【Ding… Welcome to the world of Destiny. In the world of Destiny, you will have a new life, a new fate. The beginning of a person’s life only comes with one chance to choose. Once you decide to start, there is no turning back. Therefore, please choose your path of destiny carefully. Now, please name yourself with a nickname that will accompany you for the rest of your life. Since your gaming region is in the Huaxia area, only Chinese characters can be used and the name must not be less than one character or exceed ten characters】.

After a long silence, in the quiet world, a plain voice slowly echoed… Its content consisted of just one word: 『Wang』. (王/King)

【Ding… Your nickname 『Wang』 has been successfully registered…】

…

…

More than half a month has passed since the launch of the world of Destiny, yet the novice village remains bustling with activity. Players forming teams, hawking goods, and even cursing at one another create a constant cacophony. The vast population base of the Huaxia nation ensures that for a long time to come, the novice village will remain in a lively and noisy state.

A figure emanating an aura of cold detachment appeared at the revival point of the novice village. Dressed in the simplest novice attire, with a not particularly tall build… Yet, as this person arrived, a strange, chilling aura inexplicably caused the nearby players to shudder involuntarily. Their bodies instinctively moved away as they nervously glanced around, trying to locate the source of this eerie and dangerous feeling.

Opening the level leaderboard and glancing at the top names, a faint expression finally appeared on his stern face… a disdainful sneer.

This is a man who dared to name himself 『Wang』.

Big-Beaked Bird: Level 20, HP 920. A bird species with an oversized beak, so large that it consumes an excessive amount of food, causing it to become overweight and lose its ability to fly. It now roams the ground like an ostrich. It is said to have some control over wind elements.

Innate Trait: 20% resistance to wind magic.

Skills: Big Beak Peck, Wind Blade Technique.

Weakness: None.

This is the territory of level 20 monsters, the Big-Beaked Birds. These peculiar creatures live up to their name—their long, sharp beaks dominate their body proportions, even surpassing a duck’s and rivaling that of a hippo.

If Ye Tian Xie hadn’t encountered Xiao Bei before, he would have simply sprinted through this area without engaging. But now…

“Xiao Bei, go!”

Ye Tian Xie locked onto a target and charged forward on horseback. Upon hearing the command, Xiao Bei let out an excited 『Meow~!』 and leapt nimbly off the horse, darting toward the Big-Beaked Bird with incredible speed.

“Meow, meow, meow… meow!”

With Xiao Bei’s clearly excited cries, it jumped up even before reaching the Big-Beaked Bird. It pounced in front of the bird, its two cat paws slashing rapidly—so fast that even Ye Tian Xie could only see a blur of claw shadows.

-254, -255, -227, -250!

Four red damage numbers overlapped as they floated into the air. The Big-Beaked Bird, which was just about to launch an attack, had its HP completely drained and collapsed to the ground instantly.

【Ding… Your pet Xiao Bei has leveled up to Level 1. HP +100, Physical Attack +30, Defense +10, Accuracy +10, Evasion +1. 】

A level 0 pet versus a level 20 monster, and it was a… one-shot kill!

This scene fully demonstrated Xiao Bei’s terrifyingly overwhelming attack power. Ye Tian Xie couldn’t help but wonder—if he had this monstrous little cat by his side when he was level 0, could he have reached level 10 in a single day and shocked the entire world of players?

After defeating one Big-Beaked Bird, Xiao Bei clapped its paws and dashed forward again, sprinting straight to the next Big-Beaked Bird. Before the bird could unleash its Wind Blade Technique, Xiao Bei’s dazzling four-hit combo slammed into it with rapid strikes.

283, 284, 281, 280!

Another one-shot kill!

Xiao Bei didn’t stop there and continued to pounce from one Big-Beaked Bird to another. Using its Meow-Meow Punch with astonishing speed, it mercilessly pummeled each bird into the ground. In the blink of an eye, the area before Ye Tian Xie was littered with a field of Big-Beaked Bird corpses.

Ye Tian Xie had not given Xiao Bei any command to clear the area of Big-Beaked Birds, but it was evident that Xiao Bei had an alarming penchant for violence. It ruthlessly toyed with these pitiful monsters that couldn’t even defend themselves against its onslaught.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh, swoosh... With four sharp strikes, yet another Big-Beaked Bird fell under Xiao Bei’s claws. At that moment, a noticeably larger Big-Beaked Bird charged toward Xiao Bei from behind.

Elite Big-Beaked Bird: Level 20, One-Star Elite, HP 1900. Known as the Big-Beaked Bird among Big-Beaked Birds. Its beak is much larger than that of a regular Big-Beaked Bird, and its overall strength far surpasses its peers. However, due to its extreme weight, not only can it not fly, but its movements are also considerably sluggish.

Sensing the incoming gust from behind, Xiao Bei turned and leapt, spinning in midair before landing a heavy kick on the Elite Big-Beaked Bird.

The Elite Big-Beaked Bird stood as tall as an average human, its body bulkier than even an ostrich. Xiao Bei, whose height was less than half that of a normal person, delivered a kick so forceful that it resounded with a loud BANG! The bird’s massive, overweight body flew through the air like a ball being punted with great strength, tumbling nearly ten meters away. It rolled on the ground for several rotations before coming to a stop, dazed, with tiny golden stars circling above its head.

Ye Tian Xie: “…”

“Meow!” Xiao Bei dashed forward, pouncing on the Elite Big-Beaked Bird in an instant. With two quick Meow-Meow Punches, eight overlapping damage numbers floated up in succession, instantly draining the Elite Big-Beaked Bird’s HP bar to zero.

【Ding… Your pet Xiao Bei has leveled up to Level 3. HP +100, Physical Attack +30, Defense +10, Accuracy +10, Evasion +1.】

A Level 20, One-Star Elite monster, defeated without even managing to attack—it was taken down in the blink of an eye by Xiao Bei. Xiao Bei licked its paws and then turned its gaze toward other potential prey…

“Xiao Bei, come back”

Hearing Ye Tian Xie’s call, Xiao Bei obediently trotted back, though before turning away, it cast several lingering glances at the distant Big-Beaked Birds, clearly reluctant to leave.

Although Xiao Bei’s skills were powerful, all of its attacks consumed its own life force as a price. By the time it returned to Ye Tian Xie’s side, its HP had dropped to nearly half. This depletion came entirely from its own skill usage. Yao Yao lifted her head, glanced at Xiao Bei, and with a flash of white light, cast a Mystic Spirit Healing Technique, fully restoring Xiao Bei’s lost HP.

“Meow…” Xiao Bei leapt back onto the horse’s back, wagged its tail, and flashed a cheerful smile at Yao Yao.

Xiao Bei’s skills not only consumed life force but did so as a percentage of its total HP, which somewhat limited its capabilities. However, with Yao Yao—the Mystic Spirit Snow Fox possessing exceptional support abilities—this limitation could essentially be ignored. Together, the two of them formed a seemingly perfect team.

Xiao Bei’s strength was already undeniable. If it were at the same level as Ye Tian Xie, its offensive power would undoubtedly surpass his. This left Ye Tian Xie torn between excitement and frustration. Putting aside Xiao Bei’s mysterious origins, having a pet by his side that was stronger than himself was, for someone like him, more than a little disconcerting.

With Xiao Bei accompanying him, Ye Tian Xie followed the map’s route and headed south. His journey had begun with the encounter of this peculiar little cat, leaving him eager to see what lay ahead.

On the very first day of Ye Tian Xie’s journey toward Tianri City, the renowned Seven Moons Chamber of Commerce made its move. Unlike many large guilds or trade organizations, the Seven Moons Chamber of Commerce had never sought to grow in size in previous game worlds. In fact, upon closer inspection, it appeared more like a casual venture created for leisure. Its fame, however, came from its owner.

The legendary beauty whose name had spread across all of Huaxia: Liu Qi Yue.

Three days later, the Seven Moons Chamber of Commerce officially opened for business, beginning with an auction. What shocked everyone was the auction’s location—the center of Tianchen City’s northern street—a position so prime and desirable it was almost unbelievable.

Since the introduction of currency exchange, major chambers of commerce and alliances had rushed to establish themselves as quickly as possible. Whoever could build a fully operational chamber first would gain the upper hand and, at the very least, solidify their name in the minds of players. The first hurdle in establishing a chamber of commerce was securing a location. Players could either:

  1. Purchase a plot of land in Tianchen City for an exorbitant price and hire architects to construct their own chamber.

  1. Rent existing land and buildings from Tianchen City, though this option offered less freedom and usually meant settling for suboptimal locations unless one was willing to pay an equally high cost.

For alliances aiming to grow their influence, developing chambers of commerce and other industries was essential, as they would serve as primary sources of funding. The Seven Moons Chamber’s sudden announcement stunned its competitors—it had moved far too quickly.

The time between the currency exchange and this announcement was incredibly short. How had Liu Qi Yue secured such a prime location and could she have truly prepared everything necessary in such a short span?

As for the items to be auctioned at the event, no information had been revealed.

The Seven Moons Chamber’s actions triggered a chain reaction. Everyone understood the principle of 『early bird gets the worm』. Within just an hour of the Seven Moons Chamber’s announcement, another piece of news spread even faster—on the same day, Wings That Obstruct the Heavens  would launch their first chamber, the Sky Obstruction No. 1 Chamber and host their own auction. They even emphasized that two silver-grade equipment pieces would be up for bidding.
