Pretending to Be an Alpha in an All-Alpha Boy Band - Chapter 125
Chapter 125: Status
A deafening silence hung in the air.
After what felt like an eternity, Yu Jiao finally found her voice, her words strained as she spoke. “Little Yuan, you don’t have to say such things just to protect them…”
She trailed off, unsure how to continue.
Yu Jiao instinctively assumed this was a lie Yuan Shiyuan had concocted to protect his teammates. Yuan Shiyuan was so young, so well-behaved usually—even juggling one or two partners wouldn’t be beyond the pale.
But five?!
And all of them his teammates, living under the same roof!
“Mom, it’s true.”
The sudden shock left Yuan Shiyuan utterly unprepared to offer a more reasonable explanation. Caught red-handed in a multi-partner situation by his parents, he wanted nothing more than to crawl into a hole and bury himself.
But he knew he had to step up, take responsibility, and, above all, spare his family from worrying about him.
Admitting they were his Alphas seemed more plausible than admitting they were sharing his body and taking turns draining his essence.
At least it wasn’t too debauched.
Right…?
“Otherwise, how would they all have my pheromones on them?” Yuan Shiyuan added in a small voice, stealing a glance at his mother’s stunned expression before quickly averting his gaze.
He happened to meet Yu Sijing’s gaze, his eyes wide with shock.
Yuan Shiyuan silently averted his eyes, the multitude of stares pressing down on him like a physical weight, making it impossible to ignore.
Having dropped this bombshell, he nonchalantly lowered his head to study his fingertips, playing dead once more.
Everyone was stunned.
Even the Alphas behind Yuan Shiyuan, who had been humbly bowing their heads and pleading for forgiveness, suddenly straightened up, their faces glowing with bewildered delight, as if struck by a monumental stroke of luck.
Finally, Yu Jiao managed to confirm, her voice strained: “You mean… all of them? All five of them… are?”
Yuan Shiyuan, awkward and unsure where to put his hands, forced himself to nod.
“…”
“How should I put this?” After a fierce internal struggle, Yu Jiao managed to regain some composure, trying to digest this reality. “Our precious child is so exceptional. Having multiple Alphas… that’s perfectly normal.”
“Indeed,” Father Yu chimed in absently. “It’s… not so bad, really. Just five.”
The attempt to lighten the mood only made the atmosphere even more awkward.
Yu Jiao watched Yuan Shiyuan lower his head, fixated on his toes. His fingers twisted nervously in front of him. Suddenly, she realized she had let her concern cloud her judgment, putting undue pressure on the boy.
But when she saw the empty medicine blister packs in the nearby trash can and remembered Yuan Shiyuan’s age, a surge of anger still flared within her.
“So, all of these… they’re all what they’ve been taking?” she asked, striving to keep her voice calm.
“Mmm-hmm,” Yuan Shiyuan nodded softly.
None of the Alphas spoke. They knew their answers didn’t matter at this moment; Yuan Shiyuan’s attitude was the only thing that mattered.
They never imagined he would actually acknowledge them as his Alphas.
“Auntie, I haven’t taken any,” Ying Mingxi suddenly interjected. Yu Jiao shot him a disapproving look, but he continued politely and clearly, “I had a vasectomy.”
Yu Jiao: “……”
Zhuang He: ??
Yu Jiao was inwardly shocked, but outwardly she maintained a composed facade. “Oh, I see,” she said blandly.
“Since you’re all Little Yuan’s Alphas, it’s all just a misunderstanding.” She paused, her tone softening, though her voice still strained with forced cordiality. “I’m sorry for misunderstanding you earlier and being so rude. If you’re all Little Yuan’s… boyfriends, then you’re all family now.”
She fell silent again, as if even she couldn’t bring herself to finish the sentence. Fortunately, her husband drew her into his arms and took over.
“Then… we won’t disturb you any longer,” Father Yu said.
With that, they began to retreat from the room, as if clearing the venue for the couple to resume whatever they had been doing.
Before leaving, Yu Jiao couldn’t resist looking at her child with concern. “Little Yuan, Mom understands you’re young and eager to try new things… but you need to be careful, protect yourself, okay?”
She feared that Yuan Shiyuan’s thrill-seeking nature might lead him to reckless behavior, potentially putting himself at risk.
Seeing Yuan Shiyuan’s face flush crimson, Father Yu quickly ushered Yu Jiao out of the room.
Yu Sijing remained in the suite, not moving an inch, his gaze fixed intently on Yuan Shiyuan.
After a long moment, Yu Sijing finally approached Yuan Shiyuan.
He whispered in Yuan Shiyuan’s ear, “Don’t indulge them too much. And don’t let them hurt you.”
Though veiled, the Alpha’s words carried a clear implication. Yuan Shiyuan suddenly choked on his own saliva and erupted into a violent coughing fit.
Bo Jin stepped forward to pat Yuan Shiyuan on the back.
Under the watchful gazes of several wary Alphas, Yu Sijing left the room, gently closing the door behind him.
In the corridor, Yu Jiao glanced at Yu Sijing, who seemed lost in thought, and sighed.
“What a pity,” she murmured. “I was hoping Little Yuan would consider you. But now… my son already has a boyfriend, and… more than one, it seems.”
“Indeed,” Father Yu lamented. “We’ve been absent from Little Yuan’s life for so many years. Now that he needs an S-rank alpha… you’re the one we’ve watched grow up, the one we trust most.”
Yu Sijing responded respectfully, “Ultimately, it depends on Little Yuan’s wishes. If he’s unwilling, no one can force him.”
A hint of guilt laced his voice as he added, “I’m sorry. I haven’t done enough, nor am I capable of making him fall in love with me.”
This was undeniably true. Yu Sijing had indeed fallen short.
Recalling the five alphas in the suite, each with a distinct style, all members of the same boy group, spending every day together…
The more Yu Jiao thought about it, the deeper her frown grew. Was the number… a bit excessive?
While Yuan Shiyuan deserved the best the world had to offer, and having multiple partners wasn’t inherently strange, the stark physical disparity between them still made her uneasy.
Zhuang He, still reeling from the revelation that Yuan Shiyuan was the Yu Family’s long-lost young master, was struck by a fresh wave of astonishment as he listened to their conversation.
He had barely recovered from learning Yuan Shiyuan’s true identity when he discovered they were planning to matchmake their adopted son with him?
Soon, something even more shocking occurred.
Yu Sijing pondered for a moment before speaking solemnly, “Little Yuan is still young. It’s perfectly normal for him to want to experiment with different styles and pursue fresh thrills.”
“Perhaps after some time, when the initial excitement fades, he’ll realize that fleeting thrills can’t bring lasting stability.” He smiled, his eyes unusually resolute. “I’ll keep waiting for him, until the day he tires of playing around.”
“I hope that when that day comes, he’ll turn back and look at me.”
Yu Jiao cast an approving glance. “That’s for the best.”
Ever since learning of Yu Sijing’s feelings for Yuan Shiyuan, Yu Jiao had subtly encouraged their pairing, but always on the condition that Yuan Shiyuan himself agreed.
Since Yuan Shiyuan had now chosen someone else, she would never force him to change his mind.
Yu Sijing’s willingness to silently protect and patiently wait, understanding Yuan Shiyuan’s youthful, playful nature, showed admirable restraint and wisdom.
Inside the suite:
Yuan Shiyuan lay curled up on a single sofa, his face hidden behind the script. He remained silent for a long time.
He didn’t speak, and the others dared not make a sound.
After a long moment, Bo Jin tentatively moved closer, feigning casualness. “Want some water?”
Yuan Shiyuan remained silent. He still didn’t want to talk.
He had thought he could maintain the status quo for much longer, but he hadn’t anticipated the reporters’ astonishing resourcefulness. They had somehow managed to capture so many compromising photos.
In the past, he would have simply laughed off those sensationalized headlines, dismissing them as absurd and unworthy of attention.
But now, after repeatedly engaging in intimate exchanges with multiple Alphas…
The scandalous revelations turned out to be painfully true.
“Just leave it there,” Yuan Shiyuan said, his voice flat. He had no interest in drinking water. He picked up his mobile phone and stared at the barrage of messages from Zhuang He, another wave of headache washing over him.
Zhuang He: Is this for real? Are you really with them now?
Zhuang He: Five? You’ve taken in all five of them?!
Zhuang He: Shiyuan’er, tell your Brother the truth. Are they forcing you?
If anything, he was the one forcing them.
If he hadn’t suddenly differentiated, desperately needing S-rank pheromones, and if he hadn’t been so insatiably greedy, why would a perfectly normal straight man like him have preyed on his own teammates…?
How had things spiraled so far out of control?
He used to recoil at the thought of an Alpha touching his pigudrum. Now, not only could he tolerate it, but he had even… accommodated more than one Alpha’s Citrus Lobe.
Yuan Shiyuan sighed silently and replied: Brother Zhuang, no one’s forcing me.
No one could make him do anything he didn’t want to. After a moment’s thought, he asked: What should we do about the leaks online? Do we need to issue a statement?
Zhuang He: We’ll handle it. You don’t need to worry about a thing. As long as there aren’t any high-definition, uncensored photos of you in bed, it’s all small fry.
Zhuang He: You guys didn’t fool around in public, did you? Someone might have taken pictures.
The dance studio, music room, dormitory, his apartment, hotel rooms… those shouldn’t count, right? After all, none of those places had cameras—they’d checked thoroughly many times.
Yuan Shiyuan: …No.
Zhuang He: Good. I was worried Ying Mingche would corrupt you—that kid’s the biggest pervert.
How ironic.
Ying Mingche, the “biggest pervert,” was actually the only Alpha who hadn’t slept with him.
Yuan Shiyuan stared at the chat log and suddenly burst out laughing. The smile quickly faded, replaced by a troubled expression and a growing sense of existential doubt.
After a moment’s hesitation, he asked: What are the netizens saying?
Today was the release date of his new album, and he had intentionally disconnected from the internet, too nervous to check online reviews.
Who could have predicted such a scandal would break?
Zhuang He: “The netizens’ comments are minor issues.”
If it were truly a serious problem, Zhuang He wouldn’t have been so dismissive.
He sent a voice message, briefly explaining the online situation.
Some casual observers believed the company was deliberately stoking hype on the album’s release day to boost sales. After all, Scepter’s CP (couple pairing) was undeniably popular.
Another faction of fans went wild with joy—their CP had actually become real! They frantically saved the reporter’s photos and celebrated wildly on CP forums, cheering, “Our CP is real!”
The final faction consisted primarily of Yuan Shiyuan’s solo fans. These solo fans split into two camps: the die-hard career stans, who fiercely rejected any “vampiric” ties to other members and dismissed the scandal as a publicity stunt; and the infamously notorious Dream Alpha fans.
Their reaction to the scandal was far more intense than any other fan group. They furiously slammed their keyboards, refusing to believe it was true. Many prominent Dream Alpha fan accounts mobilized on forums, meticulously dissecting every photo and video, frame by frame, to “debunk” the evidence.
Videos that appeared to show kissing were simply optical illusions caused by misleading angles.
Dressing in women’s clothing for a date with his teammate was, according to them, just Yuan Shiyuan practicing his role in advance, preparing for his upcoming drama. They were too busy doting on their hardworking “wife” to complain.
As for carrying his teammate’s S-rank pheromone… they simply couldn’t fabricate a plausible explanation. Why would one Alpha carry another Alpha’s pheromone?
So they ignored the issue entirely, pretending they hadn’t seen it, and instead focused on damage control.
The Dream Alpha community, through a kind of collective self-brainwashing, successfully convinced themselves.
Yuan Shiyuan’s private intimacy with his teammate proved he was a kind and gentle person, and their “dates” were purely for the sake of his career!
How could Yuan Shiyuan possibly be in the wrong?
The real culprits were the unscrupulous paparazzi who stalked and photographed him without consent.
The Dream Alpha Fans couldn’t bear to say a harsh word to Yuan Shiyuan. “Unfan him”? That would be like ripping out their hearts! He was their only precious “wife.”
Yet, watching Yuan Shiyuan’s intimate interactions with other Alphas filled them with rage. They redirected their fury, unleashing a torrent of attacks on the media outlets and marketing accounts that had broken the news.
Yuan Shiyuan’s Dream Alpha Fans—his so-called “husband fans”—once again made headlines.
Other discussions failed to stir up much controversy.
Yuan Shiyuan breathed a sigh of relief. He considered checking his album sales, but quickly changed his mind, deciding it was better not to look.
So he wouldn’t get even more nervous.
Yuan Shiyuan put down his phone and curled up on the sofa again, covering his face with the script.
Ying Mingxi stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder, massaging him with just the right amount of pressure. “Shiyuan, don’t be so nervous. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself.”
Feeling the tense muscles under his hand gradually relax, the Alpha casually asked, “You probably don’t need pheromones right now, do you?”
Just moments ago, Yuan Shiyuan had desperately craved them.
Now, he was in no mood whatsoever and answered dismissively, “Maybe next time.”
Neither of them felt regret or disappointment.
Their identities had just been acknowledged by Yuan Shiyuan—a moment more precious than anything else.
Ying Mingche pretended to sit by Yuan Shiyuan’s feet to drink water, but his eyes kept darting toward him.
“Baby, you said earlier…” The other Alphas were waiting for someone else to speak up, but he couldn’t wait any longer. “I’m your Alpha?”
Yuan Shiyuan’s gaze froze on the script. He frowned and looked at him.
“What about me?” Jiang Heng moved closer, his voice filled with cautious anticipation. “Am I your Alpha too?”
Bo Jin’s voice chimed in from the other side, “Are we all?”
Even Pei Yanbing joined the fray.
Those usually cold eyes now burned with unmistakable warmth as he stared intently at Yuan Shiyuan.
“Wait… stop talking about it!”
The embarrassment and shame he had barely managed to suppress surged back instantly. Yuan Shiyuan interrupted, “I made all that up on the spur of the moment! If I hadn’t said that, how could I have convinced my mom so easily and gotten her to drop it?”
“What I said earlier… don’t take it seriously either.”
Yuan Shiyuan had assumed the matter was closed.
On the day of the concert rehearsal, Yuan Shiyuan arrived at the venue early, brimming with excitement.
Spotting his teammates ahead, he enthusiastically raised his hand to greet them, but Jiang Heng was already striding purposefully toward him.
“Little Yuan.”
Jiang Heng glanced around, ensuring no one was watching, before taking Yuan Shiyuan’s hand. His thumb gently stroked the delicate skin of his wrist.
Lowering his voice, a hint of bashfulness in his eyes, he asked, “Am I… really your Alpha?”
Yuan Shiyuan: “?”
Yuan Shiyuan expressionlessly slapped Jiang Heng’s face away, pretending not to have heard the question, and turned to ask the staff about the progress of the supply preparations.
Concerned that fans waiting in line for the concert might get thirsty or overheated, Yuan Shiyuan and his team had arranged for staff to distribute free mineral water, Inhibitors, and Huo Xiang Zheng Qi Water in advance.
Just then, Ying Mingche suddenly materialized from some unseen corner.
He pressed close from behind, his warm chest against Yuan Shiyuan’s back, and covered Yuan Shiyuan’s eyes with his hands.
Just as Yuan Shiyuan assumed Ying Mingche was about to play a childish guessing game, Ying Mingche leaned in close, his thin lips brushing Yuan Shiyuan’s ear, his voice brimming with suppressed excitement.
“Darling, so I really am your Alpha, aren’t I?”
Yuan Shiyuan: “……”
Didn’t we all agree not to take this seriously? When will these guys ever stop?!
Forcing himself to remain calm, Yuan Shiyuan confirmed all the procedures with the staff before immediately turning and sprinting backstage.
After slamming the door shut, he thought he’d finally have a moment’s peace, but a large hand quietly wrapped around his waist, pulling him forcefully into a warm embrace.
Bo Jin lowered his head, his chin resting perfectly on Yuan Shiyuan’s shoulder.
Turning his face slightly, he kissed Yuan Shiyuan’s throat. “Am I…?”
“No!” Yuan Shiyuan snapped, reacting before Bo Jin could finish. “Didn’t we agree not to take this seriously? Why are you all still asking?”
Bo Jin froze for a moment, then chuckled softly. “I was just going to ask if I startled you.”
Seeing Yuan Shiyuan’s expression, Bo Jin immediately guessed what had happened. “What is it? Are the others demanding official recognition from you too?”
Bo Jin seemed genuinely uninterested in dredging up the past.
Only then did Yuan Shiyuan relax, leaning languidly into the Alpha’s embrace. “That was just a spur-of-the-moment thing. How could anyone take it seriously? Besides, who could ever accept sharing…”
“If it were you, could you accept it?” Yuan Shiyuan knew he couldn’t.
“Why not?” Bo Jin pinched Yuan Shiyuan’s chin between two fingers, turning his face to meet his gaze. “Do you remember the male lead and second lead’s choices in the script?”
“I’m the same.”
“Because I love you so deeply, I can’t bear even the slightest possibility of losing you. If you chose someone else, anyone else, it would be an unbearable outcome for me.”
“Then I’d rather accept sharing than lose you altogether.”
Yuan Shiyuan froze, stunned.
Even though he was straight and hadn’t been dating all of them simultaneously—they were still just close brothers helping each other out… he still couldn’t believe that an Alpha as inherently chauvinistic, controlling, and possessive as Bo Jin would make such a significant compromise out of fear of losing him.
Yuan Shiyuan suddenly turned around in Bo Jin’s arms, facing him directly, and wrapped his arms around him.
A wave of emotion surged through his chest, and he was about to say something when Bo Jin pressed his hand against the back of his neck, applying gentle pressure, and spoke again.
“So, are you willing to let me be your Alpha?”
“……”
Yuan Shiyuan remained silent for a long moment, finally burying his flushed face deep into the Alpha’s chest.
Muffled, he said, “We’re just good brothers. Let’s not talk about this.”
“Oh?” Bo Jin chuckled softly. “Are we the kind of ‘good brothers’ who sleep together?”
Yuan Shiyuan didn’t reply, instead pressing his forehead against Bo Jin’s shoulder like a small animal trying to hide its head, nuzzling him slowly and lightly.
Bo Jin lowered his head slightly, catching sight of Yuan Shiyuan’s unnaturally flushed ear tips and the delicate pink dusting his neck.
“I understand now,” Bo Jin said with a knowing smile. He squeezed Yuan Shiyuan’s nape reassuringly before lowering his head to press a warm, gentle kiss against his reddened ear tip.
In a voice only they could hear, he murmured clearly, “Wife.”
