Chapter 70: Suspicion

Damn it!

The hairs on Yuan Shiyuan’s back stood on end. He’d completely forgotten about Bo Jin!

Seated on Ying Mingxi’s lap, Yuan Shiyuan’s memory was instantly jolted awake. He remembered his roommate, who was waiting patiently in the dormitory for him to return and share a late-night snack. The way Bo Jin had suddenly appeared outside the glass window felt no different from a malevolent spirit crawling out of a horror movie.

Just as Yuan Shiyuan was about to push off Ying Mingxi’s shoulder to get up and open the door, Ying Mingxi wrapped an arm around his waist and pulled him back. Right under Bo Jin’s glaring eyes, Ying Mingxi pressed his large palm against Yuan Shiyuan’s waist, his thin lips brushing against his earlobe as he whispered softly:

“Shiyuan, keep enjoying your breakfast. I’ll get the door.”

“Don’t let this ruin your meal.”

With that, Ying Mingxi gently lifted Yuan Shiyuan and settled him firmly back onto the chair. Throughout the entire exchange, Yuan Shiyuan didn’t utter a single word; the Alpha had already arranged everything.

As Ying Mingxi headed to open the door, he even glanced back and smiled at Yuan Shiyuan.

Compared to Bo Jin outside the window, his eyes burning with fury, it was like heaven and earth.

Yuan Shiyuan couldn’t help but marvel at Ying Mingxi’s gentle thoughtfulness—it was truly disarming.

The moment the door cracked open, Bo Jin stormed in, bringing with him a gust of icy wind and simmering fury. He immediately launched into a barrage of accusations:

“Why is Ying Mingxi here? Were you two together all night?”

“Were you two canoodling the whole time?”

“That’s why you didn’t reply to my messages.”

Yuan Shiyuan protested, “We weren’t canoodling! We were just talking.”

“Talking all night? Is that how you sweet-talk him?” Bo Jin clearly didn’t believe him, his gaze piercingly probing as he turned to Ying Mingxi. “What kind of ‘talking’ requires you to sit on his lap?”

Bo Jin had been driven mad with worry. When Yuan Shiyuan suddenly vanished, he bombarded him with calls, only to hear the busy signal each time.

He had searched aimlessly outside for hours, on the verge of reporting him missing, when he finally remembered to check the security footage.

Once he pinpointed Yuan Shiyuan’s approximate location, Bo Jin raced over. He had already decided: if he didn’t find Yuan Shiyuan by seven o’clock, he would call the police.

Instead, he stumbled upon the scene of Yuan Shiyuan feeding breakfast to another Alpha.

“It has nothing to do with Brother Ying Mingxi…” Yuan Shiyuan blurted out instinctively, only to be cut off by Bo Jin. “I’ve been searching for you all night, and you’re still defending him?”

Yuan Shiyuan noticed the bloodshot veins in Bo Jin’s eyes and the faint dark circles beneath them. His clothes were rumpled and disheveled, making him look utterly haggard.

This disheveled appearance matched Bo Jin’s claim of having stayed up all night searching for him.

“You’re just roommates. You’re meddling too much,” Ying Mingxi said with a smile, though his tone was dripping with sarcasm. “Shiyuan is an adult now. You have no right to interfere in his affairs.”

“Please don’t target him.”

“We’re roommates,” Bo Jin retorted. “Then what’s your relationship? Teammates? Well, he’s my teammate too.”

“…”

“Besides, I’m not targeting him. I’m targeting you.”

As if catching lovers in the act, Bo Jin’s hawk-like gaze swept through the room, missing no corner—not behind the curtains, not inside the trash can. Only after confirming there were no suspicious traces did he let out an imperceptible sigh of relief.

Perhaps having read too much fanfiction, he was now inexplicably on edge.

Before, seeing Yuan Shiyuan interact closely with other Alphas had only made him feel mildly irritated. Now, any physical contact Yuan Shiyuan had with anyone else felt like a dangerous spark to his eyes.

After all, in fanfiction, even the slightest touch could ignite a raging wildfire. Any place—even the kitchen or the island counter where they cooked and ate—could become a scene of transgression.

Seeing Bo Jin’s expression soften, Yuan Shiyuan edged closer, his head tilted up, eyes glistening.

“Brother Bo Jin, I didn’t ignore your messages on purpose. My phone battery died suddenly—it’s been draining fast lately.” He shook the black screen of his phone, then added quietly, “And I wasn’t feeling well last night…”

“You felt better when you were with him?” Bo Jin’s tone softened slightly, but his gaze darkened. “You don’t feel well with me?”

“I didn’t say that,” Yuan Shiyuan shook his head, gently tugging at the corner of Bo Jin’s shirt. “You’re very important to me.”

Bo Jin lowered his head, his gaze colliding with Yuan Shiyuan’s watery eyes. Just as his heart began to soften, his eyes landed on Yuan Shiyuan’s visibly oversized jacket—clearly belonging to another Alpha.

As Bo Jin reached for the coat, his eyes swiftly caught a glimpse of the faint outline beneath Yuan Shiyuan’s pajama pants. His taut, handsome face froze, and his ears burned inexplicably.

Bo Jin awkwardly shifted his fingers and draped the coat back over Yuan Shiyuan.

“Let’s go,” Bo Jin said, wrapping an arm around Yuan Shiyuan’s shoulders and pulling him close. As he did, he instinctively glanced at the Alpha standing nearby.

Ying Mingxi didn’t stop them. His gentle, handsome face even wore a smile, but his eyes were devoid of warmth.

In each other’s eyes, they saw the same hostility.

“Back to the dormitory?” Yuan Shiyuan asked, tilting his head back, his voice still husky from sleep.

“To the hospital.”

Bo Jin led Yuan Shiyuan outside, reaching out to touch his forehead. “Didn’t you say you weren’t feeling well?”

Yuan Shiyuan’s cheeks flushed a faint red, and his lips were swollen a vivid crimson. He couldn’t tell if it was his imagination, but Yuan Shiyuan’s forehead and cheeks felt unusually hot to the touch.

Could he be running a fever?

“That’s not necessary…” Yuan Shiyuan immediately protested. “I feel much better now.”

Having been saturated with pheromones, Yuan Shiyuan felt wonderfully comfortable.

The Alpha’s trousers were visibly stained. After a moment’s hesitation, he raised his eyelashes and asked softly, “Did you really look for me all night?”

“Not all night. Just a few hours,” Bo Jin glanced at him. “You said you’d be right back, so I waited in the dormitory. When you didn’t show up after a while, I texted and called, but there was no response.”

“The line was always busy.”

“I figured you were just on a long call and forgot the time, so I ignored it at first. But when I still couldn’t reach you later, I came out to look for you.”

He’d been searching since shortly after 2 AM. This was the first time Bo Jin had ever felt so panicked, his rational and emotional sides warring relentlessly.

One part of him reasoned that Yuan Shiyuan was an adult, and the company was safe; nothing could happen. The other part worried that Yuan Shiyuan was still so young—what if he ran into bad people while wandering outside?

Finding Yuan Shiyuan safe and sound finally eased Bo Jin’s anxiety. But he was still annoyed: why was Ying Mingxi with him? Had they spent the whole night together?

What exactly happened between them last night? What could have made Yuan Shiyuan forget me completely?

On the way back, Yuan Shiyuan seemed exhausted and sleepy. He leaned his head against Bo Jin’s shoulder, silent and docile.

He looked so obedient now, yet he’d secretly left Bo Jin hanging all night. Bo Jin’s teeth itched with irritation, and he gently pinched Yuan Shiyuan’s cheek.

The skin felt warm and supple, so satisfying to the touch that his fingertips tingled.

Yuan Shiyuan, half-asleep, remained utterly oblivious to Bo Jin’s furtive gestures.

His first Omega heat period had struck suddenly, without warning. He’d been in a desperate rush, his phone was dead, and the pleasure of the temporary mark had left him dizzy and disoriented…

He’d completely forgotten about Bo Jin, who might as well have been on another planet.

He’d also completely forgotten about his roommate, who was waiting alone in their dorm room, anxiously awaiting his return after buying late-night snacks.

Putting himself in Bo Jin’s shoes, Yuan Shiyuan realized that even though it was unintentional, making his friend wait so long was truly excessive.

When he returned to the dormitory, he found a lavish spread of late-night snacks arranged on the table, alongside an exquisitely arranged French-cut fruit gift box. The box was adorned with fresh flowers and verdant leaves, tied with a velvet ribbon, lending the display an almost ceremonial air.

His guilt deepened.

“Brother Bo Jin…”

Just as Yuan Shiyuan was about to offer a sincere apology, he suddenly noticed several plush toys had appeared on his bed.

There was an oversized pink sunflower plush with a single eye and four-leaf clover, as well as a smaller, miniature version of the same doll. Even the bedside table held a complete set of storage boxes—two sides with four compartments each—each compartment housing different color variations of plush doll keychains.

“Why did you buy so many plush dolls?!” Yuan Shiyuan exclaimed, astonished. “When did you even get these? Last night?”

“The mall closed hours ago, didn’t it?”

Where did Bo Jin even buy these?

Seeing Yuan Shiyuan’s delighted and astonished expression, Bo Jin’s lips twitched upward in a small smile before he quickly suppressed it. His tone remained nonchalant as he said, “I’m a global VIP at their stores. A phone call was all it took.”

Yuan Shiyuan: “……”

“Alright, you rich people really are something,” he muttered, reaching out to pinch the feet of the plush dolls, both large and small. “But they’re so cute.”

“Do you like them?”

“I love them!”

Bo Jin’s face lit up with smug satisfaction.

He had long resented the giant plush doll Pei Yanbing had given Yuan Shiyuan, as well as the little plush doll Yuan Shiyuan always carried on his bag like a precious treasure. They had always irked him.

Now that the plush dolls he had bought had won Yuan Shiyuan’s affection, surely they would replace the others?

“It’s just…” Yuan Shiyuan trailed off, tracing the printed logo on one of the dolls. “They’re too extravagant.”

Yuan Shiyuan didn’t care much for designer brands. Even when his family had been better off, his parents had only ever bought him relatively expensive sportswear brands. The logo printed on these plush dolls, however, clearly belonged to an international luxury brand.

Bo Jin asked only one question: “Do you like it?”

“I do,” Yuan Shiyuan nodded.

“Then that’s all that matters.”

“If you like it, keep it. If you don’t, throw it away,” Bo Jin said. “I never take back gifts I give.”

Bo Jin picked up a little plush doll and pressed it into Yuan Shiyuan’s palm. His fingertips accidentally brushed against Yuan Shiyuan’s knuckles, the warmth burning like a flame.

Is his big-A chauvinism acting up again? Yuan Shiyuan wondered.

He had been about to say more, but seeing Bo Jin’s disheveled clothes and remembering how Bo Jin had waited for him all night, the words of refusal caught in his throat.

Bo Jin had waited for him, searched for him all night, and even given him this plush doll to win him over.

A warm current surged through Yuan Shiyuan’s chest. He threw his arms around Bo Jin, having to stand on tiptoe slightly due to their height difference.

“Brother Bo Jin, you’re so good to me!” he squeezed the Alpha tightly, deeply moved. “You truly are my best bro!”

The body in his arms was soft, warm, and faintly fragrant.

Bo Jin lowered his head, burying his face in Yuan Shiyuan’s pink hair, inhaling deeply. A hint of amusement flickered across his usually stern features.

“So, we’re really best bros?”

“Of course!”

“Then what did you and Ying Mingxi do last night? I want all the details.”

“……”

One thing is one thing, another is another.

Fortunately, Bo Jin’s question was interesting enough for Yuan Shiyuan to reply, “We didn’t do anything. We just talked.”

“All night?” Bo Jin retorted. “Do you think your ‘good brother’ is an idiot?”

This wasn’t the first time Yuan Shiyuan had pulled something like this.

“I’m not lying. I really didn’t do anything with Brother Mingxi. But the rest… I don’t want to talk about it,” he declared defiantly. “Everyone has secrets.”

“Even from your best friend?”

“Of course. Even the closest friends have secrets.”

“Oh, then I don’t want to be your friend anymore.”

“Then what do you want to be?” Yuan Shiyuan raised an eyebrow. “My husband?”

Bo Jin froze.

The air seemed to solidify. His pupils contracted sharply, and his expression became stiff and unnatural.

Yuan Shiyuan belatedly realized what he had said and cleared his throat twice. “Just kidding.”

Knowing Bo Jin’s aversion to Alphas, this joke had indeed fallen flat. He hastily hugged Bo Jin tightly. “Don’t be mad. I’ll definitely reply to your messages next time. This was a genuine accident. Maybe my phone battery’s been dying from overuse—it just suddenly went dead…”

“I know I messed up this time. Mistakes deserve punishment. You can punish me however you want.”

While Bo Jin drifted into a daze, lost in some unspoken thought, Yuan Shiyuan abruptly stood before him, like a naughty student awaiting his fate.

“Anything you want.” He stood ramrod straight, braced for the blow.

Bo Jin’s gaze drifted from Yuan Shiyuan’s damp, reddened lips to the open collar of his shirt, then down to the plump, bare toes peeking from beneath his pajama pants.

The Alpha’s Adam’s apple bobbed. Suddenly, his long arm shot out, scooping Yuan Shiyuan onto his lap.

“Anything I want?”

“Anything you want.”

Yuan Shiyuan yawned lazily. “Hit me. I won’t fight back.”

“Why would I hit you?”

Being held on Bo Jin’s lap seemed to suit Yuan Shiyuan perfectly. He shifted slightly, found a comfortable position to lean against Bo Jin, and closed his eyes.

As if guessing Bo Jin wouldn’t strike him, he said casually, “If you’re not going to hit me, I’m going to sleep.”

Bo Jin stared in disbelief at Yuan Shiyuan, already nestled in his arms and drifting off. “You’re just going to fall asleep like this?”

He had finally found Yuan Shiyuan, but before they could exchange more than a few words, the younger man was already dozing off against him?

What was he, anyway? Just a tool, a nobody?

“I’m so sleepy,” Yuan Shiyuan mumbled, unable to suppress a yawn.

After a night of frantic temporary marking, Yuan Shiyuan was both exhilarated and exhausted. Lying in another Alpha’s arms, his body instinctively recognized Bo Jin as the one who had marked him.

The lingering pleasure of the marking surged through him, leaving him utterly drained.

Temporary marking is too damn good.

It makes me want an Alpha to bite me every day.

But Yuan Shiyuan knew better than to act on such impulses. Spreading his legs daily just to have an Alpha bite him felt absurd.

Hearing Yuan Shiyuan’s breathing gradually settle into a steady rhythm, Bo Jin’s brow furrowed deeper. Yuan Shiyuan’s head rested against his shoulder, his lips brushing Bo Jin’s neck, each even breath carrying a faint, lingering fragrance.

“Really asleep?”

When Yuan Shiyuan remained silent, Bo Jin reached out and gently pinched his cheek, his knuckles leaving a faint indentation in the soft flesh.

Exhausted beyond measure, Yuan Shiyuan drowsily shook his head, strands of pale pink hair clinging haphazardly to his temples. His swollen lips parted naturally, forming a small pout that revealed the rosy-red interior of his mouth and the tip of his tongue, still bearing the bite mark.

Seeing the distinct bite mark, Bo Jin’s eyes darkened.

So, he thought, how could Ying Mingxi possibly just be chatting with Yuan Shiyuan? Yuan Shiyuan stood him up, went silent all night… it’s obvious Ying Mingxi lured him into “practicing” all night.

Otherwise, why would his lips be swollen like this?

I knew it! Yuan Shiyuan is usually such a well-behaved kid. Why would he suddenly stand me up and ignore my messages? It was Ying Mingxi’s doing all along.

The night was long. Did they really just kiss?

Bo Jin’s gaze darkened further as he lifted Yuan Shiyuan’s shirt. Red finger marks marred the side of his waist. When he pulled down Yuan Shiyuan’s pants, his pupils dilated instantly, anger rising in his eyes.

Where are his underwear?

He’s just… exposed? No protection at all?

“Where are your underwear?” Bo Jin asked, his voice low and strained, teeth clenched.

“Oh yeah, where are my underwear?” Yuan Shiyuan mumbled sleepily, rubbing his cheek against Bo Jin’s jaw. “Brother Bo Jin, help me find them…”

The moment the words left his lips, he drifted back into a deep slumber, completely silent.

“……”

Bo Jin, who had waited up all night, felt no sleepiness, only a throbbing at his temples. Yuan Shiyuan, however, who had spent the night mingling with other Alphas, slept soundly.

Looking further down, Bo Jin saw a patch of delicate pink flesh at the juncture of Yuan Shiyuan’s legs, marked by a clear bite mark.

Damn you, Ying Mingxi.

He’d always known the twins were up to no good, but he never imagined Ying Mingxi would dare go this far!

Yuan Shiyuan was an Alpha himself!

Even if it was preparation for an audition, did he really need to take it this far? Ying Mingxi was clearly acting on ulterior motives, using the audition as an excuse to lay his hands on Yuan Shiyuan.

They were the closest roommates, yet even Bo Jin hadn’t dared to go this far.

Bo Jin didn’t dare dwell on it. What hidden marks might lie beyond his sight?

Suddenly, Bo Jin remembered the fanfiction where he often played the role of a cuckolded husband.

For example, in one scenario, Yuan Shiyuan returned home sated by his teammates, while Bo Jin seethed with impotent rage, too afraid to confront him openly, much less make a scene. Yet his suspicions gnawed at him, driving him to the cowardly act of secretly checking Yuan Shiyuan’s body in the dead of night, gently prying open his sleeping wife’s legs.

The sight of the tender, crimson flesh, clearly overstimulated, filled him with fury and heartache. He cursed his teammates as bastards, demanding how they could treat his wife with such violence…

He used to find it absurd and laughable, but now Bo Jin felt like his head was being held down, forcing him to immerse himself in the scene.

Taking advantage of Yuan Shiyuan’s deep sleep with his head resting on his shoulder, Bo Jin quietly pulled aside the pajama bottoms for a closer look.

How could it be…

So small?

It must be a struggle even to insert a suppository. If it were any larger, Yuan Shiyuan would probably pass out from the pressure, his stomach bulging upward.

As Bo Jin’s thoughts churned, he suddenly noticed a small finger-shaped mark above, mingled with a chaotic jumble of bite marks. Unable to tell whether he felt jealousy or anger, he let out a cold snort.

He then lifted his hand and gently patted the plump skin, now marked with a tooth imprint.

“Ugh?!” Yuan Shiyuan jolted awake, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. His eyes snapped open wide. “What the hell are you doing?!”

“Stop it!!”

Bo Jin hadn’t expected such a light touch to rouse Yuan Shiyuan. His voice strained as he said, “Didn’t you say I could hit you however I wanted?”

“Not there! You can hit me anywhere else… just not there!”

Bo Jin paused, then asked strangely, “You’re okay with me hitting you anywhere else, but not there?”

“Of course!” Yuan Shiyuan replied, his voice firm. “Hitting other places doesn’t hurt much; you wouldn’t use force anyway… But what’s the point of hitting my pigudrum?”

“It’s too A-same! I can’t handle it.”

Bo Jin’s gaze turned strange. “Are you discriminating against A-sames?”

Yuan Shiyuan froze, stunned. He couldn’t believe these words were coming from Bo Jin, a man with “straight-A cancer” so deeply ingrained in his being.

“It’s not that… I respect A-sames, but I’m not one myself.” Still half-asleep and muddled, Yuan Shiyuan began rambling, “I’d rather be stabbed with a knife than be ‘stabbed’ by a brother.”

“Oh? Right, you’re straight-A,” Bo Jin said, a smirk playing on his lips. “But we’re filming intimate scenes soon.”

“After being fucked by an Alpha, will you still be straight-A?”

Yuan Shiyuan was utterly baffled. “We’re just acting, not actually doing it. Of course I’ll still be straight-A.”

He immediately pulled up his pants, his eyes wary. “Brother Bo Jin, you can hit anywhere else—go ahead, beat me up.”

“But I absolutely can’t accept getting hit on my pigudrum. It’s just too weird.”

Bo Jin fell silent, his gaze fixed on Yuan Shiyuan. After a long pause, he drawled, “Oh.”

Only then did Yuan Shiyuan feel safe enough to lean back against the Alpha’s shoulder.

Heavy with drowsiness, his thoughts began to wander again. Why did Bo Jin suddenly act so shockingly? Isn’t he deeply A-phobic? Logically, he should avoid anyone’s pigudrum like the plague.

So why did he actually hit it?

Yuan Shiyuan didn’t overthink it.

Bo Jin had probably just acted on a whim, giving him a few casual pats with no real intent. Besides, hadn’t Bo Jin agreed to stop touching his pigudrum later?

Little did Yuan Shiyuan know that not long after falling asleep, the pajama pants he’d just pulled up were being stealthily pulled down again.

Yuan Shiyuan lay face-down in Bo Jin’s arms, his silk pajamas naturally draping down, accentuating his slender waist. Bo Jin only had to lower his head to follow the curve of Yuan Shiyuan’s waist downward, revealing the exaggerated, smooth contours of his hips.

Above those curves, the glaring finger marks and the fresh, unfaded bite marks stood out starkly.

Bo Jin let out a cold laugh.

Refuses to be touched by me, yet accepts being gnawed on by another Alpha?

A tidal wave of sour jealousy and complex emotions surged through him. Bo Jin considered biting down to cover the original bite marks, but he knew Yuan Shiyuan’s pigudrum was exceptionally sensitive.

Even the gentle pats earlier had instantly jolted Yuan Shiyuan awake. If he were to actually bite down, Yuan Shiyuan would probably leap up on the spot.

His frustration reached its peak.

Taking advantage of Yuan Shiyuan’s deep slumber, Bo Jin pressed his fingers against the soft flesh. The skin was so tender that his fingertips sank deep, as if swallowed by the flesh.

As he spread his fingers apart, pale, untouched skin was forced into the open air.

Under his intense gaze, Xiao Xue pitifully opened and closed her mouth, helplessly gulping at the air.

Anger, jealousy, bitterness—all were banished from Bo Jin’s mind.

He watched her, spellbound, yet his fingers, acting against his will, slowly slid inward.

His finger fit snugly into the crevice, creating the illusion of being completely enveloped. The overwhelmingly comfortable sensation made the Alpha stiffen, his entire body tense, afraid to move even an inch.

A light nip at his fingertip.

Yuan Shiyuan, lost in slumber, remained blissfully unaware, only murmuring softly in his sleep. So deeply asleep was he that his knees unconsciously drew together, rubbing rhythmically against the Alpha’s hip.

Bo Jin grew even stiffer, his reaction nearly spiraling out of control.

S-rank pheromones erupted uncontrollably, making his body burn with heat and even begin to ache.

He lowered his head, gazing at the defenseless Yuan Shiyuan in his arms. Beneath strands of pale pink hair, the young man’s cheeks flushed faintly, the corners of his eyes shimmering with dampness.

The S-rank pheromones surged even more violently, carrying a dangerous, aggressive intensity. They enveloped Yuan Shiyuan tightly, mingling with the boy’s sweet, intoxicating scent…

Feeling the moist warmth on his fingertip, Bo Jin suddenly questioned himself with unprecedented intensity—

Am I… really still a straight Alpha?
