, his gaze darkening. Every movement of this person was filled with temptation, and when their eyes met, it felt as if he was being drawn into a whirlpool.

He quickly turned his head away. His large hand gripped the wandering small hand on his face, then pushed it away forcefully. He drew the gauze curtains closed, remaining indifferent, his face cold as he said in a low voice, “No need.”

With that, he left the warmth of the room without hesitation. The atmosphere gradually grew cold. The originally vibrant beauty tightened his grip on the curtains, and the light in his eyes dimmed instantly.

The director immediately laughed, nodding in satisfaction. “Not bad, not bad. Xiao Luo, you performed wonderfully. You nailed it in one take.”

The director was amazed. Previously, Luo Ning had only been able to serve as a pretty face, stumbling over his lines and expressing emotions by simply shouting. Yet in such a short time, how had his performance become so spirited? He conveyed a different meaning to the character, appearing malicious yet evoking sympathy.

“How did you improve so much? Did you pay for classes?”

Luo Ning casually replied, “No, I just suddenly had an epiphany.”

The director didn’t press further. It was true that some people in the industry had moments of inspiration. One day they might have a sudden epiphany and gain insights into a certain role. Luo Ning’s rapid improvement in acting skills was an unexpected surprise to the director. Today’s performance had not been overshadowed by Ye Xingzhou, which truly showed his genuine talent. The director’s tone softened a bit.

Avoiding the surrounding whispers, Luo Ning picked up the script and moved to a quieter spot. Under Ye Xingzhou’s probing gaze, he sat beside him and said softly, “Senior, I’m a bit uncertain about the next scene. Could I ask you for some advice?”

The scene was just an excuse. Luo Ning really wanted to strike up a conversation with Ye Xingzhou. As a triple Golden Horse Award winner, Ye Xingzhou surely had a different understanding of acting.

Ye Xingzhou’s expression softened. He loved acting and admired capable people. In the past, Luo Ning was worthless in his eyes, but now he had changed his mind. For someone with genuine talent, his attitude was less sharp.

Lifting his eyelids, he replied calmly, “Which part?”

Luo Ning immediately stepped forward and pointed to a line. “It’s right here. I feel the dialogue is a bit off. We could try rephrasing it.”

He was very close to Ye Xingzhou, his body carrying a faint pleasant scent, his eyes shining as he looked at Ye Xingzhou, his face inadvertently leaning closer.

Ye Xingzhou’s nostrils twitched as he caught a whiff of an unfamiliar fragrance. He frowned and leaned back slightly. He coldly extended his finger to poke Luo Ning’s forehead. “Stay away from me.”

Luo Ning patted his hair, feeling quite wronged as he moved away, resembling a kitten trying to express friendliness with its paws only to be pushed away, his expression downcast.

A slight smile tugged at Ye Xingzhou’s lips. Realizing something, his face instantly stiffened. He had actually let the person he found most annoying get close and even felt strangely pleased about it—how strange.

As they discussed the scene, an inexplicable atmosphere surrounded them. Jian Xi’s eyes darkened not far away.

Although he didn’t love Ye Xingzhou, the latter was his idol in the industry. Seeing Ye Xingzhou express affection for him while sitting with someone he loathed was confusing.

Jian Xi felt a surge of irritation, a hint of betrayal in his heart. After work, he distanced himself from Ye Xingzhou, climbed into a luxury car, and went to dinner intimately.

By the time they finished filming, it was nearly midnight. There was no time to head home. The director had booked a hotel nearby for the night.

Luo Ning yawned, feeling exhausted today. He fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.

In the following days, he consciously changed his approach to dealing with people, being polite and extremely dedicated. More people in the crew began to treat him kindly.

Although Luo Ning didn’t care much for others’ opinions, it was best for him to get along harmoniously since there were still two months left.

After taking a shower that night, Luo Ning remembered he had a wound on his ankle, but there wasn’t enough time to get medicine.

He thought for a moment and went to a room around the corner and knocked on the door. Ye Xingzhou opened it just a crack, revealing his handsome, sharp features. He asked lightly, “What’s the matter?”

Luo Ning, with his fair and delicate face, smiled obediently. “I have a minor injury and wanted to see if you have any band-aids.”

Ye Xingzhou looked at him suspiciously for a moment, his gaze wary. After all, Luo Ning was wearing a bathrobe, exposing a bit of his fair skin. His hair was still damp, and he carried the fragrance of strawberry shower gel.

Ye Xingzhou was wary of Luo Ning’s intentions. He had encountered some not-so-pure-minded actors knocking on his door before, trying to take advantage of the situation. Seeing Luo Ning in that outfit made him think twice.

However, Luo Ning’s eyes were too clear and devoid of any ambition or ulterior motives. Coupled with his recent good performance, Ye Xingzhou hesitated for a moment before stepping inside the room. “Wait here.”

Through the gap in the door, Luo Ning heard the sound of a television. It turned out to be a movie he had been wanting to watch. He stared at the characters on the screen, his feet unconsciously leading him inside. He smiled with happiness. “Mr. Ye, you’re watching ‘The Sound of the Rumble’? This movie is fantastic. I’ve always wanted to see it. Let’s watch it together.”

Ye Xingzhou paused, his fingers tightening around the band-aid and alcohol wipes. He squinted, his lips pressing into a straight line as he recalled his earlier thoughts. He had only been gone for three minutes, and here Luo Ning was.

Whether he was really interested in the movie or just using it as an excuse to get inside was questionable.

Thinking of this, he refused, “No.”

Luo Ning frowned, his eyes resembling those of a puppy as he looked at him, disappointment clear in his voice. “Why not? I can’t sleep right now. Watching a movie together would be more fun.”

“I promise to keep a low profile… I won’t disturb you.”

“Please?”

Ye Xingzhou’s expression turned even more serious. This tone! Was he actually being coquettish? How unprofessional! He must have ulterior motives.

His suspicions grew stronger, and he became more resolute in his refusal.

Even though Luo Ning had improved recently, he wasn’t his type. He felt a bit frustrated. Clearly, he could act well and had made progress, so why did he have to entertain such improper thoughts? Why not be honest and just focus on improving his skills?

Luo Ning lowered his brows, looking dispirited. His eyes dimmed with visible disappointment. It was clear he felt rejected. He glanced longingly at the movie. It seemed Ye Xingzhou still disliked him, not even allowing him to watch a movie.

He took the band-aid and lifted his foot. His face was fair and delicate, and his toes were glowing faintly. He placed the band-aid over the wound on his calf.

Ye Xingzhou felt a vein throb at his temple, pressing his temple. Sure enough, he shouldn’t have trusted this person.

As Luo Ning raised his leg, the bathrobe opened slightly, revealing a glowing white calf, the fabric barely concealing it. He bent over, presenting a soft curve that seemed almost seductive.

It looked like he was treating a wound, but this behavior made it hard to believe there were no ulterior motives.

It was far too obvious. This kind of seduction was too low-level.

Ye Xingzhou no longer had any doubts. Watching Luo Ning’s hand glide over his calf, he frowned tightly, unable to bear it any longer.

He sighed and stepped forward. He pulled the bathrobe closed around Luo Ning and pushed him out the door, his face stern as he said, “Don’t waste your efforts. Focus on honing your acting skills.”

“Don’t knock on my door at night again.”

With that, he slammed the door shut.

The sound startled Luo Ning, causing his hair to stand on end. He was puzzled as he stared blankly at the closed door.

What did that mean?

He was just tending to his wound. Did Ye Xingzhou find him that bothersome, so eager to kick him out?

And why did those words seem so meaningful?

It was just a band-aid, was the film emperor really that stingy?

Luo Ning couldn’t figure it out. He stared at the door in confusion. Not wanting to dwell on it, he returned to his room.

If he couldn’t watch a movie with Ye Xingzhou, he’d watch one by himself. He didn’t have to tag along.

With a light huff, Luo Ning muttered to himself, then grabbing some potato chips, eagerly turned on the television.

Sitting on the carpet, munching on the chips, he was completely engrossed.

Since he hadn’t seen any of the movies or TV series from this world, everything felt fresh and exciting. He lost track of time.

When he finally turned off the TV, he realized it was already three in the morning.

Luo Ning was shocked. He had scenes to shoot in the morning. He had been performing well lately, receiving praise from the director, who had even added a few more scenes for him.

At this rate, he wouldn’t be able to function tomorrow. Luo Ning hurriedly tossed his potato chips aside, rushed to the bathroom to wash up, and then jumped into bed, pulling the covers over himself to sleep.

The consequence of staying up late was that Luo Ning had a hard time getting up in the morning. Looking in the mirror, he saw two large dark circles under his eyes, which stood out against his fair skin.

Luo Ning grimaced and simply applied some powder.

Rushing to the set, he headed to the makeup room and ran into a familiar makeup artist.

The other person laughed. “What did you do last night? You look like a wilted flower. Those dark circles are so obvious.”

“That’s pretty serious! Your eyes are a bit puffy too.”

As she spoke, there was a hint of envy in her tone. “But being good-looking is a plus. Even with dark circles, you’re still handsome.”

“I guess you’ll just have to put on heavy makeup to cover it up today.”

Luo Ning nodded to show his understanding. He noticed a gaze fixed on him and turned to find Ye Xingzhou looking over. He looked at him in confusion, wondering why Ye Xingzhou was staring at him.

Suddenly remembering his dark circles, he wondered if they really looked that bad. Was Ye Xingzhou laughing at him?

Luo Ning quickly lowered his head to avoid Ye Xingzhou’s gaze.

Ye Xingzhou’s expression grew even more displeased. He felt that Luo Ning was dodging him.
