Chapter 80: A Withered Leaf Cuts through the Nascent Soul

“Haha, look! He can’t break the formation and has spit out blood!”

“The Sect Master is incredible! This old guy is so powerful, he must be at the level of a Nascent Soul Old Ancestor. Such supreme beings are tyrants in the Empire, and now he can’t even break our Sect Master’s formation!”

“The Sect Master’s strength must have surpassed the Nascent Soul Realm, right?”

“This golden light barrier brings an overwhelming sense of security!”

The disciples of the Heavenly Dao Sect cheered in unison.

These voices reached the ears of the Supreme Elder of the Lingxiao Sect, making him so furious that he nearly exploded with rage.

“A bunch of ants, shut your mouths in front of me, Old Ancestor!”

He was infuriated, wishing he could tear these disciples apart.

However, no matter how fiercely he attacked or from which direction, he couldn’t budge the formation even a little!

The Heavenly Dao Sect’s formation was unbreakable!

“Damn it!”

Finally, after three more full-force strikes, he stopped, his face showing profound exhaustion.

At this moment, the spiritual energy within him had been depleted by more than half!

He couldn’t steal the Heavenly Dao Sect’s territory!

“I won’t accept this! I won’t accept it!!”

The Supreme Elder of the Lingxiao Sect looked up at the sky, fists clenched, veins bulging, his eyes bloodshot.

“Good! Good!! Good!!!”

“Since that’s the case, don’t blame me for being ruthless!”

“I will bloodily wash through all the cities surrounding your Heavenly Dao Sect!”

“Those who die should not blame me; they should blame your Heavenly Dao Sect for not being able to protect you!”

His gaze was as cold as a knife, his murderous intent palpable.

Turning around, the weapon in his hand emitted a chilling glimmer, sending shivers down spines.

Surrounding the territory of the Heavenly Dao Sect, there were still three cities about the same size as Yunshui City, with a total population exceeding three million!

He intended to slaughter three million humans!

It must be known that even the Immortal Alliance, which views ordinary people as ants, has regulations against large-scale massacres of them.

It’s not that they respect life, nor that they fear rebellion from the lower classes.

In their eyes, these ordinary people are simply not human; they are cattle and horses, mere insects!

The Immortal Alliance is even less afraid of rebellion; they have enough strength to crush any turmoil!

In the face of absolute power, all resistance seems like a joke.

What they fear is that if too many of these lower-class cattle and horses die, they will have fewer subjects to exploit, and the resources they earn will diminish!

Now, however, the Supreme Elder of the Lingxiao Sect disregards this rule and aims to massacre ordinary people on a large scale.

This is a sign of falling into madness!

At the foot of the mountain of the Heavenly Dao Sect, beside a large tree,

a middle-aged man dressed in a plain gray robe had been sweeping the ground.

He looked completely out of place among everyone else, with a bushy beard and unkempt appearance.

While everyone was watching the spectacle during the attack on the sect formation, he hadn’t noticed anything and continued to sweep his own area.

But now, when the Supreme Elder of the Lingxiao Sect spoke of bloodily washing hundreds of miles, he suddenly stopped his movements.

He slightly raised his head to look at the departing Supreme Elder of the Lingxiao Sect. A glimmer of brilliance appeared in his eyes.

Then, with a light sweep of his broom, he lifted a pile of dried yellow elm leaves from the ground. The leaves were swept up into the air, but instead of falling back down, they mysteriously floated higher and higher.

Their initial speed appeared very slow, but in the blink of an eye, they had vanished from sight. When they reappeared, the leaves had already left the Heavenly Dao Sect and appeared in front of the Supreme Elder of the Lingxiao Sect!

The Supreme Elder was preparing to head toward the nearest city to carry out a bloody massacre. Just then, an inconspicuous dry leaf appeared in front of him. This leaf was truly unremarkable; the Supreme Elder merely glanced at it, puzzled as to why the leaf was floating so high, but he didn’t pay it any mind.

He charged forward and casually reached out a hand to swat the leaf away as if it were a fly.

“ hiss!”

A sharp pain shot through him. He looked down and was shocked to see a gaping hole appear on his left arm—the very arm he had just used to swipe at the leaf! It was as if something had silently pierced through his arm!

He suddenly turned back, only to see the leaf, now stained with streaks of blood, heading straight for his brow.

In that moment, a chill surged through him, and a sense of impending death gripped his heart.

An existence so powerful that he couldn’t even dare to imagine had made a move!

He knew nothing, not even that the leaf was abnormal! Even now, he thought this leaf was terrifying, but to the naked eye, it still looked like an ordinary leaf, just another dried leaf that had fallen from a tree!

“Run!”

“Escape!”“Run! Hurry!”

The Supreme Elder of the Lingxiao Sect felt the hair on his body stand on end, alarm bells ringing in his mind. Without hesitation, he sprinted forward.

At the same time, he glanced back as he ran, checking the position of the dry leaf.

What filled him with terror was what he saw! No matter how fast he ran, no matter how slow the leaf seemed to move, the distance between the leaf and the center of his brow was getting closer and closer!

Closer and closer!!

It was bizarre to the extreme! Was it that his speed was too slow? Or was the leaf’s speed too fast?

Finally, after running who knew how far, the Supreme Elder of the Lingxiao Sect stopped, staring blankly ahead.

The nearest city had originally been only fifty miles away. How long had he just been running? At his speed, he could cover over ten miles in a single breath.

Had he really run at least two hundred miles just now? Yet the city remained ahead of him, still fifty miles away!

In other words, the two hundred miles he had just run… was merely treading water!

!!

“This… this…“This….”

The Supreme Elder of the Lingxiao Sect, Zhang, gaped, his pupils wide as saucers.

After eight hundred years of cultivating, he had never encountered such a bizarre event!

However, before he could figure out what was happening, a flicker of withered yellow and blood red light flashed in his eyes.

“Whoosh!”

His body froze, completely paralyzed as if struck by lightning!

“Swish!”

A fissure opened in his brow, and the dry leaf entered through the back of his head, piercing through his brow and penetrating his entire sea of consciousness.

His soul shattered in an instant.

Along with it, his Nascent Soul fell utterly silent.

After hanging motionless in the air for a moment, his body fell helplessly toward the ground.

A single withered leaf had taken the life of a Nascent Soul Realm Old Ancestor!

And that leaf, as if fulfilling its mission, slowly floated down from the sky.

Only the faint blood-red sheen on it told the small, small story of what it had experienced.

Under the big tree of the Heavenly Dao Sect, the middle-aged man in gray robes continued to sweep the falling leaves, completely oblivious to the unusual event.

“Nameless, look, that Nascent Soul Old Ancestor just fell from the sky!”

Beside him, a Fifth Generation Disciple, who looked to be about the same age, spoke to the gray-robed man.

The gray-robed man said nothing. His eyes, which had just briefly glimmered, returned to their murky state.

………..

In Qingzhou, the battle between the Fire Qilin and the Old Ancestor of Lingxiao Sect had come to an end.

The Old Ancestor of Lingxiao Sect, whose face had swollen like a pig, was still laughing heartily. “Su Bai, your Heavenly Dao Sect is probably finished by now!”

Suddenly, as if sensing something, he took out a Life Token from his Storage Ring. This was his Junior Brother’s Life Token; as long as this token existed, it meant his Junior Brother was still alive.

“Crack!”

However, at that moment, the token in his hand suddenly shattered into pieces. Without Su Bai taking action, and with all the Nascent Soul experts of the Empire having gathered, his Junior Brother was dead!
