Chapter 129: The Yuntian Sect Elders Were Stunned

Yuntian Sect this poor?

Yuntian Sect is just a small sect!

These words echoed in the ears of the Yuntian Sect elders, nearly causing them to faint.

A small sect…

A hundred years ago, Yuntian Sect was the top sect in Southern Ridge!

Yet now, ordinary mortals actually called it a tiny sect.

But they couldn’t even bring themselves to laugh.

Those mortals were already using teleportation formations!

Does your Golden Core elder have that kind of wealth?

Wait… two wen…

“I just remembered, one tael of silver equals a thousand wen…” one elder suddenly exclaimed.

Shh—a collective intake of cold breath surrounded them; their hearts rose into their throats.

Damn, it’s that cheap!!!

Past the queue entrance, the area outside the Teleportation Array was already packed with people. As the barrier above lifted, a crowd surged forward.

The Yuntian Sect elders followed along with the mass into the Teleportation Array.

Each person’s “coin” pulsed with light, signaling that the formation was confirming their intended destination.

Once full, “Whoosh!”With a whoosh, the crowd was teleported away.

At the Heavenly Dao Sect Summit, the elders of the Yuntian Sect emerged from the teleportation formation, their faces still filled with shock.

To sum up this teleportation formation in just one phrase:

Fast, stable, and no dizziness!

It was many, many times more powerful than the teleportation formation in their own sect!

Their old broken formation caused everyone to throw up on their very first teleportation—ten people, eleven would be sick!

But as they stepped out of the Heavenly Dao Sect’s teleportation formation, they were stunned once more.

This teleportation formation from the Heavenly Dao Sect was just… too… enormous!

“This is a teleportation formation?”

“Damn it, I’ve lived half my life and only now do I understand what ‘truly huge’ means!”

They were all deeply shocked; this formation was just too massive!

It was at least a hundred times larger than Yuntian Sect’s teleportation formation!

“Could it teleport a million people at once?”

“Oh my goodness, this formation is simply godlike! If only Yuntian Sect had one!”

“Just thinking about it is nice… but if it really existed, with every activation consuming that massive amount of resources, we wouldn’t be able to afford it anyway!”

“Let’s not get stuck on the teleportation formation. The concentration of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy here… it’s thousands of times higher than in our sect!”

Another exclamation rang out, instantly drawing everyone’s attention.

“Yes, I can feel it too. God, such pure spiritual energy!”

“I feel the spiritual energy inside me boiling—it’s incredibly pure!”

“With energy this rich, I had lost hope of breaking through to Nascent Soul, but now I actually see a chance!”

The elders of Yuntian Sect felt like their steps were floating. After being bombarded by one shock after another today, they were almost driven mad with excitement.

“Everyone, what brings you to the Heavenly Dao Sect?”

A faint laugh came from a distance. Looking up, they saw a white-robed youth watching them closely.

It was Su Bai, Sect Master of the Heavenly Dao Sect!

“Greetings, Sect Master Su!” Everyone quickly stepped forward to bow respectfully.

“To be honest, Sect Master Su, we came this time to…”

The Great Elder of Yuntian Sect hesitated, glancing at his sect master and the elders, his face full of bitterness.

Originally, they had planned to negotiate a few conditions, hoping to gain some benefits. But after what they had just witnessed, they realized that in front of the Heavenly Dao Sect, Yuntian Sect was truly just a minor sect!

A minor sect trying to bargain?

“Sigh, Yuntian Sect will unconditionally pledge allegiance to the Heavenly Dao Sect,” the Great Elder finally sighed.

Since they had come this far, it was better to bow low and maybe leave a good impression.

“Unconditionally?”

Su Bai’s expression shifted slightly as his gaze moved to Yun Zhi, sect master of Yuntian Sect.

Yun Zhi looked somewhat complicated but said nothing—clearly acquiescing. She had already handed full authority to the Great Elder anyway; otherwise, with her personality, who knew how long she might have hesitated?

“As long as you can accept the rules of the Heavenly Dao Sect, our sect welcomes any sect to join us.”

Su Bai nodded slightly, his expression still calm. He showed no joy or any unusual emotion in response to their answers.

“Yes, yes, yes!”

“We will definitely abide by the sect regulations of the Heavenly Dao Sect.”

“We will also instruct our disciples to comply!”

The elders of Yuntian Sect quickly promised, fearing that a single delay might upset Su Bai.

Not to mention, they all harbored a bit of hidden ambition in their hearts.

“Ahem, Sect Master Su, I noticed your sign says you’re recruiting an elder. How about taking me?”

“You old geezer, you’re actually competing with me!”

“Nonsense! I clearly said it first!”

The elders of Yuntian Sect bickered among themselves. With the Heavenly Dao Sect’s incredibly high concentration of spiritual energy, training here would be far superior to their own Yuntian Sect! Whether they were Third Layer Golden Core, Fifth Layer Golden Core, or Seventh Layer Golden Core…

When elders reached the Nascent Soul level, why wouldn’t they want to be elders of the Heavenly Dao Sect?

“Sorry, you all haven’t met the minimum requirements to become elders of the Heavenly Dao Sect.”

Su Bai glanced at them indifferently then shook his head. Now that he was at the Fourth Layer of Divine Transformation, according to the system’s minimum standard, an elder here needed to be at least Fourth Layer Nascent Soul!

“May I ask what the minimum standard for elders in the Heavenly Dao Sect is?” the Great Elder of Yuntian Sect asked.

The others also pricked up their ears.

“The minimum standard is Fourth Layer Nascent Soul… oh no, now it’s Fifth Layer Nascent Soul,” Su Bai said after a brief pause.

The elders of the Yuntian Sect fell silent.

Not only were they Golden Core elders, even their Sect Master seemed to not meet the qualifications.

After chatting for a while longer, the Yuntian Sect elders still showed no signs of leaving.

If Su Bai didn’t send them off, these people might just camp out here indefinitely!

Who could blame them with how densely concentrated the spiritual energy was at the Heavenly Dao Sect?

When the Yuntian Sect members finally left, each of them did so reluctantly, almost desperately trying to take deep, satisfying breaths—trying to absorb as much spiritual energy as possible before leaving.

Because once they returned, they’d be stuck breathing the “inferior” air back in their Yuntian Sect.

There was no helping it: after getting a taste for fine grains, coarse bran just felt like chewing on wax.
