In this subtle ambiguity, Gu Hanchen was finally discharged from the hospital. He was able to stand and take a few steps.

But the surgery alone wasn’t enough. He had to follow the doctor’s guidance to do rehabilitation exercises to fully recover.

Gu Hanchen sat in a wheelchair. He was unaccustomed to moving after so long without walking. When he first placed his feet on the ground, he almost fell. His legs felt like rusty screws that needed to be gradually loosened to regain their mobility.

It felt as if there were steel needles poking inside his bones. The sharp pain was intense and numbing.

After a short while of trying to walk, sweat drenched Gu Hanchen’s forehead. He bit his lip, clearly struggling.

Luo Ning supported him beside, afraid of him falling. The intensity of the exercise slowly increased. Hearing Gu Hanchen’s heavy breathing and seeing the sweat on his palms, Luo Ning could only imagine how tired he was. There was no way for Luo Ning to help share in the burden, but this process had to continue. He encouraged Gu Hanchen like he was comforting a child.

“Brother Gu, you’re doing great! Just hang in there. Let’s take a few more steps, and the light is just around the corner.”

“Once we get through this, you’ll be able to walk on your own.”

Gu Hanchen leaned against Luo Ning, breathing heavily. “I’m so tired.”

Luo Ning offered him some water and said tenderly, “When we get home, I’ll give you a massage. You’ll feel so much better. Be good, Brother Gu, let’s endure this a bit longer, and we won’t have to suffer like this again.”

“How about we walk a bit longer? When we go back, I won’t make you drink any more tonic soup. I’ll make you your favorite sweet and sour pork ribs. You love to hug me, right? I’ll let you hug to your heart’s content.”

Gu Hanchen’s eyes brightened slightly, his face resting against Luo Ning’s neck. Was there really such a good thing?

He seemed to slowly understand something. He didn’t appear as tough anymore, adopting a more vulnerable look that tugged at Luo Ning’s heartstrings, making him more accepting of Gu Hanchen’s clinginess.

Gu Hanchen grasped Luo Ning’s slender waist tighter. Simply holding on didn’t seem enough. After lightly biting Luo Ning’s neck, he caught sight of Luo Ning’s fair face that looked sweet and soft, akin to a ripe peach. Gu Hanchen’s throat moved slightly. He couldn’t resist leaning in for a bite. Sure enough, it was fragrant and too tempting to let go.

Luo Ning blinked his eyes, and his face appeared even more rosy. He lowered his eyelashes, not pushing the man away but rather silently allowing his approach.

He didn’t even resist anymore. Since he liked Brother Gu, a little kiss wouldn’t hurt, right?

However, Gu Hanchen bit too hard, causing his skin to tingle, so he had to push him away.

Having tasted the sweetness, it became harder for Gu Hanchen to practice walking. His brows furrowed tighter, and he looked even more exhausted. He said he needed to hold Luo Ning to have the motivation.

Luo Ning’s heart softened. He blushed as he told Gu Hanchen, “After practice, I’ll let you kiss me for a while.”

Gu Hanchen’s eyes instantly burned with desire. He no longer complained about being tired. His baby was simply too adorable. Once they were inside the room, he closed the door and cornered Luo Ning on the sofa, showering soft kisses on his nose, eyes, and cheeks like raindrops.

Luo Ning slightly turned his head and actively met Gu Hanchen’s thin lips, gently rolling his lips and nibbling on his.

Gu Hanchen’s breath quickened immediately, deepening the kiss as he clumsily licked and savored Luo Ning’s breath.

Then instinctively, he delved into Luo Ning’s lips, tasting the sweet flavor. He pressed Luo Ning tighter against him and kissed him until his tongue went numb.

Luo Ning was about to run out of breath, and only when he whimpered did Gu Hanchen finally loosen his grip. He breathed heavily, his lips reddened and glistening like flower petals, incredibly alluring. His eyes were also sparkling with light.

He glared at Gu Hanchen. “Can’t you be a little more reserved?”

Gu Hanchen’s gaze was fiery. He couldn’t hold back anymore. This was his first taste of kissing. He couldn’t help but linger on Luo Ning’s lips and said in a hoarse voice, “Baby, just one more kiss.”

He pressed him down and kissed him again, now with some experience. He was less stiff, their breaths intertwining, though his movements were still somewhat rough, as if he were trying to devour Luo Ning.

Gu Hanchen had no dating experience, and every step he took with Luo Ning felt unsteady. To learn how to date better, he started researching online about what couples do.

He even opened the game—the cute little character was gone, but it still had a shopping feature.

He found the love manual from before and studied it carefully. He had once scoffed at it, but now he was reading it very seriously.

It said to make your little lover happy, you needed to say sweet things.

Gu Hanchen reluctantly memorized some phrases and decided to apply them. But when he recited those cheesy lines with a serious face, it made Luo Ning feel really weird, prompting him to lean in and cover his mouth to bring him back to normal.

Gu Hanchen ignored the game and concluded that the strange manual was useless. He rolled over and pinned Luo Ning beneath him, showering him with kisses. Luo Ning’s collar was pulled open, and heated marks were left on his skin, blooming like plum blossoms on his fair collarbone and chest.

Luo Ning’s eyelashes trembled slightly, and his toes curled up. His mind was hazy, tears glistening at the corners of his eyes. He braced himself against Gu Hanchen’s chest and trembled as he pushed him away. He couldn’t continue.

He was a bit afraid of the pain, and besides they hadn’t bought that ‘thing’ yet. Luo Ning felt he couldn’t handle that last step.

Their breathing was erratic. Gu Hanchen lightly bit Luo Ning’s finger, his eyes filled with passion. In fact, he hadn’t thought about it as much as Luo Ning did. He had never been in a relationship before, and managing to kiss felt like progress. He didn’t know how couples should be intimate.

Even when driven by desire, he simply hugged Luo Ning and kissed him, their skins touching each other, trying to suppress that heat.

Thanks to the nurturing love, every little thing they did together became sweet. The air was filled with bubbles of love. Gu Hanchen felt satisfied, and the practice wasn’t tiring at all.

Eating well, sleeping well, and feeling good, combined with top-notch medication, Gu Hanchen’s recovery was swift. From taking two steps at first, he gradually walked twenty to thirty steps. Eventually, Luo Ning let go, and he could walk independently.

Having experienced the pain of a broken leg, Gu Hanchen cherished this hard-won health even more. Although he appeared calm, his fingers trembled when he was finally able to walk by himself.

He had always been tall, and now he was no longer skinny. The muscles on his body had filled out, and he looked spirited and dashing—the kind of handsome man that would turn heads on the street.

Luo Ning looked at his man with a sense of accomplishment. It wasn’t easy to raise him to this state.

Although Gu Hanchen couldn’t run yet, walking was no problem. Even if he occasionally went out on his own, Luo Ning felt reassured.

That day, Luo Ning planned to cook a good meal to celebrate. There were no restrictions on food now, so he decided to prepare a pan-fried steak and went to the supermarket with Gu Hanchen.

They filled the shopping cart with fruits, vegetables, bread, and snacks. On the other side of the mall, there was a flower shop. Gu Hanchen remembered roses represented romance. He also recalled how the fireworks in the game had delighted Luo Ning. With the little bit of romantic instinct he had, he walked over and bought a bouquet of flowers, choosing the most vibrant one.

Looking at the richly colored roses, Gu Hanchen’s eyes held a hint of a smile. Luo Ning didn’t object. Although he wasn’t particularly interested in flowers, it reminded him of the steak they would be having for dinner, and fresh flowers would add a touch of romance. They were deeply in love, and a little more romance was nice.

At the checkout, there was a line. Gu Hanchen waited, while Luo Ning noticed an ice cream stand not far away. He felt a bit thirsty after so long of shopping. Plus, it had been a long time since he had ice cream.

He was craving it, so he waved to Gu Hanchen and dashed over to the ice cream stand.

As Gu Hanchen was waiting, he spotted a couple in front of him, cuddling and whispering sweet nothings.

The tall man smiled mischievously, pulled a blue box from his right, and whispered suggestively to the shorter man in his arms, “You’re going to like this.”

“The new flavor is really delicious.”

“Let me have a bit more tonight. It’ll definitely feel comfortable.”

The shorter one’s face instantly turned red, and he pinched the taller man, but he was smiling, looking quite happy. He muttered, “Keep your voice down. What if someone hears us? You might not care about your reputation, but I do.”

The taller man replied with mild dissatisfaction, “What’s there to be embarrassed about? We’re a couple, isn’t that normal? Those single people wouldn’t understand this joy.”

The two of them leaned in to whisper, so Gu Hanchen couldn’t hear clearly, but he still caught a few words.

Like? Comfortable? And something exclusive to couples?

Gu Hanchen pondered for a moment. As he walked forward, he picked up a few boxes that sounded pretty good. His baby should like them too, right?

He didn’t pay much attention to the small print on the packaging. He just saw a strawberry and thought it might be some kind of candy. Since his baby liked sweet things, he grabbed some.

Although he didn’t understand what it had to do with couples, by the time he got to the checkout, he didn’t dwell on it.

The two of them returned home laden with bags. Gu Hanchen sat on the sofa peeling fruits while Luo Ning took out snacks and was preparing to bring the remaining vegetables into the kitchen.

Suddenly, Luo Ning spotted a small blue object at the bottom of one of the bags. He picked it up curiously, initially thinking it was chewing gum, but after some mental processing, he realized what it was. He examined it closely.

Although he hadn’t used one, he had watched enough TV dramas and read enough novels to recognize it quickly. Well… this was indecent stuff.

Luo Ning felt heat rising to his palms and his face warming instantly, leaving him frozen in shock.

Realizing Gu Hanchen was looking over, he quickly turned away to hide his expression and hurriedly shoved a few boxes back into the bag.

He couldn’t calm down, and his mind was clouded with confusion.

He glanced around, not only finding that item but also roses. Combined with the candlelit dinner planned for tonight, all these items made for quite an arrangement.

Luo Ning instantly understood Gu Hanchen wasn’t planning to wait any longer. Was he about to make a move on him?

Otherwise, it made no sense for him to buy that box.

Plus, the atmosphere was quite fitting tonight. Luo Ning grew more certain of his guess.

He couldn’t contain his panic. He was becoming nervous.

Although he knew this day would come, now that it was actually here, Luo Ning felt a bit hesitant.
