Our Entire Family Has Secrets [Transmigrated] - Chapter 43
***
At 3 AM, in the Spider Domain, the underground ocean city.
Almost all branches of the Spider Domain throughout the star system were built underwater. On one hand, it was to avoid detection; on the other, the sea was vast enough to conceal most fluctuations in power.
Even if there were fierce battles and explosions below, the waves on the surface would merely appear as unobserved ripples.
Yan Fengyue slapped her forehead, forcing herself awake from the void of dreams, her hair cascading like a waterfall, ensnaring the void.
“Nice, you’ve improved,” Wu Jian chuckled, then stretched out his hands, creating a black abyss into which countless things were sucked.
Including Yan Fengyue’s hair.
She cursed, “Damn it, cheating! We agreed on moderation, and you pull out a bottomless pit to try to kill me?”
Despite her words, she didn’t stop. Several red threads emerged from her veins, and with a sudden flick of her fingers, countless nearly invisible blood threads shot out, ensnaring Wu Jian at incredible speed.
Wu Jian’s skin was quickly cut, wounds deep enough to show bone.
He didn’t dare to move, locked in a standoff with Yan Fengyue, and chuckled, “You’re quite ruthless.”
The shockwave from their powers summoned Satan from the end of the corridor.
Just as the fourth explosion was about to crack the protective walls of the Spider Domain Ocean City, Satan swooped in to halt the conflict.
“Come on, both of you,” Satan lamented, looking at the debris scattered on the ground.
“I invited you here to help, not to demolish the place.”
The two S-rank mercenaries from the Spider Domain, the strongest in the galaxy, finally ceased hostilities.
Because they were evenly matched, both had sustained injuries.
After some coaxing from Satan, they agreed to sit in the conference room.
At a ten-meter-long rectangular table, they sat at opposite ends, and Satan observed them with amusement.
“As far as I know, you two rarely meet, not even once a year on different planets. What’s with all the animosity?”
Yan Fengyue scoffed.
Wu Jian, on the other hand, explained patiently, “There’s no grudge, just a desire to measure our strengths.”
“Understood,” Satan reassured them.
“You are among the top rare bloodlines in the world; it’s normal to want to compare strengths when you meet.”
Then his voice turned serious, “But do keep a sense of moderation.”
In terms of bloodline power, Satan isn’t top-tier, but as the saying goes, numbers matter.
Holding the command over all branches of the Spider Domain worldwide, even S-level individuals must show him some respect.
Wu Jian smiled, “Alright, then we won’t fight.”
But Yan Fengyue spat, “You think that means you can’t beat me?”
Wu Jian shrugged.
He only acted based on his mood, and with his current lack of it, he wouldn’t be provoked.
Satan sighed, pulled out a chair, and sat down. “Since you can’t sleep, let’s discuss some serious matters.”
“Didn’t we already discuss this?” Yan Fengyue asked.
“You just called us back to catch that bird thing, right?”
She sounded indifferent, as if the task were a walk in the park.
Satan patiently explained, “The divine bird bloodline is very special. It inherits the strongest part of the Chidi bloodline, and its awakening energy field is extremely unstable. If you let your guard down, it’s easy to get hurt.”
“Are you doubting our strength?”
Satan looked at her for a moment and honestly smiled, “Yes, I am.”
Yan Fengyue immediately flared up, ready to demonstrate how she could dismantle the underground ocean city in three seconds.
But it was Wu Jian who restrained her.
“Satan isn’t talking nonsense. The divine bird bloodline only produces a successor once every few hundred years. Don’t underestimate us; even all S-levels combined might end up mutually assured destruction.”
This statement carried more weight coming from Wu Jian, who was also S-level.
Yan Fengyue’s expression shifted to surprise.
“Is it really that powerful?”
Satan continued, “Don’t worry too much. The energy field I detected shows that it is currently in the most unstable awakening phase. As you know, rare species are at their weakest during their first transformation. If you can hold out until then, you can bring it back without any effort.”
“What if it successfully awakens? Wouldn’t that mean we’ve lost our chance?”
Yan Fengyue wasn’t afraid of death; she just found Satan’s words unsettling, making it hard to imagine how powerful that bloodline truly was.
“It’s hard to say,” Satan replied.
“If we miss the best timing, I will draft a new plan. But that possibility is low; after all, it’s just a child.”
“So you called all S-levels to Qiancheng this time?”
“Everyone who could come, did.”
After a brief silence, Satan added, “Perhaps there will be a new face you haven’t seen before.”
Gabriel’s power was still an unknown, but Satan felt he might also be S-level.
At this moment, Wu Jian asked a new question. “Did you take Alanlu’s Lich spirit?”
Satan looked at him with surprise. “You can sense her Lich spirit?”
Wu Jian frowned.
“Yes.”
Satan pulled out a Spider Domain badge from his pocket, within which the Lich spirit was temporarily sealed.
Without hesitation, he handed it to Satan.
“Want to try absorbing it?”
Yan Fengyue gasped.
Wu Jian said, “You know no one can absorb a witch’s Lich spirit.”
Satan regrettably took back the badge.
Yan Fengyue whispered, “Wasn’t Alanlu raised by you? Are you going to kill her?”
“Why would I kill her?” Satan shook his head, rationalizing his actions straightforwardly. “I just believe she cannot fulfill her responsibilities, so I’m looking for a new host for her power.”
Yan Fengyue and Wu Jian exchanged glances but remained silent.
They weren’t particularly good people; they felt little about Satan’s ruthless methods for achieving his goals.
“What if she ultimately can’t handle it? Can you find another witch?” Wu Jian had come specifically for Satan’s ritual, and if it couldn’t proceed as planned, he would lose interest.
“Not a problem.” Satan confidently replied, “I will provide enough energy cores for other liches to become replacements for Alanlu. There’s a saying among humans: three cobblers with their wits combined can outsmart Zhuge Liang.”
“Who is Zhuge Liang?” Yan Fengyue asked.
Wu Jian ignored her and continued to question Satan, “Where will the energy cores come from?”
“For the revival of our faith, we always need sacrifices.”
“So, who are you sacrificing?”
Satan looked at Wu Jian for a long moment and then burst out laughing, the sound echoing throughout the large conference room.
“Your question is quite meaningless,” Satan said. “Of course, I will sacrifice those who have no faith.”
Wu Jian and Yan Fengyue both fell silent for a while.
But a few minutes later, they began to laugh.
The three of them laughed together in the conference room.
Wu Jian wiped the tears of laughter from his eyes and said, “I knew you were an interesting lunatic.”
Yan Fengyue jumped onto the conference table and performed an impromptu spinning waltz.
Then she stopped in front of Satan and said, “On the day of the ritual, I want to wear the prettiest dress. You’re going to help me have it custom-made.”
Satan said, “No problem, my princess.”
Just then, a crow flew into the conference room.
Satan caught it and when he let it go, it turned into a flying confetti.
“Gabriel is here,” Satan said.
“Who is Gabriel?” Yan Fengyue asked, “Is he the same person as Zhuge Liang?”
Wu Jian laughed, “Illiterate.”
“Fuck your father, I just don’t want to go to a human school to read human books!”
When the two of them were arguing, Satan walked to the door of the conference room and said casually, “He is a person I value very much. Although his last rating was A, I always think that he has S-level strength. If he is lucky, he may be able to tie with you.”
Satan pressed the metal button ring and opened the door for the mysterious visitor outside.
Before Yuan Bozhu’s figure completely appeared in sight, Wu Jian and Yan Fengyue were very much looking forward to this mysterious A-level rare species that “may tie with them”.
However, it was mediocre.
This person even wore a hoodie that was too childish, and walked in from outside without any momentum.
Even the way of greeting was very ordinary.
“Good evening.” Yuan Bozhu looked at Satan.
“Good evening, Gabriel.”
Satan welcomed him warmly, led him to the conference table, and introduced him to the two S-level seniors, “You two, this is our Spider Domain’s A-level employee in Qiancheng, Gabriel. He is a person I personally admire very much. I have always wanted to re-rate him, maybe you can make a new friend.”
Yuan Bozhu stood there expressionlessly.
Wu Jian and Yan Fengyue really couldn’t imagine how strong he was, and they were very resistant to Satan’s statement that he and they were all S-level.
“Now the S-level in the Spider Domain has started to wholesale?”
Yan Fengyue’s face was full of disdain.
She suddenly stretched out her hand, and a blood line rushed out of her fingers and shot straight at Yuan Bozhu.
Yuan Bozhu didn’t dodge, and let her supernatural power wrap around his neck.
Yan Fengyue sneered: “That’s it? That’s it?”
Satan shook his head in disapproval: “Don’t be so rude to guests.”
However, he did not order Yan Fengyue to stop.
The dangerous blood line was strangled on Yuan Bozhu’s neck, which could kill him at any time.
Satan still asked Yuan Bozhu with interest: “Why are you here so late?”
He could guess that it was probably not a small matter for the mysterious Gabriel to come here at night.
So Yan Fengyue was allowed to suppress Gabriel like this.
However, no one expected that Yuan Bozhu just slowly put his finger on the blood line and said: “I came to get something from you.”
While quietly passing his power through the blood line to Yan Fengyue’s body.
But in a split second, Yan Fengyue let out a heart-wrenching wail: “Ahhhhh!”
“Fuck your dad, it hurts so much!!”
“Stop it, you bastard! Ahhhh——”
When Satan and Wu Jian looked over, her blood vessels had already burst, and blood was splattering from all over her body like a leaking faucet, shocking and horrible.
Her voice also changed from ugly shouting to weak begging for mercy.
“Save me… Save me…”
Yuan Bozhu pulled off the blood line on his neck that had no strength and threw it on the ground.
Satan and Wu Jian’s expressions could not be said to be horrified, but rather confused.
They could not believe that there was a person in the world who could defeat an S-level rare species so easily – no, not just defeat, he could already take her life.
But Yuan Bozhu did not give them much time to think and react.
He explained his purpose again.
“Satan.”
It was not a request, nor a negotiation. Yuan Bozhu just told him, “I want the lich spirit in your hand.”
