Chapter 46 Global Ambassador!

“I want to be the mistress.”

Ying Mingche said it flatly and decisively, his words coming so quickly it was as if he feared someone else would grab the role first. Meeting the group’s surprised looks, he showed no embarrassment—instead he seemed almost proud. “What? The mistress role is so compelling.”

Yuan Shiyuan couldn’t help glancing at him twice. “I’ve never seen anyone rush to play the mistress before.”

Jiang Heng tugged at the corner of his mouth. “You have a mistress kink, huh.”

“What do you guys know?”

Ying Mingche was unconcerned. He suddenly leaned in toward Yuan Shiyuan, draped an arm over Yuan Shiyuan’s shoulders, and pulled him gently closer. Almost against Yuan Shiyuan’s ear he said, “What’s interesting about being the official boyfriend? If I can seduce you even though you already have a boyfriend, that proves my charm better—shows that I’m the one you love more, right?”

“What’s stolen is the best.”

Yuan Shiyuan looked up in surprise.

He had thought Ying Mingche was joking, but it turned out Ying Mingche was serious.

“Brother Zhuang.” Ying Mingche suddenly seemed to remember something and offered a high-minded suggestion about the mistress role, “Why don’t we ask the director to make the mistress a twin?”

“Two mistresses, and twins—wouldn’t that be even more exciting?”

Whether he could get that mistress spot was still uncertain. But if the director specifically wanted twins as the mistresses, wouldn’t that be a de facto guarantee for him?

Even if he had to bring his brother packaged with him, it was better than being rejected.

Five compete for two spots; the chosen ones would be the lead’s partner and the mistress, while the loser would be the clown. Ying Mingche knew which were preferable.

“Do you know?” Zhuang He wore an expression that was hard to read. “The director really likes you. He’s watched your livestreams and variety show clips and said you have a unique ‘mistress aura.'”

To say an Alpha has a mistress aura—was that praise or an insult? Zhuang He was stunned on hearing it; he had almost decided not to mention it.

Ying Mingche thought for a moment. “Is that a compliment?”

“Hahahahaha.” Yuan Shiyuan, who had been a little nervous, suddenly burst out laughing. “What on earth are you proud of?”

Zhuang He turned back to Yuan Shiyuan. “The director also said you look too well-behaved, too naive—your teammates need to help you be developed a bit.”

“…”

Yuan Shiyuan froze.

Developed?

That wording made it sound like they were going to shoot something.

Yuan Shiyuan asked, “What kind of role is mine?”

“The lead’s public persona is innocent, but behind closed doors he plays around a lot. It’s not a one-time affair,” Zhuang He said. “The director only gave part of the script. Wait here, I’ll get it.”

While Zhuang He fetched the script, Yuan Shiyuan ran through it in his head and discussed with his teammates.

It shouldn’t be that hard, right?

How explicit could it really get? After all, it had to air on TV.

Yuan Shiyuan watched TV dramas sometimes; the bedroom and kissing scenes that made it to broadcast were intimate but not extreme.

He gradually braced himself.

As long as it’s not real sex, he could accept it.

“The script’s here. There’s only one copy. Glance through it—it’s not long.”

“We can take turns.”

Yuan Shiyuan skimmed quickly and began to piece together the plot.

On the surface he’s the obedient, good kid everyone sees; he even had a first love from high school through university. But he actually has a cross-dressing fetish. The dutiful boyfriend gives him a sweet, loving relationship but can’t give him excitement.

By day he’s the well-behaved lover in conservative shirts; by night he changes into sexy dresses completely different from his daytime look and cheats with different people.

But he has a regular bed partner; the person he cheats with is completely different from his boyfriend in temperament—uninhibited and more adventurous. He begins to crave that thrill, and falls for the feeling of the affair itself.

At first, their meetings were purely private; they agreed on rules—no interference with real life. But his ruthless attitude stirred his bed partner’s desire to conquer, and that partner gradually discovered they had fallen in love.

The bed partner started plotting to replace the other man, deliberately testing and seducing him.

The secret trysts gradually shifted to his own home—on the bed he once shared with his boyfriend, even in the same covers that still smelled like his boyfriend. Whenever his attention wandered, he would glance toward the nightstand and see his boyfriend smiling at him from the framed photo.

The illicit pleasure made him tense and, at the same time, even more… excited.

The boyfriend, naturally attentive and gentle, soon noticed telltale signs around the house. For example, unused condoms in a corner, traces that hadn’t been cleaned up in time, and strange marks that kept appearing on him.

The boyfriend knew he was a good, obedient person; the reason he was slipping up and bringing someone home had to be that he’d been tempted and seduced.

The boyfriend trusted the years they’d spent together and sincerely wanted to marry him.

But he grew increasingly confused amid these tugging emotions.

The bed partner who satisfied novelty and excitement, the long-term boyfriend who’d become routine—caught between them, he greedily realized he wanted both…

“Something like that,” Zhuang He said. “Although the director only gave part of the script, from this excerpt it’s obvious that the plot is driven almost entirely by intimate scenes.”

He looked at Yuan Shiyuan’s stunned, blank-faced expression. “So in each episode you’re either being affectionate with your boyfriend or sneaking around with the bed partner.”

The office fell so silent you could hear a pin drop.

Yuan Shiyuan sat in a daze; he could keenly feel several heated gazes fixed on him.

Ying Mingche was the first to break the silence. “This is kind of difficult.”

“You’re all Alphas—this kind of role is naturally difficult,” Zhuang He said. “So you’ll have to ‘practice’ properly.”

“Shiyuan, what do you think?”

Yuan Shiyuan sighed. “It is a bit difficult.”

“The romance parts shouldn’t be too hard, right?” Zhuang He mused. “You look like a school-heartthrob type—surely you’ve had plenty of relationships growing up?”

“I’ve had personal experience; that makes it easier to act,” another offered.

Unfortunately, Yuan Shiyuan shook his head. “I’ve never been in a relationship.”

The office fell silent.

Even though Bo Jin and the others had heard Yuan Shiyuan say this before, they couldn’t help but be surprised. No one could reconcile “never been in a relationship” with a face that attracted so many admirers.

Yuan Shiyuan sat quietly on the sofa; when he answered, his expression was obedient and innocent.

But he was supposed to play a role walking the tightrope between boyfriend and bed partner—showing intimate, passionate love with his boyfriend while also having fiery, secret encounters with the mistress, creating a stark contrast.

The difficulty was enormous.

Yuan Shiyuan could accept intimate scenes. He had imagined a whole episode would consist of kisses on cheeks or mouths, maybe holding hands. At most, at night he and the “boyfriend”/“bed partner” would lie in bed hugging or snuggling.

After all, with the quilt between them, nothing explicit would be filmed, and certainly none of the real thing would be required.

But judging by the current script, Yuan Shiyuan realized he had been naive. How could a TV drama have a protagonist who’s practically doing it from start to finish?

Is the craving really that intense?

“You’ve never been in love?” Zhuang He was genuinely surprised. “I really didn’t expect that.”

After all, his looks were so striking that wherever he went he’d attract a swarm of admirers—hardly the sort of person with no romantic experience.

“It’s fine, take your time.”

Zhuang He also felt his head ache—six members in a boy group, and not a single one had been in a relationship. Now there was truly no one inside the group to give guidance; they’d have to feel their way forward step by step.

He reassured them, “There’s still more than a month before the audition. Right now it’s only internal news—the director is worried about scheduling conflicts later, so he wants to sign contracts in advance. Use this time to practice together every day; you’ll find the right feeling.”

“And don’t cut your hair. Your role has mid-length shoulder hair that can be tied up.” Zhuang He roughly indicated Yuan Shiyuan’s hair length with his hand. “A bit longer would be better.”

Yuan Shiyuan had no objection.

He flipped through the script again; the black text seemed to grow more sordid the longer he read.

“I’m really curious.”

Yuan Shiyuan had only skimmed before, but after reading it carefully this time his fingertips curled slightly.

He looked up; the tips of his ears had flushed a faint red. “Is this the uncut version? If they shoot it exactly like this, can it even be aired?”

“Of course it can be aired. It won’t look as dirty on screen.”

“The director is an omega who loves a poetic aesthetic and has very high standards for actors’ looks. He appreciates our group’s visuals, so even if you don’t get the other two roles at audition, you might still get screen time.”

When Zhuang He chatted with the director about the script, the director had accidentally revealed the latter part. Zhuang He recalled, “Later the boyfriend completely breaks down—apparently because someone sent him a video. In the video, Shiyuan is dressed in women’s clothing, kissing other alphas, even stuffing hands under the skirt. The boyfriend’s eyes went red; he never expected that the shy, inexperienced person in front of him would be like that with others…”

As a middle-aged man, Zhuang He felt embarrassed even narrating those scenes and glossed over them, “Anyway, there are also cannon-fodder shots of people kissing Shiyuan, but those scenes are brief.”

“You all have a chance.”

Silence reigned.

“Huh? So each of us has a chance to kiss Princess Yuanyuan?” Ying Mingche was the first to catch on; he exclaimed in disbelief, “Isn’t that getting the best deal ever?”

All the alphas instinctively glanced at Yuan Shiyuan.

Yuan Shiyuan might not even have noticed himself; after finishing the script his posture shifted from casually relaxed to awkwardly tense.

His knees were tightly pressed together, his toes barely touching the floor, his brow slightly furrowed and his expression dazed with a trace of shock, as if questioning his life choices.

His skin was very fair, making his slightly parted lips look wet, red, and soft. Even though they were all alphas, at the thought of the possible intimate scenes they all agreed with Ying Mingche’s comment.

Indeed, it would be quite a score.

“Don’t celebrate too soon. With your current situation, don’t even think about nailing the audition—you’re not even guaranteed cannon-fodder status,” Zhuang He doused their excitement, looking kindly at Yuan Shiyuan. “Also, Shiyuan, if you want to perform well during filming, it’ll be really difficult. The company will arrange classes for you, but classes are just classes…”

“To get real results, you’ll have to work on it elsewhere.”

Yuan Shiyuan did not deny it—acting was indeed his weak point, especially in romance.

“I can overcome it.” Once he made up his mind to do something, he was determined to do it well. He looked at the other S-rank alphas. “I know acting with the same sex is hard to accept, but can we overcome it together?”

Bo Jin asked, “How do we overcome it?”

It was a tough question.

Yuan Shiyuan thought for a moment. “Words alone won’t do—we need action. Since we’re going to shoot intimate scenes that involve physical contact… let’s start by gradually increasing physical contact in our daily lives.”

“If you get used to physical contact, your audition will be easier; at least you won’t have a rejection reaction to another male body.” He felt his idea made sense.

Jiang Heng: “The physical contact in the script isn’t ordinary physical contact.”

Not just unusual—it’s completely invasive, all the way in.

Yuan Shiyuan felt a bit embarrassed, and oddly relieved.

Luckily it’s not inserting needles.

As long as they don’t check with the real thing, he could accept it.

Yuan Shiyuan relaxed at once. “Let’s start with something simple, then increase the intensity step by step. If we desensitize slowly, we’ll eventually be able to handle the intimate scenes.”

He said it very seriously; his expression made it look less like a discussion about filming intimate scenes and more like solving a difficult math problem.

He himself didn’t think there was anything wrong, but the looks all the alphas were giving him were inexplicably heated. With so many alphas staring and a high-intensity script sitting in front of him, every exchanged glance felt strange.

Ying Mingxi offered a final summary: “So you want us to start with ordinary hand-holding and hugs? Once we’re familiar with each other’s bodies, we gradually raise the level.”

“Simple kisses, French kissing, and finally, simulate intercourse.”

Yuan Shiyuan’s eyes widened in an instant; he stared in disbelief, unable to accept that such lewd words came from the mild-mannered Ying Mingxi.

Ying Mingxi helpfully added, “Just simulated.”

Yuan Shiyuan wasn’t entirely sure: “Is that… right?”

His reasoning wasn’t wrong, was it?

They couldn’t possibly jump straight to bed scenes to get used to it; there had to be a process, otherwise he couldn’t accept it.

Ying Mingxi’s gaze landed on Yuan Shiyuan’s face; it was the look of someone who inwardly couldn’t accept it but was forcing calm and trying to persuade himself.

His ear rims were slightly reddened, knees tightly together, fingers unconsciously clutching the throw pillow, knuckles curling and then relaxing.

Yuan Shiyuan seemed to always like to grasp something when he was nervous, Ying Mingxi thought to himself.

At that moment, Ying Mingche suddenly leaned close to Yuan Shiyuan, breathing without warning by his ear: “So we’ll start practicing with hand-holding?”

The pads of his fingers brushed the back of Yuan Shiyuan’s hand, hooking his fingertips, “Like this?”

Yuan Shiyuan was ticklish; he reflexively flinched backward, but his back unexpectedly bumped into Jiang Heng’s chest.

“Already starting?” Jiang Heng instinctively supported Yuan Shiyuan’s side, helping him sit steady. “Is this a hug?”

The unforeseen development left Yuan Shiyuan stunned.

He was moved by Bo Jin to the other side of the couch, with Bo Jin’s cold warning at his ear: “You’re still discussing—don’t get handsy.”

“Especially you, Ying Mingche.”

Ying Mingche shrugged.

“Okay, I understand.” Ying Mingxi was the first to speak up; he said gently, “I’ll cooperate fully.”

“I have no problem either,” the other alphas said in unison.

“Then we’ll put you through the trouble, Shiyuan.”

Ying Mingxi sat beside Yuan Shiyuan and placed the script on his lap. As he left, the pad of his finger lightly brushed the hand clutching the throw pillow.

“During the day, we’re normal teammates. At night, treat us as lovers, or clandestine bed partners.”

Having reached consensus with everyone, Yuan Shiyuan finally exhaled.

This counts as… solved, right?

Although the plan was a bit outlandish, they really couldn’t think of a better way. All of them had been single since birth; never mind filming intimate scenes, they would probably be clueless even on ordinary romantic dates.

Yuan Shiyuan didn’t want to treat his first project perfunctorily; he hoped the whole team could pass the audition. If his teammates failed, he might have to film kissing scenes, bed scenes, and other intimate moments with Necro members or other strangers.

Anyway, since we have to film it, it’s better to do it with brothers I trust. Yuan Shiyuan comforted himself like that, without noticing that every Alpha’s eyes held undercurrents of meaning.

“As long as you’ve discussed it, that’s fine. There’s plenty of time to practice.”

Zhuang He looked at Yuan Shiyuan and felt a headache coming on. “It’s going to be hard on Shiyuan—he’s the one who has to desensitize for so many people.”

He sighed, clinging to the last shred of consolation. Fortunately the teammates were all S-rank; maybe Yuan Shiyuan could take the opportunity during rehearsals to soak up some pheromones.

Wasn’t that what the doctor said? Yuan Shiyuan should have more contact with S-rank alphas—this was a ready-made opportunity.

Two birds with one stone.

“You all go out first. I need to speak to Shiyuan alone.”

After the others left, only Yuan Shiyuan and Zhuang He remained in the office. Zhuang He immediately brought up the matter. “While you’re doing desensitization training, have them release more pheromones. They’ll definitely do it.”

Yuan Shiyuan opened his mouth, then closed it, his face drooping as he said, “Okay.”

If he wanted their pheromones, he didn’t actually need the desensitization practice—they would give them anyway. And what he ultimately needed wasn’t just to smell pheromones.

Zhuang He’s reminder made Yuan Shiyuan suddenly remember: he had a time bomb on him—heat.

When Yuan Shiyuan had been an ordinary Alpha before, he naturally had physiological responses, but overall it was manageable. He had never been overwhelmed by it.

He now had to think seriously about one question.

If he were still an Alpha, he could desensitize however he liked, even stripping down would be no big deal. But now he was an Omega who urgently needed S-rank alpha pheromones, and they were highly compatible…

What if he got addicted to inhaling pheromones and turned into a sex-crazed monster, doing terrible things to his teammates?

Yuan Shiyuan’s head spun, but he optimistically thought it wouldn’t be that bad.

He was currently drinking pheromone extract on a schedule every day, touching his glands when needed, and occasionally having an S-rank Alpha release extra pheromones for him—life was pretty comfortable.

He didn’t have to rely on Big Orange Slice to feed him pheromones, right?

“I’m still worried. If they smell your pheromones and their animal instincts flare up, the five alphas could surround you…” Zhuang He pictured the scene and felt his scalp tingle and his spine chill. “No no no, can’t let that happen. Absolutely not!”

“They won’t. I won’t let them smell my pheromones.” Yuan Shiyuan smiled proudly, the corners of his eyes lifting slightly with confidence. “I can completely control my pheromones.”

Yuan Shiyuan had very strong control over his pheromones. If he wanted, he could contain them entirely, without any leakage, like a Beta.

And what was Zhuang He worried about anyway? Worried the other S-ranks would take turns feeding him a big helping?

That would thrill him to death.

A large, concentrated dose of pheromones delivered on a silver platter would go straight to the stomach and solve the urgent problem between Yuan Shiyuan’s legs.

If Yuan Shiyuan’s tolerance were a bit higher and he was willing to let go of his boundaries, that plan could actually work.

Consider it like getting an injection in the butt—what difference would it make where the needle went?

But Yuan Shiyuan ultimately couldn’t get past that mental barrier.

He had differentiated into an Alpha at ten years old. Even after a secondary differentiation, Alpha identity had taken root in his bones.

Yuan Shiyuan was a one-hundred-percent straight Alpha; he couldn’t accept the other side of being an Alpha living in his body.

At that moment, there was a stir at the door.

“What’s happening?” Zhuang He asked, puzzled. “I’ll go take a look.”

Yuan Shiyuan stood with him and heard persistent knocking at the door. A voice mixing some English with not-quite-fluent Chinese sounded outside.

“I want to meet Yuan Shiyuan in person!”

It was Pierre, the head of Silence’s luxury brand headquarters.

Yuan Shiyuan froze. “What is he doing here?”

Zhuang He felt his head split in two. “He was really eager to work with you, but the contract he sent listed your information as Alpha. I agonized over it for a long time and still declined.”

Of course Zhuang He wanted to accept—this was Silence!

If he had signed Yuan Shiyuan, Yuan Shiyuan would be the first Huaguo ambassador and could be promoted to brand ambassador after the trial period.

But the contract specified Yuan Shiyuan’s gender as Alpha.

And Yuan Shiyuan was now an Omega.

Zhuang He could have simply taken the deal, but what then? What if something went wrong later? Would Yuan Shiyuan be stuck owing an astronomical breach-of-contract penalty?

He couldn’t sacrifice long-term safety for short-term gain.

“I need to think of some excuse for this…” Zhuang He was frantic.

“I’ll handle it.” Before he finished, Yuan Shiyuan opened the door.

Pierre, who had started out visibly angry, seemed to hit the pause button the moment he saw Yuan Shiyuan.

His heart raced; he quickly turned his back to adjust his collar and hair, then checked his appearance with his phone’s front camera. Only after confirming he looked presentable did he turn back around with a gentlemanly air.

The Western man’s voice dropped deliberately low, sounding husky and magnetic. “Mr. Yuan, I didn’t expect you to be here. I apologize for my earlier rudeness.”

“I’m sorry to meet you like this.”

Behind Pierre, the staff looked flustered.

Yuan Shiyuan gave them a reassuring expression and stepped aside, his tone calm. “Mr. Pierre, if you have something to discuss, let’s sit down.”

Upon receiving the invitation, Pierre felt like he was walking on clouds. Staring up close at that perfect face, he couldn’t help but think God was partial.

He watched the pink-haired alpha pour him water and, half-flattered and flustered, stood up: “I’ll—I’ll get it myself…”

“Mr. Yuan, Silence genuinely wants to cooperate with you.” After sitting, Pierre asked eagerly, “Could you tell me why you turned us down?”

Yuan Shiyuan glanced at Zhuang He, then looked at Pierre. “Because of force majeure.”

“We can overcome any difficulty together!”

“I’m afraid…this can’t be overcome.” Yuan Shiyuan met his gaze. “You require the brand ambassador to be an Alpha, right?”

Pierre froze. “The contract did list your gender, but aren’t you—”

“That’s precisely the problem.” Yuan Shiyuan spoke plainly. “I’ve differentiated into an Omega now. I’m no longer an Alpha.”

Silence fell.

Pierre’s hand shook so hard he barely noticed his cup tilting.

Zhuang He widened his eyes, grabbed Yuan Shiyuan, and hissed, “You just said it like that?”

“If he kept pestering us, that’s not a solution either,” Yuan Shiyuan murmured. “And Pierre seems like a decent person—he probably won’t blab, right?”

The company had done business with Pierre before; he wasn’t known to be overly talkative and generally had good discretion. Still, announcing a secondary differentiation in front of him was a big risk.

Just as they thought the collaboration was dead, Pierre’s pupils contracted, then he let out a long breath. “Is it just because of that?”

“Mr. Yuan, Mr. Zhuang, please don’t scare me.”

Yuan Shiyuan said seriously, “We really didn’t lie to you.”

“Alright, even if it’s true, it doesn’t matter.” Pierre clearly wasn’t bothered by the secondary differentiation; he swallowed hard and looked at Yuan Shiyuan with increasing heat. “If you’ve truly differentiated into an Omega, all the more reason for us to pursue a collaboration.”

Yuan Shiyuan blinked slightly.

“Gender isn’t important to us at Silence, and it has never been our deciding factor. Your secondary differentiation actually aligns with our brand philosophy—we believe all genders are equal. We would never cancel our intention to work with you because of that.”

“The contract we prepared earlier included very detailed personal information for Mr. Yuan Shiyuan; that was meant to show our respect and the value we place on you, not to be restrictive!”

“We never expected it would give you this kind of misunderstanding…”

Yuan Shiyuan stood there stunned. He watched the Western man slowly rise and give him a gentlemanly bow.

“Thank you for trusting me like this. I will keep your secret.” Pierre’s gaze was full of sympathy. “You must have suffered a lot with the secondary differentiation, right?”

Pierre had never expected that Yuan Shiyuan’s reason for refusing would be his gender.

That Yuan Shiyuan considered himself not to meet the contract’s requirements after differentiating into an Omega and therefore chose to refuse. What surprised Pierre even more was that Yuan Shiyuan directly gave up such a close-to-hand top-tier opportunity instead of hiding his gender to get by.

In an entertainment industry full of lies and fakeness, here was someone so honest. That pure honesty made Pierre even more determined to cooperate.

But Yuan Shiyuan worried that Pierre might be acting on impulse.

He hesitated a moment before choosing his words: “Mr. Pierre, you should go back and think it over carefully. It’s not too late to change your mind.”

“The previous idea of a brand ambassador was to give us a chance to get to know each other,” Pierre said seriously, his voice trembling with excitement, “but I have indeed changed my mind.”

Neither Yuan Shiyuan nor Zhuang He was surprised—being rejected would have been the more logical outcome.

Then, in the next second, Pierre smiled at him, his tone more earnest than before.

“I sincerely invite Mr. Yuan Shiyuan, as an Omega, to become Silence’s global ambassador!”

“At the same time, we will launch a personal collaboration line between you and Silence. This is the greatest sincerity we can offer; I hope you will reconsider.”

Clack—

The phone Zhuang He was holding dropped to the floor and the screen shattered instantly. His face twitched in shock as he raised his voice in disbelief: “What did you say?!”

Global ambassador!

Author’s Note:

Little Yuan had three first kisses: a kiss on the cheek, a kiss on the lips, and only lastly a French kiss (Translation note: the literal expression indicates sticking out the tongue).
