Chapter 15: The Third Disciple
Su Bai walked over slowly, and when he saw that Xiao Yan was accompanied by a young girl, he paused slightly.
This is getting more interesting!
“Immortal Master, you’re here?”
Suddenly, Xiao Yan spotted Su Bai and a look of excitement spread across his face as he quickly rushed over.
“I came to see who it really is!”
Seeing Xiao Yan approach, Xi’er also turned her gaze in that direction.
Not far away stood a remarkably handsome young man in a white robe.
With his hands behind his back, he wore a moon-white long robe, a jade belt at his waist, his stature tall and upright, the flowing sleeves giving off an air of elegance, as if he were an otherworldly being, like a celestial immortal descending to the mortal realm.
A smile graced his lips, and his eyes sparkled like a galaxy, bright and clear, adorned like the stars in the night sky.
What an exceptional young celestial immortal!
“Uncle Ying, can you see what his cultivation base is?”
She thought to herself, not knowing who she was speaking to.
Moments later, an ancient voice echoed in her mind: “Young lady, I… cannot see through his cultivation.”
“What? Even you can’t see through it, Uncle Ying?”
Her eyes widened in surprise.
She knew very well the strength of Uncle Ying.
Although he wasn’t considered particularly powerful in her family, in the Great Zhao Empire, he was definitely someone at the pinnacle!
If even Uncle Ying cannot see through it, what kind of strength does the Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao Sect really possess?
“Uncle Ying, have you found any information about the Heavenly Dao Sect?” she continued to ask.
“I checked, and throughout the Immortal Alliance, there is no information regarding the Heavenly Dao Sect or Su Bai. Among the hundreds of sects, big and small, in the Great Zhao Empire, there is no mention of the Heavenly Dao Sect; it seems to have emerged out of thin air,” Uncle Ying replied after pondering for a moment.
“Emerged out of thin air?” Xi’er responded in surprise.
With that thought, her suspicions about Su Bai deepened.
Regarding Xiao Yan’s physical condition, she had asked Uncle Ying to investigate quietly, but no conclusion had been reached.
If even Uncle Ying does not know, then there surely cannot be anyone else in the entire Great Zhao Empire who does!
And if they do know, their strength is so remarkable that it should not go unrecorded!
“Immortal Master, this is my distant cousin Xiao Xi’er; she also wants to go to the Heavenly Dao Sect. What do you think, Immortal Master?”
Xiao Yan cautiously looked at Su Bai.
Su Bai glanced at Xiao Xi’er and understood everything in his heart, giving a slight nod.
“Since you wish to go, then go ahead!”
Upon hearing this, a look of joy spread across Xiao Yan’s face as he hurriedly expressed his gratitude.
“Thank you, Immortal Master!”
Then, the three of them set off towards the Heavenly Dao Sect.
No, to be precise, it was a group of “four.”
On the way, Su Bai walked with his hands clasped behind his back, his expression tranquil, while Xiao Xi’er continued to gaze at him, but she couldn’t discern anything.
This guy, does he really have the ability, or is it just a facade?
If Xiao Yan weren’t here, Xiao Xi’er would have been unable to resist the urge to test his strength!
The Heavenly Dao Sect isn’t far from Yunshui City, and before long, the group had arrived at the foot of the Heavenly Dao Sect’s mountain.
“Is this really the Heavenly Dao Sect?”
Looking at the scale of the Heavenly Dao Sect, Xiao Xi’er’s expression became increasingly skeptical.
Because no matter how you looked at it, the Heavenly Dao Sect didn’t seem like a major sect; at most, it appeared to be a small, mixed-up sect!
At the Heavenly Dao Sect, Zhuge Feng and Xiao Lingxi were waiting for Su Bai’s return. When they saw Su Bai coming back with two others, their faces lit up with excitement.
“Master, are these the new Junior Brother and Junior Sister?”
Xiao Lingxi blinked her beautiful big eyes and exclaimed in surprise.
“Yes, this is Xiao Yan!” Su Bai pointed at Xiao Yan.
“Junior Brother, Junior Sister, my name is Xiao Yan,” Xiao Yan said politely, clasping his hands.
“Junior Brother Xiao, welcome to the Heavenly Dao Sect,” Xiao Lingxi said with a radiant smile.
Xiao Yan shyly scratched his head and replied, “Sister, no need to be so courteous.”
“And who is this Junior Sister?” Xiao Lingxi’s gaze turned to Xiao Xi’er.
“I’m not here to join your Heavenly Dao Sect; I’m just here to have a look,” Xiao Xi’er said with a cold expression, a trace of skepticism evident in her eyes.
The two disciples of the Heavenly Dao Sect had a Cultivation Base of Qi Refining Second Layer and Qi Refining Third Layer, so how could they possibly belong to a major sect?
Seeing the skepticism in Xiao Xi’er’s eyes, Xiao Lingxi revealed a meaningful smile.
She understood that the girl before her was doubting the strength of the sect!
Not long ago, her expression had been just as doubtful, hadn’t it?
It was only after witnessing her Master’s capabilities that she truly understood what it meant to be a formidable force!
“Master, Ye Qingyao is still unconscious. We have placed her in the side room of the Great Hall, in your quarters,” Zhuge Feng reported.
“That’s fine; let her rest well,” Su Bai responded, a hint of concern bubbling up in his heart.
As more disciples joined the Heavenly Dao Sect, the rooms available for their accommodation were still insufficient; this couldn’t continue.
During the next sect upgrade, they had to expand and build a grand palace specifically for the disciples to live in.
Otherwise, it would be bad if rumors spread that the Heavenly Dao Sect mistreated its disciples!
“Come and pay your respects to the Master. Only then can you truly become part of the Heavenly Dao Sect.”
Su Bai turned and walked into the Great Hall, leaving behind this remark.
“Xiao Yan, hurry up!” Xiao Lingxi urged.
Xiao Yan was momentarily stunned, but then realized and was filled with excitement, quickly following Su Bai into the Great Hall.
Xiao Xi’er, on the other hand, curled her lip, displaying an expression of disdain.
Inside the Great Hall,
Su Bai sat in the main position, with Zhuge Feng and Xiao Lingxi standing respectfully on either side.
As for Xiao Yan, he knelt on the ground and knocked his head three times, then spoke clearly, “Disciple Xiao Yan, paying respects to Master!”
“Hmm, get up. From now on, you will be my third direct disciple, the third disciple of the Heavenly Dao Sect.”
Su Bai nodded slightly, indicating for Xiao Yan to stand up.
“Thank you, Master.”
Xiao Yan stood up, then reached into his Storage Ring and pulled out a wooden box. Opening it revealed several shimmering silver ingots.
“Master, I just saw the sect’s signboard stating the monthly fee is thirty taels of silver. This is one hundred eighty taels of silver, which is my entrance fee for six months,” he said respectfully, lowering his head.
He naturally understood the rules for joining a sect; the half-year service fee was mandatory, and additional fees would be charged for Immortal Techniques later on.
“The Heavenly Dao Sect provides free meals and accommodation; no payment is required,” Su Bai replied with a faint smile.
“Free meals and accommodation?” Xiao Yan was taken aback, his expression one of shock.
This was the first time he had heard of a sect being free!
“Hmm?” Xiao Xi’er was also slightly stunned, still trying to process the information.
This guy isn’t trying to scam money; what does he want to trick them into?
“Then Master, about the issue of my inability to cultivate…” Xiao Yan asked nervously, as this was his primary concern.
“That’s at the Immortal Law Pavilion; once you go in, you will understand the reasons behind your inability to cultivate and will find techniques that you can practice,” Su Bai waved his hand, casually explaining.
“Thank you, Master, for the information! I understand now!”
Xiao Yan immediately felt overjoyed and bowed in thanks.
Could the issue of his inability to cultivate really be resolved?
Filled with excitement, Xiao Yan walked toward the Immortal Law Pavilion.
Xiao Xi’er followed, but Su Bai’s figure appeared in front of her, and he smiled, saying, “Those who are not disciples of our sect cannot enter.”
