Chapter 78: This Thing… Is This Porridge??

***

Xu Fengwu was clever. Through Xia Ruoming’s constantly changing attitudes, she understood that Xia Ruoming wasn’t as resolute as she imagined herself to be. She didn’t know if Xia Ruoming had noticed this herself, but she had already figured it out.

Just as Xu Yihan had taught her, maintaining a humble attitude and taking a step back was the strongest weapon.

As long as Xia Ruoming still cared about her, crying was effective — although she hadn’t meant to cry deliberately, the result was what she wanted.

Xia Ruoming couldn’t truly remain indifferent to her, so she still had a chance to win her back.

Wasn’t she unconditionally good to herself, making herself unable to leave her? Then she just needed to do the same thing in return.

Xu Fengwu now knew that Xia Ruoming was no longer exclusively devoted to her, but she had also tested that everything hadn’t gone too far yet, still at a crossroads where turning back was completely possible. From that moment on, she was no longer that proud phoenix, just a love-struck young girl.

Lowering her pride, all for the sake of finding that girl who had always been by her side, and then keeping her by her side, not letting those wild flowers mess with her anymore.

Even Xu Fengwu herself hadn’t noticed that she had developed a very obsessive and yandere-like thought.

“Whatever…” Xia Ruoming was speechless herself. Being very tired, she really didn’t have the energy to argue with her late at night, deciding to return to her own bed to sleep.

As long as Xu Fengwu didn’t raid her at night, it would be fine.

But, as the saying goes, whatever you fear, that’s what will come.

When climbing onto her own bed, Xu Fengwu suddenly grabbed the unsuspecting Xia Ruoming and pinned her down.

“Xu Fengwu, don’t go too far…” Before Xia Ruoming could finish her threatening words, Xu Fengwu sealed her lips with a kiss, turning her intended words into muffled sounds.

After prying open Xia Ruoming’s lips, Xu Fengwu’s tongue was about to slide into her mouth.

This warm sensation felt somewhat familiar to Xia Ruoming. Suddenly, she remembered the spring dream she had several months ago — that fragrant scent was actually Xu Fengwu’s natural scent.

Damn it, so she had already been secretly kissed by this girl months ago? Or was it that just smelling her scent could make her have such dreams?

Xia Ruoming clenched her teeth, preventing Xu Fengwu’s tongue from advancing further. Suddenly, Xu Fengwu bit Xia Ruoming’s lip in retaliation.

After the sharp pain, a bit of crimson seeped from her lip. When Xia Ruoming loosened her jaw in pain, Xu Fengwu’s tongue instantly intertwined with hers.

Xu Fengwu’s initiative directly ignited the flame in Xia Ruoming’s heart. Although in her previous life she had maintained her purity, she was certainly not an inexperienced innocent girl. Even the energetic Jiang Ruhua would be unable to get out of bed the next day after being with her.

Did Xu Fengwu really think she could dominate her?

After embracing Xu Fengwu’s slender waist, the now-attacking Xia Ruoming pinned Xu Fengwu beneath her, immediately taking the advantage in this encounter.

Xu Fengwu was even kissed to the point of daze. When Xia Ruoming released her, she still lay on the bed blankly, without any reaction.

But the victor of this “encounter,” Xia Ruoming, hadn’t gained any advantage either. She immediately grabbed her blanket and fled to Liu Ruoxue’s room, in a rather panicked manner…

The reason was simple, Xia Ruoming wasn’t a saint. With beauty before her and caught in desire, she couldn’t guarantee she could control herself. She feared she might accidentally press Xu Fengwu down on the bed and spend the spring night together.

Although she might not necessarily need to take responsibility, she wasn’t the type of person who would do such things.

Xu Fengwu’s fragrance still lingered on her body, the remaining scent persisting for an hour. She also spent an hour reading detective novels in Liu Ruoxue’s room before calming down.

It must be said that reading new detective novels to exercise the brain was quite helpful for calming down. Xia Ruoming, who had almost wanted to self-generate electricity, was now as calm as a saint, her mind full of thoughts about who the culprit in the novel might be.

……

……

“Cough cough…” When Xia Ruoming woke up in the morning, she coughed a couple of times, clearly feeling something wrong with her voice. It was the sound of having phlegm in her throat, and somehow, she felt weak in all four limbs.

She barely managed to raise her hand to feel her forehead, the temperature clearly not what a normal person should have.

Indeed, after sleeping for a night, Xu Fengwu’s cold and fever had gotten better, but damn it, she had been infected.

Seeing that Xia Ruoming hadn’t gotten up to make breakfast yet, Xu Fengwu quietly ran to Liu Ruoxue’s room to take a look, and found Xia Ruoming lying in bed with her eyes open, looking weak.

Only then did Xu Fengwu notice that Xia Ruoming’s complexion seemed unusual. How could she always have a flush on her face? Combined with her current state, could it be a fever?

Xu Fengwu pressed her forehead against Xia Ruoming, instantly feeling the burning temperature. It seemed Xia Ruoming really had a fever.

“Fengwu, you should go out and buy something to eat, I don’t have much energy.” Seeing Xu Fengwu looking at her, Xia Ruoming said, her voice practically writing the word ‘weak’ on her face.

“Just lie down, Ruoming, I’ll make breakfast.” Saying this, Xu Fengwu immediately put on Liu Ruoxue’s apron and ran into the kitchen.

While appearing downcast about Xia Ruoming’s illness on the surface, Xu Fengwu was actually overjoyed inside. This was truly heaven helping her! People are most likely to develop good feelings towards others when they’re sick, isn’t this the perfect opportunity? Just after making up her mind, she encountered such good fortune — surely the world must think she and Xia Ruoming are a perfect match?

It must be said that sick people are indeed more likely to develop good feelings towards those who take care of them, and Xia Ruoming was no exception. For a moment, she was truly moved by Xu Fengwu — that is, until this Miss Xu brought that pot of whatever she made to her…

“Say… Miss Xu… what is this thing…” Looking at the partially blackened, overall mushy substance before her that looked like the universal food after the Yellow King and Cthulhu shared the world, Xia Ruoming didn’t know what to say. After a long silence, she finally asked.

“Um… porridge, it should be porridge.” Xu Fengwu’s tone was even somewhat uncertain. Actually, she knew that her cooking skills were limited to making sandwiches and toasting bread and such, but she still wanted to try.

After holding her forehead, Xia Ruoming felt all her previous feelings of being touched had gone to waste. She even felt her high fever had gotten a bit better, almost wanting to get up and cook herself. This thing, although not terribly mushy, looked overall like troll gruel?? She had even had a little expectation when Xu Fengwu was making breakfast for her.

But even so, the fact that this young lady would actively cook for her still made her feel warm inside.

For a moment, she even picked up the spoon wanting to taste this strange concoction.

Seeing this, Xu Fengwu immediately grabbed the spoon away. She couldn’t bear to see Xia Ruoming get sick again. After sticking out her tongue cutely, Xu Fengwu took away that pot of troll gruel and ran out to buy breakfast for Xia Ruoming.
