In the following days, Shen Zhou stayed at home to recover, enjoying delicious food and teasing Luo Ning. He always felt happy when Luo Ning glared at him with shame and anger.
On the surface, he was reading books and playing on the computer, but whenever Luo Ning left, he took care of business matters or occasionally visited the company. His love-struck nephew finally returned from the United States. Upon learning that the car accident hadn’t killed Shen Zhou, he secretly investigated his whereabouts while taking control of the Shen Group as the new CEO.
Shen Zhou didn’t care. He had long since lost interest in the Shen family’s position. But since he dared to scheme against him, there would be a price to pay.
Before leaving, he had set traps in several major projects of the Shen Group, which Shen Mo wouldn’t be able to handle. Shen Zhou planned to watch the Shen Group decline step by step.
…
Luo Ning received his salary and happily checked his balance. He politely declined an invitation to dinner with colleagues that evening, preparing to quit his job soon.
After finishing his work and eagerly waiting for the end of the day, Luo Ning packed his things and prepared to buy some fruit. Just as he stepped into the elevator, the doors opened again, and someone he didn’t want to see walked in—the stupid supervisor, smiling widely.
“Luo Ning, you seem to be in good spirits lately. Since it’s just time to get off work, I know of a new Western restaurant. Shall we try it out?”
The supervisor smiled, his gaze roaming over Luo Ning. He noticed that Luo Ning’s waist seemed to be even slimmer. He swallowed, desire evident in his eyes.
He had hinted at his feelings for Luo Ning for a long time. Seeing him every day stirred something in him. However, Luo Ning played dumb and always gave him a cold shoulder. This left him feeling frustrated. He had played with many boys, but Luo Ning was just not easy to get.
Luo Ning stepped back, retreating to a corner. He said coldly, “No thanks, I need to get home.”
Hearing the refusal, the supervisor felt humiliated. He was unwilling to endure again. He looked at Luo Ning with a smirk and reached out to touch his face, only to have Luo Ning slap his hand away. The supervisor sneered and lowered his head. “Luo Ning, you should know my feelings, right? I’m not interested in playing cat and mouse anymore. If you want to stay here, don’t be so cold.”
“I look good and have a successful career. If you follow me, I’ll definitely treat you well. I really like you.”
Luo Ning frowned, feeling disgusted by the supervisor’s muddy aura. He walked toward the elevator with disdain, not wanting to spend another second with this idiot.
But behind him, the supervisor scoffed, “Don’t be nervous, I really like you.”
As he spoke, he reached out and touched Luo Ning’s waist in an ambiguous way. His palm kept sliding down, lingering dangerously close to his buttocks like a venomous snake slithering by.
“Idiot!” Luo Ning’s eyes widened. He felt so angry. Unable to hold back, he swung a punch at the supervisor, landing a blow that left the man with panda eyes.
“You dare hit me?!”
Luo Ning wasn’t finished. He kicked him as well and smashed his briefcase against him, then stormed out of the elevator.
His face was red with anger, knowing he had utterly offended the other person, but since he was about to resign, he didn’t care.
He hurried out of the company, his eyes slightly red. He couldn’t stand this kind of injustice.
Shen Zhou noticed his face was red with anger, like an apple, as if he had suffered a great injustice. His mouth could hang a pot of oil, and his eyes were round. He asked with a smile, “What’s wrong? Who offended you?”
