The next afternoon, Tang Xin packed her luggage. She didn’t take much with her, as she still planned to stay at home occasionally. For now, she brought just the essentials to Tang Yu’s place.

Dragging a large suitcase behind her, she loaded it into her car and drove herself to Tang Yu’s house.

The neighborhood Tang Yu lived in was undeniably high-end—the kind of place that screamed “only the wealthy need apply.”

After parking her car in the underground garage, Tang Xin took the elevator up, holding the key Tang Yu had given her. The problem was, he had handed her an entire ring of keys. It took her a good two minutes of trial and error to figure out which one unlocked the door.

Stepping inside, she was immediately struck by the sheer size of the apartment. Spacious, tastefully decorated, with a minimalist yet luxurious design.

Tang Xin couldn’t help but feel like she’d hit the jackpot. Living here? Totally worth it!

She pushed her suitcase into the apartment and wandered toward the master bedroom. Standing at the doorway, she stared at the massive two-meter-wide bed, her cheeks quietly reddening.

Capitalist perks, huh? she thought. This bed is so big I could roll around in it all day.

Exploring further, she found the walk-in closet, where she spotted the suitcase Tang Yu had previously brought back for her. Opening it, she discovered that not only had he unpacked her belongings, but he had also neatly arranged her clothes on hangers and organized everything else into designated compartments.

“Not bad,” Tang Xin murmured with a smile. He can be pretty thoughtful when he wants to be.

She opened her new suitcase and began unpacking her things. Once she was done, she snapped a quick photo of the closet and sent it to Tang Yu.

He was scheduled to return that night.

Tang Yu had just arrived at the airport and was waiting to board his flight when his phone buzzed. Opening WeChat, he saw the photo Tang Xin had sent him. His lips curled into a faint smile.

She just said last night that we should be good to each other, and now she’s being unusually obedient.

The thought amused him so much he laughed out loud. Typing back, he teased, “You went there on your own? So well-behaved?”

Tang Xin’s reply was a simple, “Hmph.”

He chuckled and dialed her number.

As soon as she picked up, his deep voice came through. “I’m about to board. Wait for me at home.”

Three hours later.

Tang Yu opened the front door to find Tang Xin sitting on the living room carpet, watching a movie and chatting on her phone. Hearing the door open, she glanced over her shoulder and greeted him with a sweet smile.

“Welcome back, Mr. Tang! You’ve worked hard!”

With that, she turned her attention back to the TV.

Tang Yu stood in the doorway, speechless.

Is this what she calls a warm welcome?

Aren’t couples in love supposed to run into each other’s arms after being apart?

Dissatisfied, he tossed his suitcase aside, strode across the room, and unceremoniously scooped her off the floor.

Tang Xin had been engrossed in a group chat with Ming Zhu and You Huan. Their conversation was lively—and a little inappropriate. Her guilty conscience flared as she looked up at him.

Tang Yu, now seated on the couch with his long legs stretched out, gestured lazily with his chin. “Go get me a glass of water.”

Tang Xin pouted. “First day of living together, and you’re already ordering me around.”

Grumbling under her breath, she huffed her way to the kitchen, taking her phone with her.

Tang Yu smirked as he glanced at her iPad on the floor, which was paused on a Japanese drama. Turning his head toward the kitchen, he watched her, phone in hand, typing furiously while rummaging for a glass.

Who’s she chatting with so happily?

Curiosity piqued, Tang Yu followed her. Barefoot and quiet, he approached unnoticed as she focused on her phone. Her delicate neck was bent slightly forward, her fingers flying across the screen as she giggled to herself.

“I shouldn’t have made fun of Lu Zhuofeng before,” she typed. “Let me tell you guys… I think Tang Yu might actually be a virgin! His first time was only five minutes! Huan Huan, isn’t it true that a quick first time usually means virginity?”

Tang Yu’s lips curved into a devilish grin.

Standing right behind her, he called out softly, “Rich Girl.”

Tang Xin startled, letting out a shriek. “Ah!”

In her panic, she dropped her phone. It hit the floor with a loud thud, and when she picked it up, there was a long crack running across the screen.

Her heart sank. Damn it. My phone!

Tang Yu, “…”

Since when was the Feisty Queen this easy to scare?

Both of them instinctively turned their eyes toward the phone lying on the floor. Tang Xin twisted and squirmed in an attempt to grab it, her mind racing. She didn’t even have time to mourn the cracked screen—her only concern was preventing Tang Yu from seeing the chat messages displayed on it.

“I’ll get you a new—”

Tang Yu’s words trailed off. With his sharp 20/13 vision, a quick glance at the phone’s generously sized screen was all he needed to spot the text she’d just sent.

His expression froze.

The next moment, another message popped up on the screen, a brutal finishing blow.

You Huan: Hahahahahahaha! Five minutes? Your Mr. Tang’s first time was really just five minutes???

Tang Yu, “…”

His face darkened completely, his ears faintly red.

Five minutes? To hell with five minutes!

Tang Xin froze in place, her body stiff with fear. She made another desperate attempt to grab the phone, but Tang Yu held her firmly in place, his grip like a steel vice. She didn’t even need to look at him to feel the waves of anger emanating from his body.

Inside her head, Tang Xin screamed, I’m done for! It’s over! Completely over!

Then another message appeared on the screen.

Ming Zhu: Five minutes? That’s fast. Faster than Lu Zhuofeng. He’s probably a virgin.

You Huan: Hahahahaha! Tang Xin, come on, spill the truth—was it kidney weakness or just a virgin thing? Don’t tell me your Mr. Tang is all looks but no substance!

Tang Xin, “…”

She wanted to strangle You Huan right there and then. Why did she have to bring that up? After last time, hasn’t she learned how much I paid for saying those exact words?

With no hesitation, Tang Xin slammed her foot down on the phone and played the victim. “Tang Yu, you owe me a new phone! The latest model!”

Tang Yu let out a cold laugh, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Five minutes? Kidney weakness? All looks but no substance? Tang Xin, do you have a death wish?”

Tang Xin stammered, “I-I don’t! We were just… chatting casually!”

Tang Yu’s grip tightened as he spun her around and pinned her firmly against the kitchen counter. Tilting her chin up with one hand, he locked eyes with her, his gaze narrowed and dangerous. Through clenched teeth, he growled, “Really? What kind of casual chat brings up ‘five minutes’ and ‘all looks but no substance’?”

This woman…

Tang Yu was so furious he wanted to swear out loud.

Tang Xin, genuinely terrified, played the pitiful card. She looked up at him with wide, watery eyes and said in a trembling voice, “Tang Yu… Mr. Tang … I was wrong… I swear I won’t say anything like that ever again!”

Tang Yu stared down at her, his expression cold and foreboding.

Then came the sound of a belt being unbuckled.

The soft “clink” sent chills down Tang Xin’s spine.

Tang Yu’s lips curled into a cruel smile. “Calling me daddy won’t save you. You’re not walking away from this.”

Tang Xin shivered uncontrollably. “…”

🎭 Behind the Curtain with Kliraz—A Cultural Spin on Tang-Tang!

Tang Yu’s lavish home screams status symbol, deeply valued in Chinese culture, especially in urban hubs like Beijing or Shanghai. Globally, homes convey wealth differently—think sprawling estates in the US or historical villas in France. Tang Xin marveling at the capitalist perks is relatable worldwide. In Finland, homes are cherished for their minimalist functionality, while in Mexico, vibrant communal spaces reflect familial warmth!

Moving in before marriage has shifted over the years. In China’s past, it was taboo; now, it’s increasingly normal in cities. Compare this to Sweden, where “sambo” (living together) has been common for decades. In contrast, in India or the Philippines, traditional families may still frown upon such arrangements. Isn’t it fascinating how values evolve differently across cultures?

Texting missteps? Universal chaos! Tang Xin’s chat drama mirrors relatable trends in Brazil, where “WhatsApp diplomacy” often leads to unintentional hilarity, or South Korea, where texting can be a delicate art.

Behaviorally, Tang Xin’s foot-down cover-up reflects our instinct to protect ego (and phones)! Neuroscience reveals that embarrassment activates our fight-or-flight response, making her defense very human.

Have you noticed differences in moving-in customs across cultures? (≧◡≦)
