After finishing the bowl of fresh fish balls, Shen Zhou did not ask his assistant to move him out of the hospital because he found it interesting. Plus, there was delicious food. Instead, he maintained his state of amnesia.
However, the hospital’s smell was uncomfortable for him, and not wanting Shen Mo to discover that he was still alive, Shen Zhou wanted to be discharged as soon as possible.
A week later, after being told he could go home to recuperate from his injuries, Shen Zhou brought up the discharge. Luo Ning consulted the doctor and went to handle the paperwork. There was little to pack, just a few pieces of clothing.
They hailed a taxi, and Luo Ning took Shen Zhou home under the guise of being friends. The car had a stuffy smell, and Luo Ning felt uneasy at the sight of how cramped Shen Zhou’s tall frame looked inside the car. His demeanor clearly indicated he was used to luxury cars, but now they were both broke.
Luo Ning stared at him, and Shen Zhou suddenly turned his head to meet his gaze. Luo Ning felt as if he had been burned and quickly lowered his head.
Shen Zhou’s eyes deepened slightly, confirming his suspicion that Luo Ning had a crush on him.
The atmosphere suddenly felt a bit tense. Upon arriving, Luo Ning quickly helped him out of the car. Shen Zhou’s strong arms conveyed warmth, and Luo Ning could feel the smooth muscles beneath his hands. As a pure zero, his eyes became somewhat unfocused.
The place they were living in was on the outskirts of the city, a one-bedroom apartment. Although it was cramped and inconvenient for work, the rent was cheap. Luo Ning had tidied it up nicely. With cute plush toys, light blue curtains, and a small potted plant, it looked quite warm and inviting.
After looking around, Shen Zhou sat on the sofa. The TV was just a short distance away. The bedroom was separated by just a wooden board, making it quite simple. The maid’s room in Shen Zhou’s villa was twice as large. But sitting here, he felt a sense of relaxation that he hadn’t felt in a long time.
Luo Ning turned on the TV and set out a plate of small cakes on the table. His eyes curved into a smile. “You eat this first. You’ll be living here from now on, so don’t be shy. I’ll check what’s in the fridge. Since you’re being discharged today, let’s have something nice to eat.”
Shen Zhou nodded, watching him put on a cartoon apron. Once the person entered the kitchen, his gentle appearance faded, returning to his usual coldness.
Luo Ning prepared tomato beef stew and steamed sea bass. They were light yet delicious, just enough for both of them.
Luo Ning had already bought toiletries, sleepwear, and slippers for Shen Zhou, so he could use them directly. The once lonely home suddenly felt full with another person’s presence.
Luo Ning finished showering and dried his hair. He had a habit of drinking a glass of milk before going to bed. After gulping it down, a cute milk mustache formed around his lips.
Shen Zhou’s eyes fell on him. Luo Ning casually wore a sleep shirt, revealing his slender neck and delicate arms, his skin cool and white like jade.
Due to the moisture in the air, he looked particularly fresh, his narrow eyes slightly misty and shimmering with a watery glow.
As Shen Zhou approached, he could smell the delicate fragrance coming from the other person’s body. He said in a low voice, “You like drinking milk this much? No wonder there’s a milky scent on you.”
Luo Ning was confused and licked away the milk mustache, his tongue pink and tender as it slowly swept over his lips, making them glisten. “Are you joking? I don’t smell like anything.”
“Milk is so sweet, don’t you think it’s delicious?”
Shen Zhou’s eyes darkened as he stared at Luo Ning, suspecting that this person was intentionally flirting and tempting him.
Luo Ning merely licked his lips out of habit. Shen Zhou’s eyes were aggressive for a moment. He found it a bit strange but didn’t dwell on it.
