Novel Info

Mu Chengfeng drove northward. Two months had passed in the blink of an eye. Although the zombies in the north were not as dense, they still posed a lurking danger. There were many severed limbs on the road and numerous people who had starved to death.

He could clearly feel that as their abilities increased, the zombies were also evolving. They no longer attacked mechanically but possessed a certain level of intelligence, making them more difficult to deal with. The air grew increasingly heavy with the scent of blood, and with every mile, his mood sank lower.

The people they encountered on the road looked like walking corpses, their faces filled with despair.

News about the bases had also spread. A base in the south was destroyed, while another in the north faced a zombie wave, leaving almost no ordinary people alive. The most advantageous Dawn Base had dragged ordinary people out to be used as scapegoats when the zombies besieged it.

The weak could only be dominated by the strong, searching for a glimmer of survival in the cracks. The conflict between ordinary people and ability users was becoming increasingly intense.

Mu Chengfeng’s expression was grim. He had originally planned to seek refuge in a base because they had better defenses and structured rules and could build a barrier together in times of danger, making it a relatively safe place. However, it seemed that bases also harbored filth and darkness.

Luo Ning couldn’t help but recall the ending of the original timeline. The death of the zombie king, humanity defeating the zombies, and the female lead becoming a ruler, yet the world did not return to its previous peace and tranquility.

Instead, it regressed into a feudal slave society, where ordinary people became slaves while ability users were at the top. The wars that erupted among humans lasted for over a hundred years.

Luo Ning felt no attachment to this world, but he didn’t want it to be filled only with slaughter and coldness, a bleak and desolate sight.

His heart suddenly grew heavier. They drove into an outskirt factory in the evening, surrounded by tall buildings, dark and devoid of light.

Mu Chengfeng stopped the car, expressionless as he glanced ahead. He reassuringly took Luo Ning’s hand. Several tall figures stood outside.

Several sharp wind blades swept through the air. Mu Chengfeng made a quick turn to dodge them. With a dark expression, he got out of the car. He raised his finger slightly, and the wind blades in the air vanished without a trace.

Several tall men stood across from them, their faces fierce and their muscles bulging, with a hint of malice in their eyes, resembling ferocious beasts.

They were criminals before, but the apocalypse had freed them from their constraints and made them even more violent. They looted and murdered people at will. Their strength and special ability allowed them to live quite well.

One of the men with yellow hair stroked the two geese in front of him. They were his treasures, having raised them after his release from prison. Who knew they would become superpowered beasts and become a great help? He didn’t know why the wind blade hadn’t hit just now, but he wasn’t overly cautious. After all, there were many of them and they had never suffered losses before.

He even smiled wickedly at Mu Chengfeng and Chen Li. “Leave all your supplies here, and you’ll avoid some suffering. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being rude.”

“I enjoy slicing people piece by piece. It’s best if you’re sensible and don’t make me lose patience.”

Chen Li stuck his head out and said, “What the hell are you talking about, you idiot!”

Chen Li didn’t have much combat power, but he was protected by a big boss, so he wasn’t afraid at all.

Huang Mao was so angry that his face turned ugly. He suddenly glanced behind Mu Chengfeng and said suspiciously, “You’re guarding so closely. Could it be that you have some treasure, or maybe a little beauty?”

As he spoke, he couldn’t help but stare. Mu Chengfeng’s aura suddenly turned cold, and a black flame shot out and pierced through Huang Mao’s chest.

Huang Mao was shocked and fell to the ground. His companions were angered and charged forward.
