Pretending to Be an Alpha in an All-Alpha Boy Band - Chapter 23
Chapter 23 Watching a Movie
Yuan Shiyuan, stuck in the middle, felt like a helpless little cookie. He shifted slightly, and both S-ranks immediately looked down.
“You two are crowding me,” Yuan Shiyuan said helplessly.
The two S-ranks exchanged a look, then each took half a step back.
The little cookie finally had room to move: “What a coincidence, hahahaha.”
He forced a smile. “Are you guys here for the Night-quiet test too?”
“Brother Zhuang asked me to do it,” Pei Yanbing said. “He said he didn’t trust you.”
That was true… After all, Yuan Shiyuan was the troublemaker; he supported Pei Yanbing doing the full check.
And Jiang Heng? Yuan Shiyuan glanced downward in a subtle way. “Are you here for the pre-marriage check?”
Jiang Heng paused, then said, “I have a deficiency in pheromone perception and am allergic to most Omegas’ pheromones. The doctor suggested I get tested regularly.”
He added, “I’ve never been in a relationship, and I’ve never had sex.”
If he hasn’t even had a partner, why would he need a pre-marriage exam?
Yuan Shiyuan was just joking to ease the awkwardness.
He hadn’t been with Scepter long, but he had mostly gotten familiar with the team members, especially Bo Jin, Ying Mingche, and Ying Mingxi.
The two in front of him were precisely the ones he’d had the least contact with.
At the same time, they were also the quietest and worst at small talk.
“Do you want to go in first?” Yuan Shiyuan steered the topic back. “There are only two rooms. I’ll wait for you to finish, then go in.”
“You’re getting tested too?” Jiang Heng asked. “Then why don’t you go in?”
“The semen collection room can fit multiple people.”
Thanks, stranger. He’d just been handed a deathly choice.
So which room should he enter to seem fair?
No matter who he went in with, it would look like he was excluding the other. Yuan Shiyuan thought for a moment and, convinced he’d found a brilliant idea, tried, “How about… the three of us go together?”
The two S-rank Alphas looked over; their eyes seemed to hold meaning.
Yuan Shiyuan offered a reasonable justification: “Anyway, the collection room is public. If we go together, it’s conserving shared resources.”
The Alphas didn’t refuse.
Inside the collection room, the atmosphere became even more delicate.
No one pulled down their pants, no one watched videos, no one used toys, no one made a move.
It was unbearably quiet.
Yuan Shiyuan sat between the two of them, feeling like a mace had been stuffed under him—unable to sit still. He regretted suggesting going together, but two minutes had already passed; he couldn’t take it back.
He could understand why they hadn’t acted though; it’s weird to get intimate with people you know…
Yuan Shiyuan straightened his back and silently observed his surroundings.
Every corner was very clean; the iPad on the chair back still showed the home screen—probably, like Pei Yanbing, he’d become a statue as soon as he entered the room.
It was a bit warm, so Yuan Shiyuan took off his jacket.
As he turned to hang it behind him, his waist revealed a graceful curve. The hem of his shirt rode up, exposing a sliver of pale lower back and a small, flushed red mole resting in the hollow of his right waist.
The two S-rank Alphas sitting on either side turned their heads in unison.
Two waves of S-rank pheromones spread through the air.
It was the first time Yuan Shiyuan had smelled Jiang Heng’s pheromones; it felt novel, and he tilted his head to sniff.
The scent was odd—somewhat tart, but pleasant—mixing fresh fruity notes with a faint alcoholic tang.
Blended with Pei Yanbing’s pheromones, it gave the impression of a chilled cocktail.
It actually smelled refreshing.
“Is your pheromone like alcohol?” Yuan Shiyuan asked.
Jiang Heng: “Hmm, Cabernet Sauvignon.”
So it really was wine. Yuan Shiyuan said, “It actually smells pretty nice.”
The air pressure behind them suddenly dropped, and the temperature chilled. Yuan Shiyuan turned his head and saw Pei Yanbing staring down at the small handkerchief in his hands.
He hurried, “Captain, your pheromones smell good too.”
Pei Yanbing: “Your pheromones smell good as well.”
Yuan Shiyuan: “I haven’t released any pheromones yet.”
Pei Yanbing, who had finally found a topic to talk about: “……”
“I’ll release them now.”
Yuan released his own pheromones.
The S-rank pheromones spread—gentle, yet overwhelmingly dominant, like water that could envelop everything.
Jiang Heng: “The scent I smelled just now… wasn’t your pheromone?”
That fragrance was exceptionally distinctive, with no hint of aggression; it was like morning dew on the tips of branches at dawn—pure and soft.
“No,” Yuan said. “My pheromones don’t have a scent.”
“How could they not have a scent…”
Up until now, the two S-rank Alphas had been sure that fragrance belonged to Yuan. But on second thought, that didn’t hold up to scrutiny.
That aroma carried no hint of same-sex rejection. Instead, it had a subtle hook—faint but like an invisible thread pulling at their thoughts, making them yearn.
The atmosphere eased a little, but still no one began to work with their hands.
Yuan glanced left and right and said, “I heard from an older guy that you two have been in here a long time and still haven’t started…”
“Is there some difficulty? If there’s a problem, say it out loud—everyone can help think of a solution.”
“Do you want me to start now?” Jiang Heng tilted his head; the silver earring at his ear flashed coldly under the light.
That earring flashed strangely. Yuan encouraged him: “We’re already here—just get started!”
Jiang Heng stared at him, then turned his face away: “I don’t have a problem. Captain, you go first.”
“Right, you are the captain.” Yuan looked at Pei Yanbing. “You should go first.”
Pei Yanbing: “……”
“Want me to help you?”
Jiang Heng suddenly looked at Yuan; Pei Yanbing froze as well.
Yuan, being thoughtful: “Playing a movie might put you in the mood.”
The iPad, long idle, was finally turned on. Sandwiched in the middle, Yuan found the three of them watching the same screen.
The footage had just begun; it was still in the plot stage—no clothes off—and the two S-ranks turned their heads away.
Yuan: ?
Was he the only one watching? That’s awkward!
The plot was a bit cliché: a pretty young married Omega brings lunch to her husband’s company and ends up attracting the attention of her husband’s boss. During a lunch break in the lounge, the husband has just finished the lunch she brought, then—while acting like a soundly sleeping husband—falls into a deep sleep…
The husband’s boss enters the room.
And has lunch with the young married Omega.
When the young wife appeared, Yuan stole a couple more glances.
Pei Yanbing: “You like this type?”
“Huh?” Yuan almost didn’t register the question; he nodded, “Very cute.”
Jiang Heng: “You’re cute too.”
Yuan, speechless: “That’s not the same.”
Yuan was puzzled—if they weren’t watching the movie, why were they watching him so much?
Were they finding him more stimulating than the film? It made no sense.
Still, this gentle, homely type of little Omega had always been Yuan’s preference.
He liked gentle people, who could have small tempers—he, as an Alpha, would definitely soothe them—but he didn’t like fighting. If there was a conflict, he wanted them to sit down and talk it through.
Yuan Shiyuan was lost in thought when ambiguous noises suddenly crept into his ears—the movie’s protagonists were finally getting to the good part.
The atmosphere grew even more awkward.
Sandwiched in the middle, Yuan Shiyuan had two taciturn S-rank Alphas on either side. Their hands rested on the armrests beside him, their fingers brushing his knuckles now and then.
That contact would have been nothing under normal circumstances, but in that moment it felt very strange.
The S-rank pheromones thickened. Yuan felt stifled and a little hot; Pei Yanbing’s pheromones happened to cool him down. Combined with Jiang Heng’s Cabernet Sauvignon scent, the longer he inhaled, the more pleasantly lightheaded he became.
It felt good.
Yuan also felt a little embarrassed; he was young and thin-skinned. The sounds at his ear continued, and with the two Alphas not watching the screen, he didn’t dare look either.
He bowed his head and pretended to be busy, but glanced to the left and his eyes went wide.
Then he looked to the right: ○o○!
Guys? Seriously?
Not taking off their pants and still this eye-catching?
The most important thing… the movie hadn’t even gotten to the main part yet; it was still dawdling through the plot!
“You don’t like this one? Should I turn it off…” As Yuan stood and reached to tap the screen, his right hand instinctively landed on the armrest and accidentally pressed onto Jiang Heng’s hand back above it. His other hand brushed against Pei Yanbing’s wrist.
When Yuan rose and tapped the screen, he bent slightly at the waist. Under the overhead light, the small red mole in the hollow of his lower back showed faintly through his T-shirt.
Pei Yanbing immediately stood as well. “I’ll go to the next room.”
Not long after, Jiang Heng stood up too. He didn’t look at Yuan’s expression; his voice was low: “I’ll wait outside.”
“I’ll come in when you’re ready.”
The video doorbell let them see activity outside: Pei Yanbing had disappeared, and Jiang Heng was standing at the door as if being punished.
Yuan wasn’t worried about anyone suddenly coming in.
Although it was a public space, the rooms were designed with personal privacy well considered.
If someone was inside, an outsider had to press the doorbell; only after the person inside pressed the [Confirm] button and the green light at the door turned on could the outsider enter.
With the others gone, Yuan relaxed. He quickly took off his pants and first checked the area where he’d had the reaction.
It seemed redder…
Yuan’s skin was very fair, making the irritated skin on the inner thigh stand out more.
He stared for a moment and then lightly poked it with his finger. A strong electric shock ran up his coccyx and his mind went blank.
Yuan immediately dared not touch it again.
After he recovered a little, he prepared to get it over with quickly as planned.
But the air still carried the two Alphas’ pheromones—cool, mingled with wine. Yuan felt as if he’d drunk chilled liquor; drunk, his head swam in a haze.
He stood on his tiptoes and unconsciously rubbed against the floor. Before long he leaned into the chair back, breathing in short, small gasps.
After collecting the sample, Yuan wiped himself clean with a tissue and washed his face and hands before going out.
Pei Yanbing’s room next door was still showing a red light.
“Finished?” Jiang Heng, who had been standing at the door, walked over, but stopped when he saw Yuan’s flushed face and the wetness at the corners of his eyes.
Jiang Heng stared at Yuan’s face.
Yuan felt languid all over; he turned to Jiang a beat slowly, his mind moving sluggishly.
“Mm, yeah, finished.” He held the sample in his right hand and tilted his head. “You can come in.”
“……”
“Wait, I forgot to turn on the fresh-air system…”
So the room was still filled with Yuan’s scent.
“The trash bag looks like I forgot to take it too…” Everyone must take the trash bag filled with tissues when they leave.
Yuan Shiyuan was about to go back and deal with the things he’d left when Jiang Heng said, “It’s fine.”
With that, Jiang Heng entered the room.
After Yuan handed in his sample, he sent a message to Jiang Heng and Pei Yanbing. He had something to attend to and would leave first, so he wouldn’t wait for them.
For a long time, there was no reply to the messages.
Yuan Shiyuan guessed they were probably just tied up and couldn’t free their hands.
