Although his body was rapidly cooling, it felt as if a fierce fire was burning in his head, about to consume his sanity.

Mu Chengfeng’s forehead was already damp, his face and skin very pale, gradually turning a bluish-black. He couldn’t help but clench his hands and let out faint sounds between his teeth.

This was a sign that he was about to turn into a zombie. Mu Chengfeng’s eyes turned red. Who would want to die? Yet it seemed he had no choice. Just as those people said, he too would be infected and become a zombie, losing his breath and warmth, merely existing as a shell, no longer considered human.

Mu Chengfeng closed his eyes, trying to shield the resentment in his eyes. His fingers weakly clawed at the floor, blood seeping out. He was no longer concerned about those people. He lay there helplessly, waiting for death to come every second as if he were falling into an ice cellar.

A faint breath approached him, but he couldn’t care less.

The people in the room quickly finished packing and were eager to leave. Not only that, they cleaned out everything, including Mu Chengfeng’s backpack, as if they were certain he wouldn’t survive. They hastily loaded the things into their vehicle like a whirlwind, leaving Luo Ning no time to stop them.

His eyes widened in shock as he quickly stood up and rushed over to reclaim Mu Chengfeng’s backpack. He hugged it tightly in his arms. How could there be such cruel people?

They left no supplies behind, intending to cut off all of Mu Chengfeng’s chances for survival. No one considered what would happen if he managed to survive. What would he do without food and water? If they knew that those infected still had a slim chance of awakening their abilities, this was the very supply Mu Chengfeng had gathered. How shameless!

Luo Ning’s pale face turned red with anger as he exclaimed, “This isn’t yours. You have no right to take it.”

The person was caught off guard and truly had the backpack snatched back by Luo Ning. He glared, slightly furious. “What’s wrong with you? He’s a monster now. He can’t use it anymore, so why can’t I take it?”

“Who are you to decide? Are you trying to hoard it all for yourself?”

He sized Luo Ning up and noticed his frail figure, then he clenched his fist threateningly.

Luo Ning knew he couldn’t fight back with his skinny body. He turned to Mu Shan, who loved to pretend to be kind, and deliberately asked, “Miss Mu, wouldn’t it be unreasonable not to leave some supplies for Mr. Mu, considering your past relationship?”

He needed to resolve this quickly. In the apocalypse, supplies were the most important. He had to reclaim some for Mu Chengfeng, who could no longer afford to wait. He couldn’t keep entangling himself with these people. He had to find a way to save him.

Luo Ning felt anxious, his heart racing.

Fortunately, Mu Shan didn’t say much and agreed directly, “Then let’s leave a little.”

She would not refuse for the sake of her gentle and kind image. Since she had a say in the group, her agreement meant the others wouldn’t question it further.

Mu Shan quickly got into the car and looked at Luo Ning with displeasure. A pretty boy like him actually spoke up for Mu Chengfeng, pretending to be noble. She snorted coldly, and when she saw Luo Ning standing still, she asked, “Aren’t you leaving?”

Luo Ning replied, “No,” and turned away, no longer looking at them.

The person who had the backpack stolen voiced his dissatisfaction, “We can’t fit everyone in the car anyway. If he doesn’t want to come, so be it!”

Others chimed in, “Yeah, with him gone, we’ll save some food. What use is a pretty boy like him?”

“Let’s leave quickly. If he likes to stay with the monster, then let him.”

With that, the car door slammed shut. Mu Shan frowned, pretending to be reluctant, but in fact she was very satisfied.
